Our accounts were deleted or suspended multiple times with little to no explanation. After going through the process of rebuilding everything and verifying the accounts again, they suspended us yet another time. This created massive operational headaches and wasted hours of work. Deliverability was also terrible. Emails consistently underperformed compared to other platforms we’ve used, even with properly configured domains and warmed infrastructure. Support was another major issue. Responses were slow, generic, and unhelpful. It often felt impossible to get a real answer or speak to someone who could actually solve the problem. Brevo fits well into several of our WordPress projects because it solves more than the marketing side of email. The Brevo for WordPress plugin can also handle the routine transactional messages generated by the site, including password resets, comment notifications, and form emails. I prefer moving that responsibility away from the web server because many hosting environments are not designed to deliver email reliably, and their logs are usually not very helpful once something goes wrong. The setup is fairly practical. We choose the sender, run a test, and route messages through Brevo SMTP without rebuilding every plugin that already relies on wp\_mail(). On sites running contact forms, LearnDash, memberships, or registered-user workflows, that saves us from creating a separate delivery setup for every notification source. It also gives the team a common place to review transactional activity instead of jumping between WordPress, the hosting panel, and several external services just to confirm whether a message was actually delivered. What problems is Brevo Marketing Platform solving and how is that benefiting you? We worked on a WooCommerce store that changed hosting after several weeks of inconsistent customer emails. Orders appeared correctly in the admin panel, but some buyers never received their confirmations, and password-reset links were unreliable enough that support had started sending them manually. We installed Brevo for WooCommerce, enabled Brevo SMTP, authenticated the domain, and replaced the main messages with Brevo Email Templates. During testing, we found that a custom checkout plugin stored the phone number and customer type in fields the default synchronization did not recognize. We added those attributes through the Brevo API, enabled Brevo Tracker, and built an abandoned-cart Automation around cart\_updated, cart\_deleted, and order\_completed. The first version also picked up some orders created manually by the store team, which would have sent reminders to customers who had never abandoned a checkout. We added another condition and excluded those records before launch. Transactional webhooks were then connected to our logging system so we could detect bounces and blocks without waiting for the client to report that an email was missing. Brevo did not make WooCommerce data clean by itself, and the one-way parts of the synchronization still needed deliberate handling. Indeed, I export the attributes I need to create listings of my students in Excel, particularly to classify them according to several criteria that are specific to me, which Brevo does not allow directly. To achieve this, and to avoid having to establish the list of attributes each time according to my specific needs (we are only allowed one saved choice list), I export all relevant attributes and paste them into an Excel spreadsheet. Then, this spreadsheet distributes the information according to my needs: student listings, but also accounting data, attendance at classes, attendance at training sessions, as well as various parallel listings. For this to work, the order in which I extract the data must remain constant. However, this is the second time this order has been disrupted, forcing me to review all the data routing work in my Excel sheets. What also enrages me — and which I have asked several times to be corrected, without any success — is that when I sort an attribute column in Brevo and request to display 100 lines of information, it is enough for me to open a contact's file to consult their specific data for, when I return to the complete contact table, all my work to be redone. I am a volunteer for a non-profit, and I am responsible for regular flyers and newsletters telling our members about past and future events. I have found it very quick and easy to create pleasing campaigns, keeping the branding style. Personalisation features mean that the campaigns can be friendly and catch people's attention. It is easy to visualise how the campaigns will appear on different browsers, whether on a desktop or a mobile phone. I can easily send the campaigns out to different target groups and track the response. The campaigns often provide links to our Facebook page and website, driving traffic there. On top of its incredibly intuitive interface and fair pricing model (which charges based on email volume rather than contact list size), Brevo has recently rolled out some game-changing features: Smarter AI Assistants: The integration of Aura AI is incredibly helpful for quickly drafting copy and predicting key customer behaviors, such as identifying which contacts are at risk of churning. Post-Sent Link Editing: This is an absolute lifesaver. If you make a mistake, you can now correct the URL of a campaign that has already been sent within the first 24 hours, saving you from having to send an embarrassing "Oops!" correction email. What Brevo could improve: Rigidity in design and templates: While the drag-and-drop editor is incredibly user-friendly, the template library can still feel a bit clinical and rigid compared to highly design-focused competitors. If you want to build highly customized, ultra-modern visual layouts, you quickly hit the limits of their block editor. Strict account validation and suspensions: To protect their shared IP address reputation, Brevo uses automated compliance algorithms that can be incredibly strict. Users importing older or slightly cold contact databases often face sudden account pauses or suspensions with very little explanation, which can be frustrating to resolve. Feature locking on lower tiers: While the pricing is generally great, some features are heavily gated. For instance, removing the "Sent with Brevo" branding on the Starter plan requires an extra monthly add-on fee. Additionally, advanced multi-path A/B automation testing and detailed reporting dashboards are locked behind the higher-tier plans, leaving the basic plans with somewhat limited analytical depth. Multi-user access costs: For teams, collaboration is expensive. Multi-user login access is restricted to the high-tier Professional and Enterprise plans, meaning smaller teams on Starter or Standard plans have to share a single login, which isn't ideal for security or workflow organization. Brevo is a fantastic tool for solving a few key problems that many businesses, especially smaller ones, face with their marketing: 1. Juggling Too Many Tools: Before Brevo, I might have been using one service for emails, another for SMS, a separate CRM, and maybe even a different platform for landing pages. It was a fragmented mess! Brevo brings all of that under one roof. How it benefits me: This saves me a ton of time and effort because I'm not constantly switching between platforms, re-uploading contacts, or trying to integrate different systems. Everything's connected, so my workflows are much smoother. It also saves money by consolidating subscriptions. 2. Manual & Inconsistent Customer Communication: It's hard to keep up with every single customer interaction, send timely follow-ups, or create truly personalized experiences manually. Things get missed, and communication can feel generic. How it benefits me: Brevo's powerful marketing automation solves this. I can set up automated welcome sequences, abandoned cart reminders, birthday messages, or even specific email series based on how customers interact with my website. This means my customers get relevant and timely communication automatically, which improves engagement and builds stronger relationships, all without me having to manually send each message. 3. Growing an Email List and Understanding My Audience: Building a contact list and then figuring out who those contacts are and what they're interested in can be tough without the right tools. How it benefits me: Brevo's forms and CRM help me easily capture new leads and then segment them based on their behavior or interests.
