**What do you like best about Butter?**

The implementation of Butter was seamless, and the results were immediate. Thanks to its native support with our Stripe workflow, we were up and running in just a few days. Our previous involuntary churn solutions were significantly outperformed, with a 51% recovery rate on failed payments and a 2% increase in payment authorization at checkout.

What truly sets Butter apart is their exceptional team. They are incredibly responsive and always willing to help. They consistently partner with us to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement, even going to the extent of conducting data analysis on our payment transactions.

**What do you dislike about Butter?**

Nothing stands out, we have been very happy with their performance, partnership, and expertise in the payments space.

**What do you like best about Butter?**

Butter offers a turnkey solution that can plug into existing dunning workflows, which makes implementation a breeze in most cases. We've been a customer of Butter for ~2.5 years for a couple of specific reasons. 1) they deliver! we've seen a 8pt improvement in involuntary churn 2) their high-touch account management makes it incredibly easy to stay engaged and to understand any/all ways to improve our payments stack.

**What do you dislike about Butter?**

Reconciling results between internal datasets and Butter's datasets has been time consuming. Improved data reporting would help reduce data overhead.

**What problems is Butter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Butter is helping us reduce involuntary churn by improving our dinning workflows with more sophisticated approaches at retrying our customers' payment methods. This improves both subscriber and shipment retention, thus increasing revenue recovery from subscribers who would have otherwise churned.

**What do you like best about Butter?**

We recently onboarded Butter Payments and they've definitely exceeded expectations. In the several months we've been live, they've outperformed our previous solutions, delivering a meaningful boost in recovered revenue.

Butter has developed and deployed multiple custom models for us; their work has not only led to a meaningful increase in our recovery rates for recurring revenue, but by helping to clean our Merchant ID & reduce error codes related to suspected fraud, they've also impacted our top of funnel initial success rate.

Tech aside, the team at Butter Payments has been great to work with. They're always ready to answer questions, hop on calls, and provide resources to educate our team. Their dedication and responsiveness have made the entire process easy.

**What do you dislike about Butter?**

Nothing in particular to dislike about Butter.

**What problems is Butter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem with dunning and failed payment recovery is that it's extremely opaque and very complex, given the number of financial institutions involved, various error codes, and both soft and hard reasons for payment declines. It's not easy to understand and definitely not easy for companies to manage on their own, which is why technology like Butter's is invaluable for addressing the issue effectively.

By optimizing recovery efforts, Butter has helped us maintain higher customer retention rates. This directly benefits us by increasing the LTV of our customers.

**What do you like best about Butter?**

Butter's solution is effective, with sophisticated logic and optimizations designed to address accidental churn for your subscription business.  They don't need to take over dunning notifications and won't hammer your customers with annoying intercepts, which is a solid improvement over the woodpecker-style approach that some of the other payment retry/accidental churn products lean on to drive success.  The ability to still control the user experience while decreasing accidental churn and increasing failed payment recovery has been a real boon to our business.

Their account management team is great and have been close and friendly partners once we were able to launch and get the service live.  They are constantly optimizing their ML models behind the scenes, and we've seen increasingly effective results in the last 12 months or so that we've been live with Butter handling payment retries behind the scenes.

They've started building out comprehensive reporting dashboards, increasing in-the-moment visibility to overall results and the value that the product drives to your bottom line.  The results continue to scale in our favor and the service runs efficiently and quietly in the background.  Butter has helped us to reduce accidental churn, increase failed payment recovery and preserve our line-of-sight to the operational data we need to make solid financial decisions.

When I initially wrote this review, I would not have recommended this product to others in our situation but now that we've successfully integrated and been running with Butter for the last year or so, my opinion has shifted and I'd happily recommend Butter to other folks that are looking to reduce accidental churn but want to preserve their ability to control the end user experience through their lifecycle.

**What do you dislike about Butter?**

We had some speed bumps during launch - Butter was fairly early stage at the time and our use-case (homegrown billing logic using Stripe as a payments processor) wasn't initially supported though that was not clear until after signature.  Though it took some time for the Butter team to get the work done to support our use case, and our launch even after the product was ready was a wee bit bumpy, all those issues are now far in the rear-view mirror and I don't expect anyone else with a similar stack to run into the same issues given how much the Butter team has grown and invested in this area of their product.  They are not as fully featured as some of the other, similar services on the market but that wasn't an issue for us and the case(s) that we were looking for them to be able to support on.

Butter has been a key part of our subscription revenue management strategy, decreasing accidental churn and increasing the rate of failed subscription payment recovery.

**What do you like best about Butter?**

Butter does a better job at captured failed subscription payments than our primary subscription order management tool. This has enabled us to deliver more products to our customers, and capture more revenue / LTV while doing so.

**What do you dislike about Butter?**

Butter takes a cut of all subscription payments that are processed thru the platform, and users pay fees on all successful payments. Some of these payments would have been processed successfully without Butter (they just needed to be retried to go thru), so likely users end up paying fees to Butter for successful payments that would have been successful without Butter (and therefore free).

**What problems is Butter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating a higher rate of successful payments after a subscriber's payment method has failed.

Helped us with churn reduction by 3%. The onboarding team was super proactive. Quick implementation times. Definitely worth trying.

The price could be cheaper and the dashboard interface could be improved.

Their entire team, great support, competitive pricing structure, existant integration to the gateway (easy implementation) custom settings and certainly their end results.

**What do you dislike about Butter?**

So far so good. Would only recommend a better dashboard to showcase their results.

Increasing long term member value by successfully processing soft declines on rebills.
