❣️The brain science baked into it: The app's use of cognitive science principles really sets it apart and enhances retention and understanding.
❣️Tracking progress/confidence gained: I love how Brainscape tracks his learning progress and how confident he feels about the material. This feature gives him a real sense of accomplishment.
❣️Attaching images to cards: As a visual learner, my son benefits greatly from this feature, as it allows us to add images to the cards to reinforce concepts.
❣️Content sections on cards: The option to add prompts, clarifiers, footnotes, and more to each card makes the learning experience more comprehensive and organized.
❣️Syncing between devices: I can make changes to his cards on my Mac, and within seconds, those updates reflect on his device, making it seamless and convenient.
❣️Organizing flashcards into 'decks': The ability to organize cards into subject-specific decks is incredibly helpful. We can break subjects down into chapters or semesters, which allows us to focus on specific content he needs extra help with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I’d Love to See Added:
✏️ More formatting options, such as font sizes, font colors, highlighting, and text styles. These features would be incredibly supportive for visual learners like my son and myself, making the cards even more customizable and easier to engage with.
✏️ The ability to reverse cards: It would be fantastic to have an option to automatically "reverse" the cards. Right now, we set up the cards with a question on one side and the answer on the other. Being able to flip the cards so that the answers become questions (and vice versa) would allow us to study the material from both directions, enhancing our learning experience even further. What I like most about Brainscape is its excellent usability. The app is intuitive and makes it very easy to create and organize flashcards, making the study process more efficient. I also appreciate the methodology based on spaced repetition and self-assessment, which allows me to monitor my level of knowledge in each subject in a practical and accurate way.
In addition to the app itself, I’d highlight the informative emails the team regularly sends. They provide valuable insights into learning techniques and productivity, offering a read that’s always interesting and inspiring. This attention to detail and ongoing support is a unique feature that makes Brainscape even more useful and motivating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The free version limits access to materials created by other users, which can be a bit restrictive—but it’s understandable given the value the platform provides.
One feature I wish the app had is a mock exam mode. This would be great for testing knowledge in a format similar to real exams, helping users prepare more effectively for specific tests. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Brainscape is extremely user friendly, the interface isn't clunky or old.
- It is very easy to make flashcards and add in images
- The scoring system I've found a better indicator than other websites and allows you to control your learning more easily
- You can copy decks and preview other decks with pro
- Continuous study is a great feature
- Pro is a really good feature but the free verison is also really good
- Resetting mastery is beyond useful
- See previous card feature on phone/ipad Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- A recent change was that you can no longer view who is studying your class or their flashcard % which makes it harder to track and did seem like a money grabbing opportunity, which I would completely understand if you couldn't see as a free user, but as a pro user it felt ridiculous to then have to pay to see people studying your own flash cards
- Sometimes you are unable to copy specific decks and you have to copy an entire class
- You are unable to rearrange your classes, I have created classes at the start of medical school which are not useful most of the time so I have removed them then added them again at a later date, but you are unable to change the order of classes at the side which is slightly annoying
- If you remove a class you made but decide at a later date you want to coem back to it so you study it again, you are put into preview and unable to edit your own cards even though you made them unless you ask for help and get manually changed to an admin Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I used Brainscape to study for my CPA Core 1 exam, and I really appreciated the ability to create flashcards using screenshots. Assigning levels of difficulty to the flashcards was particularly helpful, as it allowed me to focus on the more challenging material before the exam. This feature ultimately saved me a lot of time. Keep up the great work, Brainscape team!

I attempted to create flashcards by importing my notes, but I believe Brainscape's AI still requires some development, as it sometimes makes errors in recognizing questions and answers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Brainscape uses the proven technique of using flash cards to study/enhance retention of your subject. I used their pro version to prepare for my WSET Level 3 in Spirits exam and I am confident that I succeeded in the tests (no results yet as of this review). Brainscape also made me more disciplined in my studies with the metrics built into the app so that I can easily see topics that I was weak in and devote more time to. All in all, I truly recommend this app for anyone taking up a certification exam. 2 thumbs up! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
None so far. I really enjoyed using the app even on the website version. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I found WSET2 exam questions flesh cards here and actually it's really amazing because it's so difficult to find such topic on other apps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
At the moment I like everything about Brainscape because it's very helpful in my particular area. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There is so much to include here.
Customer service is best I have ever experienced in any platform by far. Quick replys, very helpful, very respectful, 10/10 all around.
The thoughout system of this study guide exceeds what I thought possible.
Flash cards that will show back up based of your rank of undersatdning you pick after answering. It's geniuse.
So easy to set up and implement your content or even find other content that is already organized in what you may be studying.
I found Brainscape during my course. From someone who makes content on youtube that gives tips on how to pass course. Now use it more than the course itself for studying.
The youtube content creator made sections for each of the 4 textbook / 4 module. Broke that down into flashcard decks for each chapter, multiple exam practice question decks, math / calculation only decks, overview of textbook / module deck. It is a better source of information that my actual course. Easy integration.
I use Brainscape everyday and the majority of my studying goes to it.
I cannot express enough how fortunate and blessed I am to have found this platform. Trust me it is worth your time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Honestly, it is hard to put my finger on anything I dislike.
If I had to pick something I wish they would incorporate is some way to buy certain content of flash card deck sets made to buy it once and have full access of it always.
Only way to do that is lifetime access, but for someone who is just looking for one set of content is a bit steep. But that is a very unique request and is just because I am in a course and only need full access to that material.
Very minimal issues and is the only improvment I could see for my situation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The "real world" application of learning flashcards is replicated with the added benefit of AI for intelligent learning. Whenever I am using physical flashcards, I always have a few nailed, but they keep coming around giving me a false sense of mastery through each round in the deck. I like how I am able to rate my knowledge of a card when it pops up and if I am not learning it it appears more frequently.
Also, this makes studying with friends much easier as we have the same deck of cards but not the SAME deck of cards. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish there was a way to reverse the cards, instead of having to make the same card twice (e.g. Q/A, A/Q or Term/Def, Def/Term). I also wish there were features for importing cards into a specific deck. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Brainscape is an exceptional app for anyone looking to learn faster and retain more. Its spaced repetition system is by far the most effective method I’ve come across for mastering complex material, whether you’re studying for certifications, academic exams, or even personal development.
The app is incredibly intuitive, with a clean design that minimizes distractions. I particularly appreciate the progress tracking features, which show how much you’ve improved over time. The ability to create custom flashcards is seamless, and their library of pre-made decks covers a wide range of topics, saving hours of prep work.
What sets Brainscape apart is the way it adapts to your learning pace. By rating your confidence on each card, the system optimizes your review schedule, ensuring you focus more on what you need to learn while reinforcing what you already know. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
If I had one suggestion for improvement, it would be to enhance collaboration features for group study or make some advanced features available at a lower price. That said, the value Brainscape provides is well worth the investment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I'm a first year medicine student, so learning biology and anatomy for me is really complicated. I love that brainscape offers fast and easy access to cards, i can make my own cards/decks and easily repeat my knowledge. The best thing is that you can rate any of your answers based on knowledge from 1-5 and it will repeat the card to you again in some time if you don't know it that well. Can't wait for more AI tools. And the only thing that i'm missing right now is some kind of bookmark to mark any card i like or the option to print them out. At least i have not found it yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
