"Brightspot allows us to post dynamic content with ease in all our different digital platforms."
4/5
What do you like best about Brightspot?

Brightspot is indeed a shining star due to its amazing flexibility as a content management system. Its customizable content modeling, where we can define our own specific content types to exactly match our purpose, not limiting us to a few templates, is something we love too. Its multi-channel publishing features are also of premium quality; it is very easy to spread content to our site, our mobile app, and even to our partners in a central hub. The user-friendly editorial process also radically accelerates our content approval process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brightspot?

The only thing that has left me uneasy about Brightspot is the first set-up and configuration which is at times rather complex and consuming of resources. Customizing the platform to particular needs can sometimes need a lot of developer skill to completely customize it to the needs of that specific requirement, as opposed to a plain out-of-the-box implementation. This may be a challenge to teams that do not have specific development support. Besides, smaller organizations may be concerned with cost structure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Brightspot has our infrastructure stability through the roof."
4.5/5
What do you like best about Brightspot?

Brightspot has also enabled me to categorize various pieces of content such as event listings and employee profiles with ease and without the fear of them being mixed together. I also prefer that I can configure precisely the fields that I require, which further ensures that our data is clean and consistent. Permission settings are clear and I understand, the right individuals are doing the right things in the right locations. All in all, it has made the management of our content a lot easier and kept our team on track. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brightspot?

Although Brightspot is robust, there is a steep learning curve on high-feature aspects. At times, locating the very place of a certain customization is like going on a treasure hunt. Also, the interface, though being generally clean, might provide more visual indications on complex configurations. It is not a dealbreaker, but a bit of additional information on how to be set up initially would be helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"All-in-One Content Creation with Strong Scheduling and Approval Tools"
4/5
What do you like best about Brightspot?

I like how Brightspot organizes content creation and publishing in one platform. I use it for managing articles, media, and workflows, which keeps everything organized. The number of features around scheduling and content approval is what I value most because it helps avoid mistakes. It also integrates well with our editorial processes, allowing us to assign tasks and track progress easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brightspot?

I find it can be limiting when managing unique or non standard content layouts. Some processes require additional steps to achieve the right design. These limitations can slow progress and sometimes add stress during project deadlines. Standard workflows are fine, but special cases take extra attention and effort from the team. "Versatile with Good Extensibility, but Some Legacy Challenges"
4/5
What do you like best about Brightspot?

I think the platform worked well for us. It's important for us to be able to administer the various sites, and the permissions are pretty good. The extensibility is great, as within their framework, you can do almost anything. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brightspot?

The system has been put together over many years, supporting lots of different clients, leading to some aspects feeling like an afterthought or outdated from current patterns. The development team is responsive in improving these areas, though maybe not as quickly as we'd like. Also, as just one client among many, our priorities aren't always aligned with the platform's priorities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great Capabilities, But Needs Polished Features"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Brightspot?

I value the capabilities of Brightspot, especially the various ways it allows users to manage their websites easily once they understand the system. It's great for curating lists of articles and creating impactful pages. I like the ability to use shared modules (and recent-ish ability to transition an existing module to shared and vice versa) and use tagged pages/sections coupled with 'current tags' on article lists, it's a time saver that helps quickly producing lots of pages with relevant items. What do you dislike about Brightspot?

We have some BSP-built items that have been in some stage unfinished or broken since we migrated in 2020, and they were never really fixed by BSP. We replaced a few of these items with simple embeds and hired our own internal development team to address some of the issues but it took years to rebuild what we thought we were getting from BSP upon migration. "Great Custom Approval Workflows, but the UI Feels Clunky"
3/5
What do you like best about Brightspot?

I like the custom workflows you can build for content approvals. I also like that you can copy pages and articles to work from when creating new content. You can also create tables within an article to show data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brightspot?

I find the UI a little clunky. To edit content on a page or article, you have to go through a lot of clicking to get into the actual text editing portion. Updating images/replacing imagery can be tricky as it requires a few different steps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Multilingual Publishing with Fast Setup"
5/5
What do you like best about Brightspot?

I use Brightspot for creating multilingual and localized content for a global audience, which is really helpful. I like that it allows me to schedule content to publish automatically, solving my issue with inconsistent publishing schedules. I appreciate the content version history and audit trails that Brightspot provides. Additionally, the initial setup was fast, making it easy to get started. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brightspot?

I think Brightspot could improve by expanding third-party integration with more marketing and analytics tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Clear editorial coordination for large content teams"
4/5
What do you like best about Brightspot?

The best part of Brightspot is the editorial organization of the team responsibilities in my opinion. I collaborate with writers, product managers and marketing specialists and the platform enables all to know what content they are to deal with. The task assignments and approval phases are extremely useful in terms of campaign preparation. It also tracks the person that edited what, as this prevents misunderstandings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brightspot?

A problem that I have encountered with Brightspot is that certain tasks involve multiple steps to be carried out in publishing, and they can be tiresome when one faces a hectic day. The marketing team needs to switch screens to complete one product update at times when making various product announcements. It does not prevent us to work, but it decreases the pace of content preparation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Empowers Marketing to Build and Update Landing Pages Fast—Plus an Easy API"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Brightspot?

Marketing can come in and create landing pages, update content, move blocks around etc., all without creating a ticket for development or waiting on them. I am writing this and my coffee is getting cold...but honestly it is one of those products that once you "click" it will really click. Also the API was simple enough that integrating it into our front end was not a huge task - worked well with what we had. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brightspot?

Back-end configurations can be somewhat finicky if you want to do anything outside of normal configurations. Petty complaint, but the UI can significantly lag on larger projects, nothing is going to kill you, just an annoyance when you are trying to work quickly. The price increases between levels for additional users are quite steep if you are a small team looking for only a few more user accounts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Organized content publishing across busy marketing departments"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Brightspot?

The best thing about Brightspot is that it will assist me in sorting out a massive amount of content in our e-commerce editorial section of the website. The product stories, purchasing recommendations, and promotional pages are handled by me, and the features are numerous to make it easy to control permissions and delegate tasks to authors. The execution was similar with our already existing marketing tools and as such we did not have to re-establish our working system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brightspot?

The most frustrating aspect of Brightspot is dealing with technical side of it. As we depend on the integration with such systems as Salesforce and marketing tools, minor problems may be observed following updates. That breaks my regular frequency of use since I have to ensure that nothing is going wrong. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
