## Brightspot Reviews
 ### 1. Excellent Support and Training with End-to-End Website Design & Hosting

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason Z. | Digital Marketing Manager @ Odyssey Group, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Brightspot?**

Their support staff has been excellent, providing both creative and technical help, along with training and guidance for my team in learning the CMS. Another deciding factor in choosing them as a vendor was that they could both design and host our company’s websites.

**What do you dislike about Brightspot?**

There have been a few instances where we’ve needed to put together a statement of work (SOW) to build custom features within the CMS for front-end display, as well as to ensure certain modules function the way we intended.

**What problems is Brightspot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to create shared pages and modules across sites reduces the time it takes to update content that appears in multiple places. Before Brightspot, the CMS we used was very cumbersome and made even simple edits feel like a chore. Brightspot’s user interface is much more streamlined; using modules to structure webpages keeps things organized, and the live preview makes it easier to create, review, and edit content as you go.

 ### 2. Easy-to-Use Modules That Make Building and Teaching Websites Simple

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jericho A. C. | Adjunct Faculty - Digital Marketing, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Brightspot?**

I've been using module systems to create websites for a very long time. I enjoy the ease of use for each module. For the most part, stylizations and general RTE editing can all be found in the same place. This makes it easy for me to use, but also teaching others to use it.

**What do you dislike about Brightspot?**

I'm frustrated when I run into simple bugs that interupt modules from working like they should. I understand this is likely caused because of the custom work we've had you do, but we often don't find these issues until after the 90 day window for fixing things. Then we're stuck having to pay again for a fix that should have been part of the original work. I hope that makes sense.

Long story short, we have a long list of silly bugs we've had to learn to deal with because we need to save our budget for more improtant things. The list of bugs we wish we didn't have to deal with includes:
* Promo text stylization not working
* Custom text on event buttons not being editable
* Promo Card description text not changing to white when selecting our brand blue color for the card

There are more and they aren't major problems, but looking at them altogether it's not very fun.

**What problems is Brightspot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The best problem Brightspot is solving for is helping us be prepared for the future. The technology will change the landscape of what websites need to do and how they serve user needs. It's vital for us to have a patner that is looking ahead and can help us work today for that future.

I also really like the working relationship we have with Ben Randall. We see him as a vital part of our team. I don't know what we would do without this kind of working relationship. He allows us to be candid in our feedback and he is very knowledgeable in pointing us in better directions where needed.

 ### 3. Brightspot’s Flexible Workflows Make High-Quality Content Delivery Effortless

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrés M. | Front-End Development Analyst I, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Brightspot?**

What I like best about Brightspot is its flexibility and efficiency. It allows me to manage, organize, and deliver high-quality content across the channel smoothly. The ability to customize workflows and templates makes our production faster and ensures everything meets our editorial standards.

**What do you dislike about Brightspot?**

One thing I find challenging about Brightspot is that some of the more advanced features come with a learning curve, especially when you’re customizing workflows or templates. That said, once you get used to it, the platform becomes very powerful and efficient. On the downside, our website has gone down twice in the last four months.

**What problems is Brightspot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Brightspot helps solve the challenge of managing and delivering large volumes of content efficiently. It organizes all our editorial assets, streamlines workflows, and allows us to publish high-quality content across multiple platforms quickly. This benefits me by saving time, reducing errors, and ensuring our productions meet the channel’s standards.

 ### 4. Brightspot: Streamlined Content Management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Brightspot?**

I really like Brightspot because the UX is clean and easy for users. As an admin user, I especially appreciate the easy-to-configure tools around users, roles, and workflows. The new AI features are also powerful and enable valuable workflow enhancements for content production. I find it very valuable to provide users with pre-built prompts that add assurance to our workflows, such as the ability to review content against our full document corpus to check for any contradictions or omissions. The team was outstanding during the setup, doing a lot of bespoke work for us and truly caring about getting us the best solution.

**What do you dislike about Brightspot?**

Some of the UX around collections is frustrating and leads to repetitive errors. We have a bespoke headless integration around publishing that is not how I would like it to be, but this limitation is more of our doing than a limitation of the Brightspot platform.

**What problems is Brightspot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Brightspot to manage over 400,000 documents, providing powerful search and editing tools, workflow enhancements with AI features, and a user-friendly experience for analysts, improving our content production and analysis quality.

 ### 5. Intuitive CMS with Moderate Migration Challenges

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Juan Carlos R. | Website & SEO Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2026

**What do you like best about Brightspot?**

I use Brightspot as a Content Management System to manage our business brands, and it allows my team to easily create, edit, and publish digital content. I appreciate Brightspot for offering an impressive balance between out-of-the-box functionality and flexible content modeling capabilities. The native workflow engine aligns well with our editorial processes, and the platform is designed for ease of use and efficiency. It's intuitive and easy to use, making it accessible for my team without extensive technical knowledge. Additionally, I like that Brightspot provides enterprise-grade security and compliance.

**What do you dislike about Brightspot?**

Even though Brightspot provided an excellent hands-on support experience from one of their product managers, our site rollouts for migrations have been rather lackluster. Brightspot claimed that our WordPress sites could easily be migrated to their API-first architecture, but it seemed that the planned headless implementation project took longer than expected. After working on 8 weeks of the migration of one of our sites, we still haven't finished the projected plan. The project management team needs better communication, cooperation and coordination between clients and suppliers so that the expected timeline can be met. Promising a timeline and then having to face continuous delays is not an ok interaction.

**What problems is Brightspot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Brightspot for managing content, allowing my team to easily create, edit, and publish digital content. It solves problems like inconsistent brand experience, operational inefficiency, outdated security, and growth barriers by balancing functionality and flexible content modeling.

 ### 6. Streamlined Communication Hub with Efficient Workflow Automation Is The Best Strength Of Brightspot

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jorge M. | Senior security analyst, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Brightspot?**

Several things that I like with Brightspot is the automated workflow engine, because it makes my work easy. I can set up a complex chain of command approval, and it ensures everything follows the proper channel and gets the required approvals before publishing. This makes the workflow efficient by showing me the step-by-step process, so I don't miss anyone's sign-off. Another thing I appreciate is the out-of-the-box social integration, which made the initial rollout very smooth. We were able to link our corporate LinkedIn and Twitter accounts in minutes, allowing our social team to start drafting and scheduling external posts directly from the CMS on the first day of implementation.

**What do you dislike about Brightspot?**

I have some dislikes, and one of them is the initial learning curve for the "Dari" team framework, which is the underlying data modeling layer. It's quite steep for our back-end developers. I would love to see more low-code ways to modify the task schema without needing to dive deep into the Java-based back-end architecture for every edit that I want to change.

**What problems is Brightspot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Brightspot to distribute critical updates and policy documents globally, solving manual distribution issues. Its automated workflow engine streamlines approvals, ensuring compliance without missing steps.

 ### 7. Centralized Asset Management with Brightspot Is Quite Easy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nacsaj I. | Human Resource Exec 2, Internet, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Brightspot?**

What I like the most is the Brightspot toolkit, especially the browser extension. It allows me to audit SEO and accessibility directly on the live site without needing to switch back to the admin dashboard, which saves me time and speeds up my workflow. I also enjoy the new AB testing dashboard because I can run content experiments on our homepage headlines and see results in real-time without requiring any developer assistance. Additionally, the Brightspot tours feature was essential for our nontechnical staff during the rollout. It provided self-guided, role-based workflows that significantly cut down our total onboarding time.

**What do you dislike about Brightspot?**

The initial content modeling piece is quite a heavy lift and requires a very clear plan for your data architecture before you even begin the install. If you don't have technical leads to help map how your content types relate to each other, the sheer flexibility of the system can feel a bit overwhelming and it's easy to overcomplicate it.

**What problems is Brightspot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Brightspot as a centralized newsroom and asset library, solving outdated branding issues by ensuring all departments use approved, updated media. It locks brand elements and pushes updates globally, maintaining consistent visual identity across microsites.

 ### 8. Seamless Publishing Across Channels with Brightspot

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Izfar H. | Marketing Executive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Brightspot?**

What I love about Brightspot is they are perfect platform for managing our channel publishing strategy, especially for distributing content across web properties, mobile apps, and social media feeds simultaneously. It serves as a single source of truth that fits our business front end display without needing to reformat content for each device screen. I also appreciate the real-time collaboration editing, allowing multiple writers and editors to work on the same piece of content without being physically together, which simplifies my day by showing exactly who is making changes in real time. This feature has eliminated the need for checking revisions through external documents. Additionally, the article processing time is shortened, making it easier and faster to approve articles. The integration process was surprisingly seamless, and the Brightspot team provided a clear framework for mapping our historical data, which allowed us to migrate thousands of legacy articles into the new environment in about seven days.

**What do you dislike about Brightspot?**

While the platform is incredibly flexible, the data modeling can be quite complex to wrap your head around at first. I'd like to see more interactive visual tutorials for setting up custom content tabs, as the current technical documentation can be a bit dense for those who aren't familiar with GraphQL.

**What problems is Brightspot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Brightspot to manage our publishing strategy, solving content fragmentation by unifying our systems, which eases cross-referencing. The real-time collaboration simplifies editing, speeds up processing, and removes the need for external document revisions.

 ### 9. Brightspot’s Flexible Drag-and-Drop Builder Makes Multichannel Publishing Easy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joao V. | Sales Operations Specialist, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Brightspot?**

Brightspot has a bunch of amazing content flexibility that really changes everything you can do with it. I love the drag and drop page builder because it lets us make custom layouts which feel simple and fast to get done. The multi channel publishing feature is great, we could put our stuff on website, app, or social media all at once without having to redo any of it.

**What do you dislike about Brightspot?**

There’s the learning curve for new people who want to use it, they do need some time and maybe extra help from specialists which is annoying. And also, we got an admin panel that can be kind of slow if lots of users are on it or has too many pictures saved up. It isn't a deal breaker though, but sometimes you just want to get rid of those little issues so you don't waste any time with them.

**What problems is Brightspot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Now, Brightspot is the best thing ever happen to our content process, we went from being stuck together here forever. Back then, lots of people were wasting time on their phones and computers which was all over the place, leaving us stressed out by delays everywhere. But now everything goes into one spot that’s easy for everyone to use called Brightspot so you don't have to worry about it anymore. We can get our content online at hand across every channel, plus we save time from hours down to just a few minutes.

 ### 10. Brightspot: Intuitive CMS with Robust Features and a Learning Curve

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Muaaz H. | Customer Support Agent Tier ll, Environmental Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Brightspot?**

I love how intuitive, dashboard-style interface in Brightspot that makes it easy for non-technical editors to build pages using modular components. It simplifies my work with built-in SEO tools and AI-powered productivity features that automate metadata generation and content tagging. I also appreciate the Dell Media Desk features, which streamline how we search for and repurpose assets from our massive content library without ever leaving the platform.

**What do you dislike about Brightspot?**

My dislike with Brightspot is that some of the more advanced customization options come with a fairly steep learning curve, which can be intimidating for new team members. The platform should improve by making its documentation more accessible for beginners and simplify the initial process of configuring custom workflows. Also, I have noticed the backend interface can occasionally experience slight lag when we are managing large datasets or complex permissions simultaneously.

**What problems is Brightspot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Brightspot solves our issues with rigid templates and developer reliance by allowing independent content management from design. It eliminates chaos from managing multiple sites, enabling us to oversee our digital ecosystem with multisite management features.
