**What do you like best about Bonterra EveryAction?**

Good CRM with a plethera of standard fields to store contact information.  Support is good and responsive.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra EveryAction?**

Costly for a nonprofit to use from a membership standpoint due to the need for source codes if fees need to go to different places.  Also there is not a user guide so you need to go through articles and recording to learn about the different features.

**What problems is Bonterra EveryAction solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The organization's goal was to maintain their membership and track annual dues across multiple lodges with different fees and levels.  It is also used to send targeted emails which is a great tool to send directed messages to members and donors.  It is used to send renewal notices, invitations to events, volunteer opportunities, and fund raising.

I appreciate how Bonterra EveryAction empowers our nonprofit clients to independently develop their own email, SMS, and peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns. This platform is especially well-suited for organizations working with limited budgets. It also offers useful features for targeting, audience segmentation, creating landing pages, and tracking analytics.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra EveryAction?**

Using Bonterra EveryAction can be challenging without adequate training, as the CRM is not inherently intuitive. While there are videos and a helpful resources page available to support users, it still requires a significant investment of time and effort to fully understand how to use the platform effectively. To become proficient, users need to dedicate themselves to learning the various features and functions in depth.

**What problems is Bonterra EveryAction solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bonterra EveryAction has been instrumental in helping us fundraise for our nonprofit clients, especially since nonprofits must comply with different regulations than political campaigns or political action committees. I also value the built-in, though optional, compliance feature, which helps ensure our organization remains in line with all relevant regulatory and campaign finance requirements for reporting and independent expenditures.

**What do you like best about Bonterra EveryAction?**

I like being able to have all contacts with information about what they have completed in our system. I also enjoy the email and online actions feature.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra EveryAction?**

Unsure how to use many of the features. Activist codes, source codes, campaigns... it's very confusing. I also do not have confidence that online actions when it's an email are actually getting through. We plan to stop using the email feature in online actions because of this.

I have no idea. Nothing.

Keeping data organized is one of the best things about EveryAction. I can easily pull lists depending on survey questions, tags, online forms and other. It integrates to other tools such as Zapier automation tools, Meta to pull audiences and targeting, also integrates to our texting and calling tools to send lists.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra EveryAction?**

EveryAction can improve in keeping data secure and not selling or sharing to third parties. The issue about support persists, it takes support a very long time to respond or resolve issues.

Just being able to get all staff trained and understand the different sections but once that’s done, everything is good

Instead of sending emails, one by one were able to group together different people and send out mass emails which saves time and is very efficient

I find Bonterra EveryAction to be user-friendly, which really helps in our outreach efforts. The Merge Contacts feature and tags are particularly valuable for us. I also liked that the initial setup was easy. These aspects contribute to my high rating and willingness to recommend it.

I don't like that you can't attach a PDF or unsend an email.

**What do you like best about Bonterra EveryAction?**

EveryAction has good tools for reporting, contact history, pulling data. The Online Actions are simple, sleek, and easy to use. The targeted email is also easy to use and provides good tracking. I use EveryAction every day.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra EveryAction?**

Our Philanthropy team wishes EveryAction would integrate with Outlook.

One challenge I have had is with Customer Support. First of all there is no phone number to call, like we enjoyed with Salsa.
About half of the time support responds in an email within a day. Our account executive is friendly and knowledgeable, but can take too long to provide an answer. For example, I inquired 6/6/25 about two issues, for which she opened a ticket, but as of today 6/24/25 I have not heard anything about that ticket.

EveryAction helps me provide our donors with receipts and acknowledgements in a timely manner. We frequently pull reports from EA for a number of indicators.

Bonterra has been a reliable tool for our organization over the past 15 years. I use the software every day. The software is impressively user-friendly and keeps our donor database exceptionally organized. It truly feels like a partnership with shared goals and missions. With its efficient and all-in-one solutions, Bonterra certainly made our fundraising efforts smoother and more productive, ultimately leading to great ROI. Their customer support is very helpful in helping us implement our plans.

I have run into a few issues here and there, but their customer support team often helps me resolve the issues if possible.

There are serious limitations to what we can do with some applications, like event signups or email campaigns. For example, it would be wonderful to be able to create triggered actions based on what folks choose.

I like that I can do so much with Bonterra. I can fundraise, keep track of conversations, send mail, target and analytics. It integrates well with other systems, too. EveryAction can be a one-stop shop for all things organizing, once you learn the platform.

It is harrrrdddd to understand how to use the platform. Lots of options, lots of trainings, lots of ways to mess up your data.

We need to know how to keep track of people, who they're speaking to, and how they're moving through our ladder of engagement. EveryAction is perfect for this!

It is more modern than the previous database and the reports are easier for me to use.

I am in charge of recurring gifts and the reports are easy to use. Finding declining gifts and how many donors we have sustaining is automatically set in the fundraising tab.

The downside of EveryAction is that it has so many features, it's a bit overwhelming. I haven't even begun to explore more advanced features.

**What do you like best about Bonterra EveryAction?**

The most helpful thing about every action has to be the organization of the platform and the cohesiveness of the tools. I love how there's so much to do within every action. A great deal of my work is on this platform because it is so useful. I send all of our emails out through every action and they make it very easy to segment and create lists from the contacts. Theonline actions side is also veyr helpful and it's nice to be able to store so many form becaus ethere are times when we go back t older campaigns for information. We run all of our ticketed event forms using online actions and our general donation form that we have embedded on our website. In addition, I love the upgrades that were made to the utomation emails, as a result sending out a happy birthday email to our email list was very easy. The other thing I enjoy is the easy integration with other platforms such as mobilize. It makes data storage so much more helpful, especially as someone who isnt as savvy on the data side of technology. Whenever I need help with something, the support team responds quickly.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra EveryAction?**

The least helpful thing is not having that many options to change up the design for our forms whether it be ticketed events, volunteer forms, petitions, etc. It'd be nice to have more design elements we can add such as baclground color, more options for image placement etc.

**What problems is Bonterra EveryAction solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping our organization run more efficently and be able to identify our biggest supporters, problems we need to fix (such as as lapsed donors), best practices for digital campaigns (like a/b testing) and our best fundraising campaigns.

I like the automation possibilities for membership and the fact that the communications part of the software is in the same location as the CRM interface.

I wish that it was more user friendly and intuitive to use. There are also a lot of capabilities that it should have and does not. I also wish it had better drag and drop options that other platforms have.

**What do you like best about Bonterra EveryAction?**

Industry-specific CRM (for non-profits, political campaigns, etc.) with a decently intuituve UI. This is the primary fundraising CRM for my NPO (450k records, 75k transactions per year), and is used daily by about 15 users.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra EveryAction?**

There are limitations in available integrations (choices of payment processor, fundraising event modules, volunteer management systems, etc),

The occasional roll-out of new features has a tendency to introduce small bugs, end-users are essentially beta-testers.

While there is a high degree of cusomtizability in creating user permission profiles, the options are critically lacking in some important disctinctions, such as "create" and "edit" functions assignable for some fields only as both or none for some fields.

There are some limitations on what objects are queryable or surfaceable in user-generated reporting. For example, audit trails on objects are visible, but not able to be queried or compiled in reports.

Customer Support from Bonterra staff has been lacking as of Q3-Q4 of 2023 - prior to this period I would have strongly recommended this . Tickets that I have submitted have been claimed and solutions promised but never delivered, and getting developers to follow up on support requests has been increasingly difficult.

**Recommendations to others considering Bonterra EveryAction:**

If you have coders on staff, ask about "under the hood" access - EA is not shipped with SQL terminal

**What problems is Bonterra EveryAction solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have incorporated multiple separate data sources from different database programs into a single source. Automated reporting and automated actions have been among the most regularly used features. An effort to consolidate records of donor communication history was possible using EveryAction - across seven teams in the Fundraising Department (Annual Appeals, Special Events, Planned Giving, Major Gifts, Digital Giving and Capital Campaign and Grants), anyone can easily see all the communications (outgoing/incoming, bulk/personal, print/digital/phone) in one place, and in such a way that updates are low-effort and often automatic.

It is one of a few options that does fundraising, CRM, email outreach, event planning, etc.

It has a pretty bad User Experience. It has improved over time, but there are def. wonky part of it.

EA has so many integrated features that help us truly track every action of our supporters (donations, petitions, calls, interests).

**What do you dislike about Bonterra EveryAction?**

EA produces tracking URLs for Online Actions including petitions, advocacy, and donations, which the Targeted Email function then flags and forbids us from sending.  Email is our most reliable mode of communication with supporters, so not being able to integrate EA's own functions in email blasts is deeply frustrating.

**What problems is Bonterra EveryAction solving and how is that benefiting you?**

EA helps us monitor and cultivate relationships with supporters more equitably than platforms focused on monetary donations.  We work with many more supporters because EA helps us track our followers' professional connections, political advocacy, and interests to find truly common ground together.

**What do you like best about Bonterra EveryAction?**

I love all the ways I can customize this platform for our needs. From creating contact & donation forms to beautiful looking emails to recording donations and keeping our database current, this is a fantasic system. The learning academy was immensely helpful during our onboarding process and I have yet to ask a question that wasn't answered in a professional and friendly manner. The support has been amazing!

**What do you dislike about Bonterra EveryAction?**

I will say that there is almost too much that can be done with this one platform. There are times when I'm sure I could be usng more of it to do more, but that probably says more about my abilities than about Bonterra.

We are able to include more infomation in this database than with our former service and it is much more intuitive in sorting information.

All of the compliance systems work great and are pretty user friendly.  If there are any issues that come up, their support team works quickly to resolve.

The hardest part is the cost.  My smaller committees and candidates can no longer afford to use the software.

I love how I'm able to do everything I need for fundraising in one place - from sending emails to pulling call lists to tracking contributions and viewing wealth engine data, it's a one-stop-shop for everything I need!

The "user experience" could definitely be improved - especially when creating lists and reports I feel like there could be some more options and user friendly tools to help beginners use the software.

It's solving the need to have multiple platforms for different tactics - we used to use different platforms for emails, events, donors, and volunteers, and it's so nice that everything is now integrated into one software.

Being able to use a cloud-based system that integrates the client informtion, supports report management, and has an array of filter options is a reflection of the care and thoughtfullness that went into developing this program.  Although I am still learning the program, there are several tutorials and access to customer support to help understand how to use the tools to achieve what I need.

Although there are several filter options, at times the abundance of drop-down menus and customization tools can feel a bit overwhelming.

We decided to combine our communication and donation data base to better target our donors and make more directly asks and it is paying off! I really appreciate that it is an "all in one service." We don't have to use a CRM, google forms and Mailchimp. It does it all in one and is pretty easy to navigate and learn.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra EveryAction?**

With their changing hands and employees so much in the last year they have been pretty slow to respond to support requests. It can be frustrating not to have your probelm solved in a timely manner, but we are hoping this will get better as their system and team solidifies.

Bonterra is combining all of our needs from fundraising, donor prospecting, volunteer management, event and sign up forms and donation collection. It is an all in one service!

I really like how it can do so much. I like it would help ever Non Profit in DC. It is very easy to use when you get a hand of what is going on with every action. Easy to get some customer support from people that have used it more then me.

I don't like that it is hard to move around and unerstand some of the tools. It should have something we can click on to give an ex. For what that function does.

**What do you like best about Bonterra EveryAction?**

Nothing. There is seriously nothing about Bonterra that is different from any other CRM that would make it worth your money and the SEVERE lack of customer service.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra EveryAction?**

They are not worth the money. For what they charge, the system should be much more user friendly. I have been calling every single day for the past 34 days and have not gotten a single response. I have emailed 6 times and no response. The system is cumbersome and not at all helpful for a smaller nonprofit. There is a LOT of competition now, even some completely free systems, and I cannot recommend enough that you choose something besides EveryAction. Plus now, they are using their own payment processor so they get to take even more of your money. Seriously, do your organization a favor and do not use them so that your donors can know their money goes to something that is actually valuable.

They are not solving anything, actually creating more problems for us. They are not unique in the world of CRMs unless you count that they charge more than anyone else.

The most important aspect for me is that we are able to do so many things in one system. Donation pages, membership recruiting, petitions, newsletters, you name it!

Some aspects are not as flexible as I would like. There are some settings or hard coded things. For example, the Event Type must be "ticketed event" in order to have an event registration form where people can buy tickets.

We used to have many different systems for managing our fundraising, outreach, and contact management functions. Donorbox, Mailchimp, Join It, Raiser's Edge, Eventbrite and more... We can do much of the work all in EveryAction instead of juggling so many different tools

**What do you like best about Bonterra EveryAction?**

I find putting out the emails easy. The drag and drop editor works well.  Entering and managing the database is also simple. Reporting is also simple to attain and is getting better and better.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra EveryAction?**

Learning to use the software can be cumbersome.  Language about the apps can be confusing. And it can be time consuming to figure out how the features work.  

We are a small organization and sometimes the features are limited.  I don't use the events and online action feature very often because I cannot get the event to send an automatic reminder for attendees of an event 24 hours in advance without having to send it out myself by collecting the people attending emails online and sending out a mass email reminding them to come. It would be great to be able to have this program automatically send out a 24 reminder that the event is coming up.  It would also be terrific because the Online Action feature automatically allows users to sign up for our group if they wish. This wat, I don't have to use an alternative and try to track down new users since they signed up for the event via another application other than EasyAction .

We manage a database of about 750 volunteers.  We use the software for communication purposes.  It is vital to our cohesion as a group and to let our constituents know what is happening.

**What do you like best about Bonterra EveryAction?**

It's easy to navigate. Filing system for reports is incredibly helpful. Powerful tools for slicing and dicing metrics. The bcc line is a godsend for fundraising, even for staff who aren't using it regularly but have relationships with donors. It's actually fun to use everyday! Tracking everything in a donor or member profile is easy and efficient, and the ability to prioritize what I'm looking at is icing on the cake. When we first got set-up we had excellent support and it was easier to intergrate (from Raiser's Edge) than we anticipated.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra EveryAction?**

While we'd love to have better intergration with Wordpress to our website, it just hasn't been possible without a really annoying patch. But, on the up side, we're revamping our website, so this may not even be relevant in the future.

How to track our most active members and create an action-taker-to-donor pipeline. It also helps us track our success with every action and email we do. After two years, we've seen a vast increase our open rate, clicks, and online donations because we've been able to consistently track our performance and adjust.

At YWCA Northeast Kansas, we employ a variety of community engagement techniques to ensure not only fundraising success, but movement-building success. Everyaction/Bonterra allows us to do just that by harnessing powerful amounts of data all in one place. We love that we can communicate effectively with precise segmentation, track all kinds of data, create audience-building forms, and generate accurate donor reports all in the same software. It's easy to use and train new users, which is so important when you're looking to build capacity quickly.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra EveryAction?**

No real downsides. Perhaps more customer support and case studies on how to integrate all features and aspects of the software successfully, particularly the volunteer management piece. More features on best practices and how to integrate automation would be helpful for those of us looking to level up our skills.

Bonterra is helping us funnel first-time contacts through the donor engagement pipeline and allowing us to build a movement, where our donors are also engaged volunteers and advocates, and vice versa.

I was introduced to EveryAction 5 years ago and appreciated the features it allowed for the organizing and development teams. My CRM experience was limited then, and EveryAction was easy to use and provided features that could suit our advocacy and development needs. Reconnecting with EveryAction has felt good, it reminds me of the impact we can have via the tools and brings to mind the collective appreciation and stewardship of our file. Having the opportunity to start relatively fresh within EveryAction, I am keen on learning, sharing, and creating a culture of data hygiene.

The adoption for those who have not played in the system can be clunky. While I've navigated the webinars and recordings, there are team members who have struggled with the adapting to the new platform.

I like the way that phone banks work so seamlessly, the ability to view Volunteers history, the ease of finding full accounts with only pieces of information, and how it's data tracking aids in targeted outreach efforts.

One of the best uses in this application would be it's user-friendly marketing platform. It offers a variety of methods of communication that make the process succesful. I use the platfrom weekly, and find it easy to use across platforms.

I like how intuitive the platform is. With just a basic overview of the platform, it's pretty easy to navigate. I also like how there's so much information and support if I ever have a question or run into a problem using the platform.

I would have loved to be able to make certain contact records only visible to certain users, such as major donor contacts. I do appreciate that the platform allows different levels of what a user can do within a contact record.

This platform allows us to have an all-in-one solution to track and engage donors, program participants, and new supporters. And each person in our organization can have access (without extra cost) to be able to accomplish what they need to do.

- The platform is overwhelming and can use more robust explanations of the functions of each section within that section (without going to research and troubleshoot within the help center).
- Customer service takes a long time to respond to inquiries.

**What do you like best about Bonterra EveryAction?**

I'm a daily user and administrator of the sytem. I've worked with various databases in previous roles and by far EveryAction's greatest strength is its clean layout. It's customizable without being messy or confusing to navigate. I appreaciate the thought that has gone into the new contact record view to be able to see constituents from a holistic perspective. The BCC to notes integration is also great for user adoption and getting important contact information into the system. Having numerous levels of access to the system has also been wonderful to control who is using the system and in what ways.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra EveryAction?**

I'd love more clarity and direction within the help section. Some of the help documents are too surface level and/or not applicable when trying to find an answer to a specific question. Some of the articles are missing clear, concise definitions. It feels a bit like there's a disconnect from the technical writers to the every day users.

Having digital communications live in the same place as our donor relations management is great. It allows us to see all the touchpoints within one database, which is something that not many other companies are doing.
