## About Buffer
Buffer is a social media management platform that helps creators, small businesses, and marketing teams plan, publish, and analyze content across multiple social networks from a single dashboard. Founded in 2010, Buffer is a fully remote, bootstrapped company of 75 people serving customers in a range of industries including e-commerce, media, professional services, and nonprofit. The platform supports publishing to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, Threads, Bluesky, Pinterest, YouTube, Google Business Profile, and Mastodon. Key features include: A visual content calendar and scheduling queue for planning posts in advance across all connected accounts. An engagement inbox that consolidates comments from Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, and X into a single view for faster response management. Start Page, a customizable link-in-bio landing page builder. An AI assistant for generating post ideas, repurposing content, and adjusting tone. Analytics dashboards that track post performance, audience growth, and engagement metrics by channel. Buffer is designed for users who need straightforward social media tools without the complexity or cost of enterprise software. The platform emphasizes ease of use and quick setup, allowing users to connect accounts and begin scheduling within minutes. Pricing tiers accommodate individual creators through small teams, with a free plan available for users managing up to three channels. Buffer focuses on simplicity and reliability for creators and small teams rather than feature density for large organizations. The platform covers emerging networks like Threads and Bluesky alongside established channels, providing unified management as the social landscape evolves. The engagement inbox addresses a common pain point—scattered conversations across platforms—by bringing comments into one place for efficient community management.

## Buffer Reviews
  ### 1. The perfect way to schedule social media posts

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

Easy to schedule on nearly all platforms. Can also set up repeat blasts of the same post.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

It doesn't integrate everything. For example, you cannot use .gif's with it.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

There are pricing tiers that you can select. Consider testing the free version first to make sure it meets your needs. There are some file formats and platforms it does not support.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use this to create and schedule social media posts for our clients. Frankly, we use a free version of it and find it meets our needs entirely.

  ### 2. Good Mediator

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Missy R. | Videographer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2019

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

It let's you set it and forget it. I can set my posts weeks in advanced and not have to worry about them.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

I really can't think of anything I don't like

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

It is a good way to get your thoughts and posts all in one place to share on multiple platforms

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have a lot of footage I need to put on social media, so it really helps to have all that stored and ready to go.

  ### 3. Great option for non-profits

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joseph J. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

Buffer now supports scheduling for Instagram, so it's on par with Hootsuite, but it also gives non-profits a 50% discount on services. It's great for publishing and scheduling. Buffer seems to offer a service called Reply that allows listening, which is something we'll need in the future but not right now. I'm happy that they don't bloat the already great scheduling service with other services we don't need yet.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

The free version is not as robust as Hootsuite's free version.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

Figure out if you need to listen and respond to visitors. If you do you'll want to also look at Buffer Reply.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I need to schedule updates to Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook and Buffer is dead simple.

  ### 4. A second set of hands for social

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brianne W. | Administrative Associate, Global Engagement; Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources (IANR), Higher Education, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

Absolutely the in-app/in-program button that allows you to schedule an RT. It's ridiculously easy and allows me to pace out my social content at the times I want it to be.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

I don't have too many complaints. Quite happy with it!

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

What on earth are you waiting for?

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to consistently share content during times/days I'm out of office, allowing myself to test the success rates of different posting times and frequencies., etc.

  ### 5. Better Alternative than Hootsuite

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Philip C. | Executive Search Consultant, Government Administration, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

I liked the fact that Buffer was really glitch-less app. It was well organized so that you could sort your several different media accounts, and also the fact that you could organize into dates. So this way you could really customize your account.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

I disliked the fact that you couldn't have unlimited posts on the free account, but they sort of baited you by letting you have 30 at a time. I also disliked the fact that you couldnt change something that you just posted via Buffer, and had to go through the Social media site.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

I would use this instead of Hootsuite and Social booster

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am solving the problem with buffer of tracking my social media analytics and managing accounts.

  ### 6. Management All In One

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Writing and Editing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

Is easy to keep social media accounts updated. It has an automated feature for timing social media posts.
Also can initiate a social media post from the webpage of the content currently in. Plus allows you to customize messages for each social media account, so you will not be limited.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

Not as user-friendly for Pinterest. I have found Tailwind to be better for that platform. Also seems to be hit or miss with Instagram posts.
Wish could personalize the features more to what own personal needs are. Hate paying for what I don't need or use.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

I feel there are other platforms that are free and work better with different platforms. But for a true all in one organization, Buffer is the better choice.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work with different venues and help with social media. Instead of traditionally logging in on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google+, and other social media sites, Buffer will do it all at once. It also makes it convenient for users to create posts and have them uploaded with a single click.

  ### 7. Simple to use social media management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shannon A. | Graphic Designer, Graphic Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

I like how easy it is to schedule posts across all social accounts

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

I wish there was a better comparison of social impact across platforms

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using buffer we are much more efficient with social media. We schedule posts in advance and can analyze what kinds of posts are best for which platforms and see what gets the most interaction.

  ### 8. Easy to learn and use! A great way to manage all accounts in one place!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food & Beverages | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

I find it simple to use and that I can manage multiple accounts at once.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

Easily can get more expensive if you’re working within a team.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Interaction of my customers and keeping them up-to-date on what is new with our business.

  ### 9. Buffer is a great tool for streamlining your social media posting

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kolben P. | Marketing Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

Ability to publish posts from Facebook to all other social media platforms and customize each post on a per-platform basis.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

Limited ability for post types. Sometimes buffer is glitchy and the extension doesn't work properly. Better Instagram posting ability.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

Make sure it integrates with the platforms you use. Know what problems you need to solve.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Streamlining our social media posting process. Automatically schedule content for all social media platforms.

  ### 10. Makes twitter strategy easy!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samantha R. | New Media Coordinator, Public Relations and Communications, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

On buffer, you are able to schedule all of your tweets by the hour/minute and date. You can post as many or as little scheduled tweets per day/week. And it makes actualizing your bigger social media picture easier.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

The website only allows you to post certain kinds of photo file formats. Thus GIFs are hard to schedule. But regular JPegs are fine

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are actualizing our long term social media marketing goals by using Buffer for Twitter. The benefits are rooted in consistency and landing the voice we wish to portray

  ### 11. Best scheduling system out there

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2019

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

Everything! I love that I can schedule instagram posts seamlessly, along with Facebook and Twitter. This system has saved me SO much time.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

The basic level only allows for 10 posts per platform to be scheduled at one time.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

Do it! Instagram scheduling is so valuable and will do wonders for your social strategy.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Social Media post scheduling - it makes it easy to post later in the day and on "off" days, freeing up valuable time.

  ### 12. Buffer Social Media Review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

You can access multiple social media platforms at once, and it's easy to navigate in comparison to hootsuite.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

It doesn't automatically show you a preview like hootsuite does.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Same things that any multi social media platform solves. I like the benefits of having all the analytics in one spot.

  ### 13. Buffer

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food & Beverages | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 23, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

Buffer has enabled us to think of our social channel holistically, while still creating platform-specific content. It facilitated scheduling and timelines for each post on each platform.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

The analytic capabilities are not as in depth and lack the specificity to make recommendations -- This is not a huge problem, just something to note.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

Very useful tool to manage and integrate content across platforms. Worth the investment!

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Integrate social media planning and content planning.

  ### 14. Easy to manage multiple accounts

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

I love how you can add multiple accounts on Buffer. You can post the same content across all accounts or you can optimize content to perform best of specific accounts.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

There isn't much I dislike on Buffer since the account I use is a paid account, however, for a small business or a personal account wanting to use Buffer to the best of its ability it would be nice to have more under a free account.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

Try out a free account, but using a paid account gives you more room to improve your promotion across various social media channels.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The business problems I am solving with Buffer is managing multiple accounts during all hours of the day. The greatest benefit I've realized is being able to schedule content during the prime times of our customers being active.

  ### 15. Everything you need in one platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2019

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

Buffer is extremely easy to use and their features make it the best choice in SMM.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

I work for a government agency and the pricing is a bit high for our budget.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

Take time to read their blog posts and listen to The Science of Social Media Podcast. It’s gold every week.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to schedule Instagram content is huge for us.

  ### 16. Easy to do social media repostings

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

It's easy to schedule postings, swap out photos for our own library, and share content.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

It's not major, but doesn't connect with Sprout.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We share relevant posts from industry sites, blogs, etc. This makes it easy to do and to schedule.

  ### 17. Easy to use!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Writing and Editing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

Managing multiple accounts from one location.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

The cost is a BIT high for media management.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marketing techniques and consistency are much simpler with the app.

  ### 18. The only scheduling tool you need

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Beverley T. | Social Media Strategist & Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

Buffer's concept is simple and straightforward, there's no extra features that bog it down which is what I like best. If you want an easy way to schedule your social media posts, Buffer is that tool. I like the calendar view where you can see empty timeslots and the ability to schedule the same link across different networks but customize the caption.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

I wish the analytics were better or that their new analytics offering was included in paid plans. Sometimes the posting page errors and I have to reload it losing what I was doing.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

This tool isn't confusing, it doesn't have all the features if you're looking for an all in one management system, but if keeping your posts consistent is an issue, try Buffer.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Retweeting with a scheduling, being able to see what posts are going to look like before you share them. The ability to pull images from a URL... It makes social media more consistent for me.

  ### 19. Very reliable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

Unlike social media management software I used before, Buffer is extremely reliable. After scheduling my posts for social media, no technical issues would interfere in the way. Plus, if you have an international audience as I do, it gives you the luxury of posting on your social media at different time zones.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

Facebook doesn't give you enough reach when posting Buffer posts. Buffer will need to find a solution for this issue.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

Make sure to narrow down a posting schedule that gets the most results. A/B testing helps with that.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have automated social media, which engage more with our audience in much less time that we normally used to do.

  ### 20. The best social media scheduling tool ever!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yuliia C. | Marketing Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

I love the fast speed and simple interface of the Buffer app. And also one of my favorite way to plunning post is Buffer Chrome extention.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

I'd like to add the ability to mention someone for Facebook and Linkedin. And it'd be great to fix the issue with random losing connections.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

I highly recommend Buffer app to auto-posting on social networks.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I save my time! And Buffer also very simplify the process of posting on social networks.

  ### 21. Makes scheduling posts on the go quick and easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Janelle V. | Web & Social Media Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

Buffer's extensions can be added to chrome and used via mobile, making it super simple to schedule posts out while on the go. It also makes it quick and easy to shorten links for ease of reading.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

There's nothing I don't like about Buffer.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

Buffer's enterprise level offerings also make it easy to work across teams, giving users differing levels of access, but giving you ultimate control over what is posted when. I also frequently turn to buffer over bit.ly when I want a link shortened quickly, just because it's so accessible and fast. Buffer also sends you reminders when your queue is empty, which is good if you plan to use it as your primary social scheduling tool. It lets you know when you need to top it off.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Social media posting and scheduling while on the go.

  ### 22. Weekly Buffer Use

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Philanthropy | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

It’s easy to add new accounts and upload content simultaneously.

Scheduling social media posts for times when know one is working.

  ### 23. Easy to Use

Social Media Management

  ### 24. Great Social Media Organizer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2019

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

I liked the asthetics of this app and it was very easy to use and set up.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

Connecting to social media platforms took some time.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted to achieve organization as well as to be able to pre schedule our posts and project what they would look like weeks in advance.

  ### 25. Best Comprehensive Scheduling Platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 31, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

The ability to schedule content reliably across primary social media platforms from one screen.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

Does not always work--content sometimes fails and you have to reconnect profiles/pages. Also does not support tagging other accounts on all platforms. For instance, you can tag other accounts/pages on Twitter and Facebook but not LinkedIn. They seem to make updates and enhancements frequently, though.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

Very easy to use and reliable for the most part--I have stuck with this platform for a long time now.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scheduling content on multiple social media platforms efficiently. Biggest benefit is saving time.

  ### 26. Great tool for social media management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Animation | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

The user friendly dashboard and the ability to schedule posts. I also like the composer tool.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

Sometimes the dashboard can be buggy and my posts don’t go through.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

Try it and see if you like it.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I gain productivity time back by scheduling posts ahead of time.

  ### 27. Really good tool for social automation, but has limitations

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2019

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

This tool is easy to use and makes it easier to schedule and post future social media posts.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

This tool doesn't allow you to easily switch between social media accounts when scheduling posts.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

Make it easier to switch between social media accounts for quick scheduling.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automate social media posts for clients.

  ### 28. Great way to plan your social media post!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan M. | Sr. Recruiter, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 11, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

I love Buffer because I can spend 30 minutes and plan out my weekly posts.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

Nothing, It is a great tool that I have used for 4 years. I have used the pay and the free versions.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Buffer allows me to have a larger than life social media presence without spending all day working on it. I can plan for a few days ahead and buffer posts automatically.

**Official Response from Alfred Lua:**

> Hi, Ryan, thank you so much for the kind review and continuous support! If you have any other feedback, please feel free to share it with us (or me at alfred@buffer.com). Thanks.

  ### 29. Great for team usage

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sophie O. | Youth Development and Community Outreach Coordinator, Civic & Social Organization, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

I love how my teammates can all have access to our buffer timelines so we can strategize our posting strategy. Also, the ability to have a third party app post to Instagram for us is amazing. The interface is also very aesthetically pleasing which is important for me.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

I want there to be some better insights about what's working and what's not. If possible, I would like for the ability to post Instagram stories.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our organization was blasting out content and news to social way too often and things were getting messy. Buffer let those without a background in social media marketing see the need to space out content.

**Official Response from Alfred Lua:**

> Thanks so much for the awesome review, Sophie! I'm very glad to hear that you and your team are enjoying using Buffer together. If you are up for sharing, I would love to hear more about what insights might be helpful for you. You can email me at alfred@buffer.com. Thanks!

  ### 30. Minimal functionality, confusing interface

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2019

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

I like being able to post to multiple channels at once.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

Other systems I've used (i.e. HootSuite) offer a lot more functionality and are easier to use. Buffer has an outdated UI that's clunky and annoying.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

Use something else.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Social media management

  ### 31. Excellent product, simple to use, easy scheduler

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gail G. | Freelance Social Media Consultant, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 05, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

You can set custom times for posting and just add your posts to the queue. Easy to use!

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

You can’t just schrdule one post multiple times, they’d have to be individually posted.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

Great especially for one client so you can use the free version

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Saves time scheduling to different platforms and the analytics are in one place. Analytics are basic though.

  ### 32. Solid for beginners, but not comprehensive

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sara N. | SEO Coordinator, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 20, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

Buffer is easy to use, and best of all they provide killer content on their blog offering everything you need to totally crush your social media and content marketing. The free version isn't anything fancy, but it's easy to use and covers what you need. Additional plans aren't super expensive, but they also aren't as comprehensive as other tools.

Analytics for paid plans show best and worst performing posts based on engagement (for retweets, favorites, replies, likes, comments, clicks, reach, and post type). You can also export for easier analysis, for reporting, for additional review, etc.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

Buffer is extremely straightforward, but provides less bang for your buck compared to bigger tools like Hootsuite.

It also contains an automatic link shortener which "Buffer-brands" all your links, which is a bit annoying.

Analytics on the free version are limited and the lack of monitoring tools likely means you'll need to add a second tool to your repertoire. The free version also makes it difficult to recycle posts, which can be frustrating.

Really the bottom line is that Buffer — even a paid version — isn't comprehensive enough for a super serious marketer or large team. It would likely need to be combined with other tools, which can be cumbersome.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

Free version is great for simple/limited scheduling across platforms.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The free version is pretty solid if your social budget is zilch. You just can't schedule more than 10 posts per platform.

  ### 33. Instagram integration doesn't work properly

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 03, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

I like how quick and easy it is to post to your social media accounts (except Instagram) according to a pred-defined schedule. Buffer was one of the first to do this, but I imagine it's table stakes now.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

I dislike that the Instagram integration doesn't work even though it's being advertised. When I reach out to customer success, they send a long list of complicated instructions to fix it. I went through them, which fixed it before a day, and then the integration broke again.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

Buffer is great unless your company also posts to Instagram

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes managing multiple social media accounts more manageable.

**Official Response from Alfred Lua:**

> Hi, there, thank you for the honest review of Buffer. I'm sorry that our Instagram integration hasn't been working well for you. Our team will be glad to look into this again for you (though I understand it is frustrating). Thank you for bearing with us.

  ### 34. Buffer is good overall- has some flaws though

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

I like the convenience of scheduling out posts ahead of time and how you can schedule the exact time.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

I hate that you can't attach GIFs to your Buffer posts. I also don't like that Buffer will sometimes disconnect and you won't receive a notification that this happened until it's too late. When my colleague reached out to Buffer to complain about this, they simply said that it's a bug that they're working on fixing.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It definitely makes scheduling out social media more convenient

  ### 35. Control all of your social media platforms in one place!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Dairy | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 11, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

Buffer is an awesome way to create, track, organize, and schedule posts to multiple social media platforms all at the same time. Despite the streamlined process, you can still customize a post to each platform in order to add hashtags.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

I did not like that I can not see any interactions we have from viewers or comments from people like we could in the previous software we used for social media.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

Try it out! It was free for a certain level of membership and if you decide to go with it then you can move up in plans. It's risk-free.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Buffer to streamline our social media presence. It allows us to maintain a presence online but doesn't take up half the day like it used to.

  ### 36. Effective social media posting

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Networking | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

The interface is very user friendly and it’s easy to change between social media platforms.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

There is a limit on how many posts you can have on Buffer, and you have to pay a premium for that. Also, Buffer does not produce picture web links on Twitter.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

Free trial is worth it, not so sure about paid version.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Buffer helps me spread business related content to attract more customers.

  ### 37. Buffer Works!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 09, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

I appreciate that it is easy and simple to use. I haven't had much problem loading documents that differ in size.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

For the amount and reasons that I use it, I haven't found too much to dislike. If I had to choose, maybe that it doesn't cater to all social platforms and also don't have more options that are particular with Buffer but hey it's free.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

Buffer covers the most used social platforms. I have not have too much experience with Hootsuite or Tweetdeck. I haven't had much setbacks with Buffer and for preplanning posts, I have stuck with it for the most part.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I love the aspect of being able to pre-plan your posts. It's a time saver for sure.

  ### 38. Feature rich social media platform, if you pay

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott D. | MD, Hospital & Health Care, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

My favorite feature of Buffer is their buffer links which make articles shorter, while still including the featured image for the article. It is also a nice way to post all of your social media posts in one platform. I also love the calendar feature which allows me to easily see when my social media posts are scheduled. Buffer makes my life a lot easier.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

One of my biggest gripes about Buffer is the limitations in the free tier. With some comparable platforms, you can connect them to a reader/RSS to funnel articles into your social media platforms, but it is a paid feature with Buffer, which I find annoying. There are some workarounds, such as using Zapier with a reader such as Inoreader.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

Check out other competitors like Smarterqueue and Hootsuite. Personally, Smarterqueue is my favorite of the bunch (it's newer but has some interesting features).

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Buffer is allowing me to stay relevant on my social media platforms for my business without spending a lot of time making individual posts. I stay time and keep my social impact.

  ### 39. Best way to manage your social medias

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ilaria B. | Organizzatore di eventi, Performing Arts, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

I really like Buffer, I can manage my Facebook business page, my Twitter and schedule my Instagram. I use the social medias to improve and boost my business. I like the fact that I can schedule posts and understand what is the best time to post for my audience (thanks to the Buffer analisys of the active audience). I also love the insights offered by Buffer about the performances of the posts.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

The iPhone app it's a little bit confusing. I prefer to use the browser version of Buffer. You can easily set up posts and manage your profiles. It can be difficult from the app.
Also would be great if there were the opportunity to comment and reply to comments directly from Buffer.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

Do not waste your time in using a single social profile at time. Try to work properly using Buffer, it can help you improving your social media presence and saving your time.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Istead of using all the different social medias separately, I can use just Buffer to manage all of them. And when you run a business related to events, as mine is, it's essential to have everything in one place, to perfectly create your social media schedule. And also Buffer helps me to save time, dedicating myself to work.

  ### 40. Simple and efficient

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amar J. | Head Of Business Operations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

It's simple layout. Buffer is one tool that packs so much functionality with a clean layout. It also offers a mobile app which makes it very convenient.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

The free plan has a limit of just 3 accounts now and the pricing is also a bit on the expensive side

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

Start with the free plan and I'd suggest that you scout the market before going into the paid plans. I see that there are a lot more such tools coming up in the market

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helped me save a lot of time and also helped me have my social media activities efficient

**Official Response from Alfred Lua:**

> Hi, Amar, thank you for your review, and your feedback on our pricing. I agree with you that it'll be great to test out a few other tools before committing to a paid plan. There are many great social media management tools out there, and each has its own advantages (and disadvantages) depending on one's needs.

  ### 41. Great scheduling platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

Its simple to use, and offers great value. They also have a great company culture and are very transparent about their pay, diversity, etc.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

Now that they are compatible with Instagram I don't dislike anything about it at all!

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

I would recommend getting started with the free version first to give it a try. Buffer also offers Pablo which is great for editing photos to attach to your social posts.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving our social media scheduling, editing, and analytics problems with the use of Buffer

**Official Response from Alfred Lua:**

> Thanks for the great review of our product and company. We're grateful to have you as a customer.

  ### 42. Great social media multi-platofrm sharing tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

It's free! I like that it offers scheduling for posts, but more than that I appreciate that it picks times for posts on its own that are based on the usage stats for the various social media sites you link to your account.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

I dislike that it is struggling to post to Instagram. Instagram is difficult enough to use from a desk job perspective. You have to use it on a phone/tablet, and that adds another step to sharing. They recently updated to include IG posting and scheduling, but we have not had success with this feature. It works some of the time, but other times it sends a reminder to log into IG and share the post. All too often, the post if MIA from Buffer at this point.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

Think about the possibilities of it -- easy to customize messages to platforms.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The best thing is that it allows to schedule out multiple posts across several social media sites in one sitting. This is great for when we have a lot of stories and news to share!

  ### 43. Buffer to manage your social profiles at the best

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marianna P. | Artista, Apparel & Fashion, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

I like that I can manage my business social profiles at once. Also it's great because Buffer scan your audience to check and find the right time to post. You can of course program the posts so you do not have to follow every profile every minute.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

The instagram function is just a reminder for you to post, not an actual posting feat.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

There is a basic free version that you can use. I reccomend you to try it and see how great Buffer is.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Buffer is what I ever needed to manage my social media profiles. As a jewels sellers we always like to post pics and videos about our products, behind the scene on how we create jewels, and posts about promotions. Buffer helps me to program and post everything at the right time. I use it to manage the Facebook page and Instagram page of our business.

  ### 44. Quite An Effective Social Media Sharing Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ankur S. | Content Marketing - Southeast Asia, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

The ease of use is phenomenal, especially how one can draft a single post for all three major Social Media sharing platforms -- Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter. Also, it makes it very easy to track the engagement on your content in the form on reports and analytics. The team takes feedback very encouragingly. I'm happy that they've also added Instagram as a Social Media channel as well. Overall, it's doing what it says.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

The tool isn't really seamless, gives errors out of the blue. The support isn't the best either. A lot of things could be improved regarding the robustness of the product. The tool is also very pricey for no reason, I'll be making a switch as soon as I get a better deal in the same price. Pay around $10/month just for the basic plan. Perhaps if they can price the same one around $5 a month it would really make sense to use this tool. Apart from these minor drawbacks, it's good enough.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

Please make sure you'll be able to get the value out of the money you pay.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Social sharing across the three major platforms from one place, one point. This is the only major benefit I've realized till now. I believe the team has a lot of scope to improve this product and add more features in alignment with the problems Social Media marketers face currently. They have Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram right now, would be great if they also added channels such as Google+, Pinterest, Quora etc.

  ### 45. Free, Easy Limited

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospitality | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

I like how it's easy to use. You can set up an account in minutes and post easily to multiple channels (Twitter, FB, IG and more) Also, allows you to make times for posts to go out every day. (i.e. 5pm every Monday)

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

That it limits how much you post. So if you use the free version, you can only post up to 5 times per day

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to go to one place and upload posts for IG and Twitter, so I don't have to log on to those accounts when I want to make a post. Saves time and is convenient.

  ### 46. Buffer Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gabe C. | Account Executive, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

It is the best service to integrate all of your social media accounts into one place.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

It does not integrate with Instagram and LinkedIn very well.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

Do not expect LinkedIn and Instagram to be fully optimized for your business. They have had several issues with scheduling my posts as well.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This service has simplified my job, and freed up more time for other things.

  ### 47. Great for handling different social media accounts

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jovana S. | Photographer, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

Calendar. It's easy to buffer plenty of posts to be published! You can easily change the time zone so working for clients on different continents is not an issue.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

The design. It's clean but not that nice. Also, some options happen to stop working and start working by themselves.
Their support is available only on Twitter. It's not 24/7.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

It's good for scheduling posts and you can set those for different time zones.
However, the brand's mission is not clear to me, they aren't big on socializing, improvements, design, etc.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

#1 saving time on scheduling and posting content on social media
#2 saving time on creating calendars for social media

**Official Response from Alfred Lua:**

> Hi, there, Jovana, thank you for taking the time to write us a review. I'm sorry that some options are not working as well as they should be. When it happens again, would you be up for emailing us at hello@buffer.com? We would love to take a look and help (and sorry that it wasn't clear; we're very happy to support you via email, too). Thanks for the feedback, Jovana.

  ### 48. Best Planning Tool for Social

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Faith B. | Marketing Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

I love that I can easily move around posts. Life comes at me fast–one minute, my day is free, and the next, I'm suddenly working late tonight. Being able to find and curate content in Buffer that will be posted when I want it posted is HUGE for me.

I also love that Buffer lets me use the best optimized time , or I can set the time for whenever my message needs to be sent out. What a help!

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

I think there is room for grown in data and analytics. The feedback we get from Buffer isn't as helpful as I wish it could be–and honestly, in this day and age of real-time analytics, should be included (at very least in the paid subscription, which I use) for users of the platform.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

Try it! The free platform provides a GREAT view of what the paid platform looks like. You'll love it!

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scheduling! My goodness, Buffer helps so much with keeping our schedule running, giving us alerts if a feed is out of posts, and helping keep my social media game taken care of.

**Official Response from Alfred Lua:**

> Thanks for the amazing feedback, Faith! I'm glad that Buffer has been able to help you with your work. If you are up for it, I would love to hear how you think we could improve the data and analytics. For example, what would you like to see? Thank you for your help! :)

  ### 49. Good but could be better

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Religious Institutions | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2018

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

I like the ability to schedule content in advance, either according to a set posting schedule or a custom time that I choose.

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

The scope of what you can post with Buffer is very narrow. For example, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter all support combining multiple images into one post, but Buffer can only publish one image per post.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

Especially for the free version, it's definitely worth trying!

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest benefit I have realized is the ability to be posting content when our followers are online without having to actually be working at that time (since it's often in the evenings).

  ### 50. Buffer is AMAZING!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2019

**What do you like best about Buffer?**

The social media editorial calendar planning and auto-posting, plus renarkabke newsletter content

**What do you dislike about Buffer?**

I haven’t found a thing about Buffer I don’t love. I promote it in nearly every class I teach.

**Recommendations to others considering Buffer:**

Don’t wait. This product is excellent.

**What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Social media management, time efficiency, continuous online presence, integrated platform messaging
