- The multi-languages feature helps me spread my business worldwide. My online stores can sell my products to a large customer base across the globe.
- Built-in CMS which supports me to showcase our product list for customers when shopping
online. My customers can see the image, description and price of a product.

I bought 3 license codes from this company in the spring of 2021 (though I shouldn't have) via AppSumo platform (botstar.com).
The Vietnamese startup developer behind Botstar and Chative.io defrauded his early investors, who transferred hundreds, even thousands of dollars to them through the AppSumo platform. The CEO has left the company on the brink of bankruptcy. When the SaaS launch was announced in spring 2021, the CEO already knew there was economic trouble and started developing a completely new project with his company, which was not validated. The AppSumo launch was a hype.
They did not communicate with early investor members in their FB group for more than 5 months. They promised many improvements on their roadmap but NONE of it materialized. Because they already knew then that BotStar would not be developed further.
They lied to us. On 22.10.2021 the CEO made an announcement that the whitelabel/agency construction will be discontinued and the development of chatbot automation will be put on the back burner. The main priority will be the live chat service (Chative.io). But that's not why we early investors bought this SaaS software. In company law, we call this knowingly deceiving consumers. If by some miracle you become their customer and vote them and their new product into your confidence, there is no guarantee that if this Vietnamese company goes bankrupt you will be compensated...

UPDATE 2022!!!!!
As a 2022 update, they took things a step further and renamed their product after abandoning it for over a year to call it "CHATTIVE" and literally dropping all the old accounts. Mind you website link works, the dashboard is the same, EVERYTHING IS THE SAME! They couldn't charge more unless they RETIRED the name botstar lol. That's what you get from these crooks so beware and by the way all of the past issues still stands lol.
UPDATE 2021!!!
They make having an SSL certificate so difficult. I've had other white labeled platforms but they are the only ones who force you to leave your current provider to find one to provide them with 3 CERTIFICATE FORMS! Yeah that wasn't fully thought out and now customers like myself have a white labeled subdomain that isn't secured. Not the best experience especially for agencies.
After using this program for a few months I can finally say that this platform is very bad and extremely clunky all around. My only suggestion is take a page from the Mobile Monkey platform to make the user experience better.
1. For starters, they have different programs that aren't finished for whatever reason that they refuse to fix. A good example is there appointment booking app, which allows the user to literally pick any day and time (am or pm) at that customers leisure.
2. With a team of 10+ people, we reviewed their youtube videos and all of their documentation in trying to navigate this app and let me tell you it feels like hours wasted. For example, everything is super vague in telling you what to do to achieve a specific function. Let me try to explain this better, its like teaching someone how to bake a cake giving them the tools and say put that stuff together and put it in the oven. There very aware of this issue but the worst part is when you contact them they continue to give vague answers and its like pulling teeth trying to get them to tell you where everything is.
3. Customer support is absolutely terrible. They have two people apparently working, only in the am (I'm eastern time) and for each question you have to wait for a response in one day. To make this worst, you never get the answer to your question so you spend an entire week or more trying to get a simple answer to a question. Another issue is that, every explanation is given to you as if you're one of their internal staff and you must know where everything is or they literally don't understand or know how to explain things OR really go step by step for where everything is.
4. There SSL certificates for subdomains are very bad. In order to have HTTPS for you subdomain, your provider must be able to generate a physical SSL certificate among a bunch of other documents. For starters, this is archaic and most providers give you DNS settings and you're good to go. We use WPengine and there recommendation is to leave them to use some random other companies to accommodate their platform.
5. Email transactions don't work and the documentation is also vague, surprise surprise, and when asked to clarify the proper DNS settings their response is spend more on there documentation that they were told none of our devs knew what they were talking about and can only assume what to do with what was given to them but of course we also can't verify if something is done properly or get a proper response which I assume will be another week or more from the time of me me writing this review. They just announced they are changing the app to a new Live Chat app, and part of that transition includes lessening the benefits that I purchased through AppSumo. The ease of use is definitely the biggest strength of this app. The drag and drop feature allows me to design the flow conveniently. Besides that, BotStar recently version that allows me to update CSV files is a feature I'm very satisfied with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
BotStar is regularly updated, but it comes with some small bugs. Although not seriously affected, it is also a problem that developers need to pay attention to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the live chat, and the chatbot engine is incredible. I can now help my clients via the customer private area with support information 24h a day, seven days a week, non-stop. The below are my personal thoughts after 6 months of using BotStar:
- They have the best chatbot visual flow editor. It gives you an overview of all your works.
- Their built-in CMS is quite is perfect for S&M business
- They offer 70+ free prebuilt Templates. Easy to clone and customize
- Integrate your chatbot directly with Google Sheet. No need to use and pay for any third-party services.
- They have Collaborators feature to share bots for my customers to co-manage

Stripe Integration and A/B testing are missing. However, I heard that it will be available in the near future and the developer team

I really like BotStar Modules and CMS features. The Modules allows me to group several related blocks, so that I can organize my chatbot better.
I built a complex chatbot with many products. Thanks to CMS, I can manage and update my products easily and quickly. It’s automated, so I don’t have to worry about mixing up items or losing track of the menu.
They also have a new launch Webview feature. I read the documents about it and found it really interesting. Can’t wait to try it soon. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As a young startup, BotStar does lack some features, for example payment integration. However, I can see that they have a clear roadmap. If they follow it, they will have all the potential unlock, I believe so. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

- The Flow Editor allows you to build and publish a chatbot with a huge amount of features. Simply drag and drop blocks, add text and links, then you're good to go.
- Very useful tutorials and supporting documents.
