10 Boords Reviews
Boords has been transformative for our small virtual global agency. It's not only saved us thousands of hours (ok, I used to do storyboards via PowerPoint, seriously, don't laugh). Now the whole team uses it daily from conception to design to animation. Animatics are a breeze and easy to share with clients -- which helps cut down on review cycles with the rest of the team. It's fast, easy, scalable, and elegant. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's software, so things don't always go exactly as planned, but Boords is always very responsive and always pushing new features and updates. We've never got the impression they've just stopped innovating and improving. While they've made improvements in the storyboard creation process, I continue to originate concept slides outside of Boords and then bring them into the software. We signed up to Boords (finally) after embarking on a project which we knew was going to be very changeable from the start! It was instantly an invaluable part of our workflow as we spent all of our time storyboarding... and none of it manually re-ordering frames and frame numbers!
We've been able to collaborate with the team in real-time and also evolved our storyboarding by saving multiple versions quickly and easily (which the whole team can easily refer back to if needed). We've also used it to share with our clients - with the comments being a really efficient way to collaborate and get feedback. Couldn't be happier with the process and it's really helped us concentrate all of our time on the job at hand.
We've not really experimented with all of the tools yet, but know this positive experience can only get better once we start using more of the tools available. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
A few times we selected one frame to delete but hadn't realised we'd selected multiple frames (having clicked on one before without realising). Was a bit clunky to de-select and re-select. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I first started using Boords in 2018, when I was working as a freelance art director in the motion graphics industry. The experience was transformative. Prior to discovering Boords.com, any change in the storyboard necessitated rearranging the whole thing, which was time-consuming and frustrating.
As the years passed, using Boords became a habit I could not give up. In the meantime, I have founded my own motion graphics studio, where I currently serve as the creative director. Today, Wonder & Render employs 20 creative professionals. Boords has proven to be an invaluable tool for our team. It enables us to seamlessly collaborate on projects, view progress in real time, and provide live reviews and feedback.
At the time of writing this review, we have created 590 storyboards over the past 5 years, all thanks to Boords. I highly recommend Boords for any animation studio, big or small. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Having the ability to access archived storyboards would be a beneficial feature without unarchiving. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I work in writing partnerships, and when we block a film we block it in person on index cards. Today's world is more virtual for better or worse, but Boords makes it better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only thing tricky is you need to be VERY careful to make sure you're only deleting the cards you want to delete. A mysterious other card may be clicked on but hidden from view. Always be sure to look up on the top left to see 'how many cards are chosen'. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Its an feature that saves us time. The software keeps getting better with each update providing new features for us to leverage. Boords is a pre production tool that provide our animation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The options for customizing storyboard layouts and visuals are somewhat limited. Nonetheless the collaboration and feedback features make up for these limitations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As the owner of Keystone Media, I can confidently say that Boords is an indispensable tool for our animation studio. Boords provides a complete set of pre-production software tools that make it easy for us to create top-notch storyboards and animatics. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While Boords is an excellent pre-production software, the UX could be slightly improved. However, this has not significantly impacted our team's productivity, and I generally like using Boords for our animation studio. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I adore how much you can customize your Boords experience. There are so many helpful tools you can tailor to your speficic production.
Along with that, is a visually beaitful experince. When creating the boord, the click and drag system makes for an effortless workflow, and having the option to export clear and aesthetic PDFS has been game-changing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My only dislike now is wishing for a few more PDF layout options to optimize branding customization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Before Boords we had to do everything verbally or via email which at times became difficult to keep on top of, now we can collaborate on one shared platform across the team and with our clients. The software allows commenting, animatics and has such a simple system that we can make highly creative storyboards quickly that have transformed how we collaborate. Not much! There were a few niggles in the early days but the team at Boords consistently improve the software, each update has valuable new features we can use with ease. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Easy collaboration with my clients. No exporting of PDFs or trouble tracking versions. It all happens seamlessly on the platform and my clients find it easy to provide feedback . Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes the drawing feature can be a bit buggy, but I normally create my frames in Illustrator which can be quickly and easily uploaded to Boords. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
