What do you like best about BoxCast?

I like the reliability of the platform. If our stream connection drops Boxcast continues flowless until our connection is restored. Adding graphics is great and the overall quality is awesome. Our clients have given us a fantastic review of the quality of the picture. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BoxCast?

I wish the cost was a tad more reasonable for the add-ons and that they could be added and removed as needed and not require a one year agreement to use some of the add-on services. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering BoxCast:

I have suggested to several other people they should use Boxcast. I think it is a good option for a quality live stream. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is BoxCast solving and how is that benefiting you?

What do you like best about BoxCast?

We have been streaming with Boxcast since Covid. I'm pleased with the affordability of the mini-Boxcast, and are well-pleased with the multiple features of the Boxcast-Pro. We have been using one of each for several years, and are in the process of upgrading the mini to a "Pro" model, for better timing, audio control and H.265 encoding. The hardware is fantastic, but the support is exceptional. We can reach live people whenever we need assistance. They've even stayed late beyond their shifts to provide expertise. I don't believe there's an easier system out there in install, deploy and maintain than Boxcaster. I highly recommend the entire system, devices, staff and software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BoxCast?

I really don't have any real negatives. We have had some equipment failures on the Pro model, but we were shipped warranty devices within a couple of days, so we didn't miss any scheduled streaming sessions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is BoxCast solving and how is that benefiting you?

Reaching shutins, marketing the church, helping us make disciples of all nations, reaching those confined to their locations, enabling asynchronous viewing of our services. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about BoxCast?

I like the simplicity of the boxcaster device - especially the ports and symbols that light up allowing me to check my connections at a glance. I also love the software that let's me schedule livestreams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BoxCast?

Currently, the app has difficulty staying logged in, which is annoying but okay. Also often when I go live, I have to refresh the page in order for it to go from the broadcast starting window to where I can see the actual stream. The software struggled the most on an older iPad also. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering BoxCast:

Boxcast works as a streaming device should. I have a feeling there are more features that I do not even know about yet! I plan on using their devices and software for years. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is BoxCast solving and how is that benefiting you?

We livestream our church service every Sunday. We also record a private video of our wednesday night rehearsals. Boxcast allows us to do both of these in a simple, user-friendly, and consistent way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about BoxCast?

We looked around to find the best live stream solution for our church and what we found was that Boxcast was by far the easiest. The fact that we didn't need to search and find separate kinds of encoding and decoding hardware, or set up a dedicated computer just for the live stream, was a huge win for us. It's plug-and-play. The website is easy to use and it's the only "software" you'll have to deal with. It works so easily. Something we couldn't test out before we implemented Boxcast was the stability of the live stream, and we've been very happy with the result. In the early Sundays of the COVID-19 pandemic, we saw Facebook Live, Vimeo Live, YouTube Live, and many other services crash due to the sudden increase in internet traffic- but our stream with Boxcast never went down. We've been very happy with it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BoxCast?

The online dashboard is functionally very good, but using it does not feel as easy to use as the rest of the system. It's pretty utilitarian and can feel a bit overwhelming to someone who might be new to live streaming. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is BoxCast solving and how is that benefiting you?

Of course, being able to live stream on multiple platforms (Our app, website, Facebook, and YouTube) at once is a big deal. It is very nice for our people to watch the live stream from whatever source they prefer. The embed function is very helpful in this, too. We built a chat room feature through a third party and it was so easy to embed Boxcast with that system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about BoxCast?

I like that the interface is easy to maneuver, and the data and analytics are excellent. The abitlity to schedule and embed has been particularly useful and user-friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BoxCast?

It's not something I dislike, but would offer as an area of improvement for the future would be to be able to embed in a website with a paywall, as this is key, with the ability to collect revenue generated within 24 hours would be really helpful.

Having said that, Boxcast makes it really easy to integrate with other ticketing platforms that perform this function and the nonexclusive nature of the stream has been really great for our organization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering BoxCast:

Get to know a rep and ask them specifically for solutions to challenges you're facing. They are a great team that wants to help. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is BoxCast solving and how is that benefiting you?

Having gotten started at the beginning of the pandemic gave us the ability to provide content to remote audiences. We were able to safely shoot graduation and deliver it to parents and relatives that were eager to see the event.

We are also filling a void Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about BoxCast?

It is extremely easy to set up, integrate into a system, and use. We are able to have a team of volunteers run the equipment after a simple training session. A great product for churches. Our church is smaller, too, so not just for mega-churches. We only have about 100 people on a Sunday. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BoxCast?

The only challenge we sometimes have is balancing the sound in the room and the sound at home. It is not really a Boxcast problem, though. It is an issue of using a single soundboard to send the audio to both places. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering BoxCast:

Don't hesitate to reach out to them as you are planning your purchase. They are very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is BoxCast solving and how is that benefiting you?

We have drastically increased our participation. We started using Boxcast during the pandemic, but we now have a much larger congregation than we ever did before. Each Sunday we have almost exactly the same number of people joining us online as in person. This has increased our reach and our engagement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about BoxCast?

Boxcast is extremely easy to use and has been solid uptime since the beginning! It can start and stop manually or by a schedule, remembers your settings for the next stream, and has take a load of weight off my shoulders at work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BoxCast?

The website interface is built to do far more than we need it to do so there are lots of other options that are available and could complicate things a bit for someone new to the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is BoxCast solving and how is that benefiting you?

With the pandemic in 2020, our church needed a quick and efficient way to stream live to our people. After trying Vimeo and Stream Monkey and a few others, Boxcast blew us away with their ease of use, low prices, helpful technical support, and quality streaming. I went from spending far too much time in the moment and troubleshooting later with other services to Boxcast where I could set everything ahead of time and trust that it will start and stop when I want it to and not drop frames either! What do you like best about BoxCast?

I like pre-scheduling the events so it's easy for our staff to click into the event to go live with the broadcaster app. I like the ease of using the app. I like that it records the videos and editing is very easy. The new chat feature is awesome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BoxCast?

Having to log in multiple times. (On several devices, so this is not isolated to one device)

For the last few months, we have run into more issues than ever with the portrait/landscape orientation and with using the Broadcaster App. It logs us out after every use, regardless of saying "remember me", etc. It forces us to log in more than once including when I log into the account on the computer. Up until a few months ago, I likely would have given Boxcast a 10/10. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering BoxCast:

It's quite easy to set up and use. Make sure you have outstanding Wifi for using the Broadcaster App. The chat feature is really fun for people to interact with you! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is BoxCast solving and how is that benefiting you?

We wanted to offer an at-home fitness option for our members. We are not currently benefiting financially, but we are offering a service to our members that is beneficial. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about BoxCast?

Ease of use along with stability of streaming. There is so little effort to learn, implement, and utilize Boxcast and this is a huge win for us as we have technical limitations with our workflow and knowledge base for livestreaming. Boxcast has anticipated this and done the work ahead of time for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BoxCast?

It's selfish, but I'd like a couple of the added costs features to be available with our current subscription....primarily the simulated live feature. Recently the billing for storage was hard to deal with, but that has been changed for the better! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering BoxCast:

For plug and play and incredible technical support and training, Boxcast is the solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is BoxCast solving and how is that benefiting you?

Sending our livestream to multiple platforms at once...making video recordings...and using the boxcaster app. All these things are easy to use and very effective at meeting our needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about BoxCast?

BoxCast is just perfect. It's very user-friendly, easy to setup, has tons of built-in features and available upgrades, and the customer service is great. Had a few questions and issues (on my side) and they were always fast and friendly, and helped my understand and fix any issues I had. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BoxCast?

There's actually nothing to dislike about BoxCast, as it delivers exactly what it says it does. What I would like as additional features though, are:

- Low and ultra-low latency options (even if they would charge extra per stream/broadcast). It's just something that could be very useful with some streams. The average delay that we experience with BoxCast is about 30 - 45 seconds. Which is decent and not a problem at all, unless you want a bit more "real-time" interaction with your audience (with quizzes etc.)

- A feature to enable Full-HD / HD as default quality. In our experience, BoxCast starts streaming in a low quality for viewers, detects the internet connection and buffering, and then switches to Full-HD / HD. Although that normally goes pretty quickly, it's still something that can bother clients sometimes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering BoxCast:

If you're looking for a reliable, stable, high quality and easy to use platform for live streaming, BoxCast is the way to go. You don't have to believe me, ask for a trial, give it a go and find out for yourself :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is BoxCast solving and how is that benefiting you?

It's nice to have a fixed monthly/yearly fee. No more surprises after a stream of how much data you used and how much you need to pay. The feature "pre-recorded" broadcast is very cool and handy. And the option to keep a live stream online as video on demand (and being able to cut/trim the stream literally minutes after the stream) is just perfect! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
