Buildium is a One Stop Shop for all your Management Needs **Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Marvel E. | Relationship Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2026 **What do you like best about Buildium?** The most helpful thing about Buildium is that I can have everything related to the property, unit, and tenant together in one place. I don't need to have different programs to save important information, it is right at my finger tips. It is a valuable piece of software for property managers. **What do you dislike about Buildium?** Two things about Buildium that could improve.... First, I need to manually enter my water charges for 158 units. I have used a program called Appfolio for another client, and they have a feature that allows their users to upload a template, which posts all charges to the accounts for their property manager users with the click of a button. Second, I email and mail my all of tenant statements, but I only mail my statements to 30 of the 158 units. Buildium used to print the tenant statements for me to a PDF file separated by property and in order by unit. Now, it seems they are printed in order of a lease number that is automatically generated by Buildium. I had to create a Google Sheet in order for me to "find" the 30 statements that I need for mailing easier. My Google Sheet has the property and unit number and what page they can be found in the document. I highlighted the 30 pages that I need to print in my Google Sheet and manually print from the PDF file the pages that I need to mail each month. The Google Sheet does need to be manually updated periodically as tenants leave and new tenants take over the unit. **What problems is Buildium solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am not aware of any problems that Buildium is solving that would benefit me. ### 2. The Buildium phone application allows me to leave the office and work on the fly. The web based app on my computer is quick, and comprehensive. It is easy to find and look at a tenant or homeowner profile and get a complete picture of the information and ledger. The notification of work orders and ease of use in assigning them to a vendor/employee faciliates faster solutions. The support database is great and helps me solve my own Buildium issues. Having the app send out reminders without my involvement is invaluable. **What do you dislike about Buildium?** My only real dislike is not having the flexibility to have multiple screens open. I'd like to be able to enter the date field using keyboard instead of mouse driven calendar. My suggestions to improve the product would be work flow based and not lack of development. **What problems is Buildium solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have two Buildium databases (2 different clients) and it is a great solution for a large portfolio. The two biggest benefits are collecting payments electronically and auto-applying to ledger, and ease of submission of maintenance items and assigning them. ### 3. The invoice feature and the different modes of payment make it easier for tech-savvy tenants to manage their accounts and stay on top of their payments. **What do you dislike about Buildium?** There’s nothing wrong with Buildium. For me, the main difficulty we face is explaining the technology to people who aren’t very tech-savvy, especially elders and seniors. Many of them don’t trust applications, or is lazy to study one. They aren’t very flexible or comfortable with this kind of technology. **What problems is Buildium solving and how is that benefiting you?** Tracking of the payments and helping with techsavvy tenants to manage their accounts. ### 4.
