easy to bill claims, easy to remeber the process of starting a new patient

Tops up too many tabs and having to use all the tabs for something else. You have to be careful make sure that you information is saved sometimes it wont save none of your scans or notes

overall its great little issue here and there but so far nothing major

**What do you like best about Brightree HME / DME?**

I use it most for adding "generic insurances" we have a lot of people in our billing department who have different rolls so I mainly verify primary, secondary, and sometimes tertiary insurances. I like that everything is in one page and within tabs so it's so so easy to navigate. If the patients insurance is ineligible, I can send a letter to their home as well.

**What do you dislike about Brightree HME / DME?**

Honestly theres not much I dislike, I would say sometimes I open the account more than once so I can have the notes tab and insurance tab open at the same time, so it would be cool to be able to touch the name and open another one possibly?

**What problems is Brightree HME / DME solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps with all aspects of our company, billing the patients, having claims go out, sending letters to the patients, being able to see the sales order and recalculate and rebill if needed or if there was a change in insurance that we already billed for, we can write dates of service off if the wrong insurance was billed etc etc. just a fantastic system

**What do you like best about Brightree HME / DME?**

That this is a DME/HME specific software made for the industry. There is a lot that can be done in the software like billing, ordering, inventory, and insurance validation. However, it's somewhat difficult to get from one part to another. The flow is not easy.

**What do you dislike about Brightree HME / DME?**

This is an unnecessarily difficult software to learn. It hasn't had many software updates in many years. It looks very much like the old-school 00s versions and lacks customizable features that make sense. For instance, there aren't ways to put in comments or notes, add multiple addresses for a single doctor--linking them all together. The system does not find duplicate patients. It doesn't have modern features that make sense. Even the search features are lacking and I often find myself searching through orders for no reason. Solving problems is difficult because the software doesn' t have built-in solutions. One must hunt and open scores of pop-up tabs. I've worked with many medical EHRs and this has been the most difficult simply because of the lack of features and updates put into it making things easier. It's there. They just haven't done it.

Look into other options and see if those fit your needs. This frequently has issues with the cloud and support is not good and solving problems.

It's a mostly all-in-one software with some exceptions of needing to go outside and add additional documentation which can be an unnecessary challenge. But the software tries.

**What do you like best about Brightree HME / DME?**

Brightree is an incredibly detailed software, which makes it great for businesses focused on providing medical equipment via a business model based on billing insurance companies. For small companies with a small number of employees, this software makes billing efficient and accurate. It's truly a full-featured solution for billing that is far above offline solutions.

**What do you dislike about Brightree HME / DME?**

Brightree lags far behind other retail software when it comes to mobility, ease of use, and point of sale interactions. It makes retail-focused business second-guess the expense of the software in favor of the numerous other solutions available on the market for far less money. The software was originally designed for Internet Explorer only and just recently became compatible with other browsers. The point of sale software is Windows-only and has no true mobile element. Credit card processing is locked in with a provider that is slow-paying and has poor back-office access. Finally, I believe there should be better mobility and universal device compatibility for the expense involved with this product.

**Recommendations to others considering Brightree HME / DME:**

Brightree is a highly-involved software with a steep learning curve. It's not geared toward business with a retail model, but rather businesses with a business model focused on billing insurance companies for the products they provide.  If you're looking for a solution with a nimble, easy-to-use mobile element, Brightree is not for you. If you have a small budget for software, this Brightree is also not for you (it's similar to the cost of paying a part-time employee for billing).

**What problems is Brightree HME / DME solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our business uses Brightree solely for its high-performing insurance billing functionality. As a small company, this software - despite its expense - allows us to efficiently bill insurance companies for the products we provide while maintaining a small staff. This software works because our staff is all versed in how to use it. If the entire staff is not well-versed with insurance and billing, paying an individual employee to use an offline, less expensive solution may be a better option for your company.

Easy to navigate. Ability to search for information quickly for cloud-based software. Remote access.

**What do you dislike about Brightree HME / DME?**

Not all options are universal (you can print notes if needed, but you can't print a PAR task note, for example). You are required to take a screenshot, and this is not good when you are sending it in for audit reasons.

**Recommendations to others considering Brightree HME / DME:**

Excellent for Durable Medical Equipment/Home Medical Equipment record keeping and functionality

**What problems is Brightree HME / DME solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Increased revenue with electronic billing and excellent for storing documents. Less need for paper as documents can be efaxed, printed to PDF, and uploaded directly to Brightree.

The software is really easy to use and straight to the point.

I wish it was easier to run certain reports. There's some info that is needed once in awhile that you cannot easily pull up a report for, so you have to go into each patient, and it's time consuming. 

**Recommendations to others considering Brightree HME / DME:**

I would recommend it for DME companies. You can add patients, demos, and schedule deliveries/pick ups with ease, and the information is easy to find.

Getting orders to the POD is very quick and easy, so we can guarantee a quick turnaround time since there is no delay in the program.

The search tools for patients and orders is pretty robust. You can usually find the information you need fairly quickly assuming the patient is in the system correctly.

**What do you dislike about Brightree HME / DME?**

The search function for inventory items is lacking somewhat. I would like a universal search box that could search keywords across all facets (item id, vendor id, manufacturer id, item name, etc) so I could avoid multiple searches to find the inventory item I am looking for

**Recommendations to others considering Brightree HME / DME:**

It may be one of the few out there with a home medical equipment/durable medical equipment focus, it is definitely useful software just not sure if there are cheaper options out there. As a user I have been told it is not cheap software but I don't have access to pricing info.

Able to drop ship supplies to patients quickly and efficiently by linking products in bt to our distribution partner

**What do you like best about Brightree HME / DME?**

Easy to use and navigate though.  I like that we can sync our other platform with brightree and we can use multiple softwares and they all link up to brightree.  It makes it easier to find the documents.  We used to have to store our files in a separate form, but we now use Brightree documents, so we can access the patient's file and notes all by pulling up brightree.  It makes it very convenient.  

**What do you dislike about Brightree HME / DME?**

Sometimes the reports can be tricky to run.  I am not an expert about navigating through the reports and sometimes feel that I get a lot of extra information when I only want one value.  

**What problems is Brightree HME / DME solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Document scanning.  We now have everything on brightree where before we had a whole other system that we had to access patient records.  Now it is all in brightree.

I’m constantly amazed at how our company is able to use so many options within the brightree software.

Sometimes I get lost in some of the pop up screens.

We are able to manage almost every aspect of our patients RT visits, supplies, and billing.

Brightree is intuitive to industry needs and changes, manages almost your entire operations in a single system, customer service is excellent.

Many many many steps and windows required to do simple tasks.

Being able to face evolving industry standards with a software that is going To be ready for those changes is comforting.

I like that all functions of our day to day operations can be controlled and accessed within one program.

With the latest update running reports has been more difficult.

Look online at the Brightree Library- there are many training videos and tutorials on how to get the most out of your program.

I like that Brightree is easy to navigate and has a wonderful platform for purchasing.

It's petty I know, but I can't stand when my cursor crosses over one of the drop down boxes, the box drops down and remains there until the cursor crosses over the box again.

We're utilizing the e-purchasing option when placing giant orders with vendors like ResMed.  It saves a ton of time.

**What do you like best about Brightree HME / DME?**

I like that, if used to its full potential it can do almost anything for you.  You can scan items for inventory, make sales reports and even link to other companies.  Respironics is linked to Brightree so you can opt into their program and keep tabs on your patients.  I also like the electronic fax function.

**What do you dislike about Brightree HME / DME?**

The report feature could be improved.  There have been times I would like to see how much of a certain product has gone out and it is confusing on how to make that report.

Integrate the Retail section and get a scanner

Our old system could not do half of what this does.  One problem we had before was everyone was able to do their own thing in the system.  Brightree has streamlined that and also now we can WIP jobs to people so we can see who is working on it after we have done our part of the ticket.  We also have a problem with tracking our sales leads and are working more now in the marketing area and it seems to be improving.

**What do you like best about Brightree HME / DME?**

I really love Brightree!  Many say it is an overkill system with all its bells and whistles but it really is very user friendly and the customer support is fantastic.  All the extra apps and the ability to modify it to fit your business needs is unmatched in the industry. There are many safety precautions built into the system so that even the most novice employee can use the system without making many mistakes.
Fee schedules are automatically uploaded quarterly so there's no worries there. ICD 10 is a breeze to input. Easily interface with any clearinghouse to know your claims went to the correct payer and was approved or rejected on the front end.
All reports are phenomenal and can be customized to your liking. 

**What do you dislike about Brightree HME / DME?**

The system is very easy to use, there's not much to dislike.  There are a few glitches with the apps on the iPads but nothing we can't fix by calling customer support.
There are a LOT of buttons everyone wants to push and everyone needs to be set up individually to reflect their role in the system. It takes a while to actually set up but it is worth the time.

**Recommendations to others considering Brightree HME / DME:**

Yes, please take a look at their trials and see for yourself! Their representatives can be a bit pushy but they are great at getting you familiar with the program before you purchase so you know what you're getting into.

**What problems is Brightree HME / DME solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a medium sized DME company and Brightree solves all our business needs. The benefits of having patient's sign documents on the iPads and having an integrated EMR system is perfect for our record keeping.
