There are also a ton of different products to use. initiative landing pages and submission forms are quite customizable. Their hackathon template / product seems to be well thought out. **What do you dislike about Brightidea Innovation Management?** Brightidea's use beyond simple idea submission and very simple judging and tracking is quite limited. Bringing in a casual user to the platform as a reviewer or one off initiative pipeline manager is extremely difficult because of how unintuitive the system is. It appears from the outside that the system has quite a lot of technical debt from development over the years. Built in system metrics are quite limited, not very customizable, and often the selectors act up. If you would like to export data from the platform to build your own dashboard, you will have the joy of contenting with 3-4 different excel exports to get your data and then piece it back together into one cohesive story. For a non experienced user - it is very hard to get familiar with the platform quickly and spun up on tasks. Completing action items often leads you through 4-5 different screens and the process ends up being rather disorienting. This often lead to my initiative sponsors trying to use the brightidea platform, but ultimately asking for their submissions in an export to review and act on outside the platform. **What problems is Brightidea Innovation Management solving and how is that benefiting you?** They make it relatively easy to set up pipelines for idea submissions, which is handy. If we just made an internal form, it wouldn't guide us through the process of idea selection. ### 2. The user interface is free of clutter, predictive and visually appealing. The tool offers a number fo great features that other software we were trying to retrofit cannot compete with. The support team has been awesome and they helped us through every step of the implementation cycle, understanding oour requirements, configuring each module, creating training documentation and being on top of our wish list. I also really liek the parent/child relationship you can create between ideas. Often times we end up with similar ideas and the ability to link them together eliminates the muddiness of the infomation being scatterede between many similar ideas. The setup and manipulation fo the worflows is easy and has an easy learning curve. **What do you dislike about Brightidea Innovation Management?** The biggest fault with Bright Idea is the lack of a mobile application that is functional and easy to use. They have an app for at least iOS, but it is buggy and zero improvements hve been made on it in the last 3 years. Without this software we would have an impossible task in front of us. As we pivoted in our management strategy of ideas (targeting challenges, solutions, and pilots), BrightIdea allowed us to get creative and develop environments for these three areas separately. While the information is kept separate in these individual environments, it's easy to link ideas together to show the progression of an idea from stage to stage. **What do you dislike about Brightidea Innovation Management?** We are still working through how to work with our craft users who don't have emails and can register/log-in. Good Quick Start information and great training support which is essential given the wide range of customiztion available which can be intimidating. Customer support began with highly technical and business support members on the call to ask and answer question and to guide us to the right level of support needed quickly rather than starting with sales and escallting. Our needs were communicated internally at Bright Idea helping us to move more quickly and efficiently. **What do you dislike about Brightidea Innovation Management?** Initially, we felt like Brightidea was to large and complex for our needs. We had to go do some comparative product analysis before we could apprecitate Bright Idea. It would have been helpful to have had some competitor analysis info up front. IT support / integration was a little bumpy and was passed around a while. To be fair, our IT support availability may have contributed to delays. **What problems is Brightidea Innovation Management solving and how is that benefiting you?** We haven't rolled out yet, however our key problems are: 1) Corportate memory or ideas and quantifying Ideation efforts; 2) Lack of standard process for rating and follow through; 3) the need for transparency for idea processing to enhance participation. We belive that the flexibility of the ideation capture, standardizing our process pipeling, and the adding transparency to idea rating, stakeholder review, and selection process will enhance our Innovation efforts considerably. Brightidea gives us the capability to cull new ideas from across the corporation in a way we wouldn't be able to do otherwise. For the administrators, it's a simple tool to learn and manage, and for users, Brightidea makes it easy to submit and collaborate on ideas. For us, it's great to have a resource we can turn to to answer the question: "I have an idea for x, what do I do with that?" **What do you dislike about Brightidea Innovation Management?** The downsides to me, specifically, pertain more to the admin-side of the tool. There are definitely glitches we've grown accustomed to work around because it's almost easier that way, like adding pictures to a challenge page, header graphic dimensions, or changing font size/text/color in a Rich Text box, etc. I also seem to run into the same conversation with other admins and challenge sponsors about running excel reports, e.g. report options being kind of all over the place/having to know where to look, having to pull multiple reports for all the data you want/need and then compile them together, etc. A lot of our initiatives rely on the reporting and it makes for a less hands-off experience for the admin when they have to keep pulling reports and piece-mealing things for challenge sponsors. **What problems is Brightidea Innovation Management solving and how is that benefiting you?** We're able to crowdsource ideas virtually across our company, reaching a larger audience than we could've pre-Brightidea. ### 18. It would be really nice if you could have multiple people working in the space at the same time. There are so many different ways to collect information or ideas from employees **What problems is Brightidea Innovation Management solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are mainly using BI to collect innovative ideas within the company. We have recently used some of the timed forums, they have been very helpful. We have realized keeping an open "suggestion box" has allowed people to drop ideas in at any time. ### 50. Action Item views are set in one aspect and can not be changed. Rules have a lot of options but could use more field completions (ex: Option A chosen from multiple choice question, then execute X, Y, Z). **What problems is Brightidea Innovation Management solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are now seeing ideas that have been aging for a while and getting priority on them.
