The panels can be customized to your preferences and it is just a very clean look. RE NXT is a powerhouse full of good informaiton at your fingertips. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT?** RE NXT is great for the most part. However, it is not designed for you to do gift processing very easily. The database view is much easier. I also wish that I could adjust a gift more than one time if I needed or wanted to. Sometimes, donors change their minds and processors make mistakes. I also don't like having to update the citrix application so frequently. **What problems is Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT solving and how is that benefiting you?** I wish I could get a little more customization and get gift counts on reports to include the number of donors. This would be helpful especially on giving days when you can run a report, get the totals you need as far as dollars raised is concerned. But, the total number of donors is not listed. I typically have to re-run a query to get the donor count on a particular appeal. ### 2. Aside from a friendly user interface and easy-to-interpret, drillable reporting tools, NXT can also be very useful in pinpointing holes in your current data set. Lists make reviewing constituents, gifts, and other record types very easy. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT?** In my experience, the largest downside of NXT is that users still have to rely heavily on the database view of Raiser's Edge. New features are constantly being added, but further development is necessary in areas such as event management and email functionality. **What problems is Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT solving and how is that benefiting you?** One of the largest ways that NXT helps is giving frontline fundraisers the ability to quickly access progress to goals for campaigns, appeals, and funds. That said, it comes quickly, and it's not a hinderance. It's worth the time spent to learn it. Changes made in either one are immediately visible in the other. If I am updating a sustainer credit card and adding notes, or updating address or relationship records in the web view the data team can see those changes when entering gifts in the database view. Moving a gift from one constituent to another is simple and fast. I like that the "tiles" can be arranged by each user to best suit their needs. We recently launched our Blackbaud Donation Form on our website. I like managing the gift batches created in RE NXT web view. I can click on a donor and see the constituent record and drill down in any tile for info I might need. I like that separate forms can be created for each mail campaign or third party event. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT?** The column options available in lists in RE NXT do not contain fields we need to see/export. We cannot see basic info like contacts: Name and position. Finding the tribute information for online tribute gifts had me stumped for a long time. It is only available after the gift is committed and then you have to drill down in the gift record to see it. BB is continually adding new features to the webview, although that can admittedly be both a feature and a disadvantage. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT?** At times, it's not unlike driving a half-built car, with the pit crew running after you. There are still many features that only exist in the database view and are not accounted for in the webview, although these primarily seem to affect the DBAs. Depending on the size of your organization and the expertise of your DBA, there could be additional drawbacks: relatively high cost for smaller shops, potential learning curve for unfamiliar users, limited customization options, and varying ease of integration with third-party systems. You can create lists much easier in webview but can then take that and pull it bakc into database view so you can use the more robust reporting and export tools. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT?** Webview is not fully built out and you still need to work in both webview and database view to utilize the functionality of RE. This has been in progress for so many years and it is frustrating that it is not near completion. Some key functionality in database view is no longer available (Microsoft integration) but nothing has been made available that makes up for the lost functionality. **What problems is Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is the most robust tool on the market and pretty close to an all-in-one CRM. It is strongest in donor management, fundraising, and CRM in my opinion and when fully utilized by organizations it can be a game changer to help focus on who to ask and for how much and tracking the various actions/appeals. I have seen donor growth and revenue growth for organizations that actually utilize the functionality. Far too many are on it because they think it's the best and will do the work for you but never take the time to learn how to set it up properly. ### 13. I don't have vast experience with the competitors but I would say that the NXT platform is equal or above other database levels in terms of ease of use and presentation. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT?** Some of the financial reporting and other aspects need to be verified through the back-end database. Pledges are difficult to account for. I would love to see more options on how to filter the dashboard statistics. I like being able to enter gifts in batches and adding special pieces to each gift. Soft credit, tribute, etc are all available from the same window. I like that I can format it to my own view so I can see snapshots of constituent profile information on the right side of my screen in the batch. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT?** I find it challenging to make sure that there are no duplicates. Merging in webview and then making changes in database view after is a waste of time. Changes made in one spot should also transition into the other seamlessly. The donor retention and benchmarking dashboard has helped our team move from guessing about our practices to actually seeing where we stand and where we can improve. My fundraisers and executive-level leaders are able to quickly access key information in an understandable way. My data entry team is able to be proactive in keeping our data clean, and correct errors from the past. This means that you have to wait to use some features for 2-3 years post-release for an optimal user experience. **What problems is Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT solving and how is that benefiting you?** It fills our need for a CRM tool with all the features we need for personal fundraising as well as bulk appeals. The cloud-based interface (NXT) has no user limit and takes minimal training, so it has been very handy in getting our CEO and leadership on board with using the system directly in donor visits. At the same time, I value the customization that BB gives us in security options, because I can pick and choose exactly what data fields each user is allowed to view, edit, or create. RE's direct integration with payment processing (BBMS) is convenient for just hauling along a tablet to events for registration payments -- in fact, the other departments on our campus are always borrowing our Mobilepay App/payment swiper when they have book sales, conference shows, and the like. I like that Blackbaud stays up to date and customizes the database itself to accommodate new privacy regulations and payment processor rules, so I don't have to figure out how to make the nw rules apply. RE NXT also integrates with Financial Edge (accounting software) so our organization can operate seamlessly across departments. As the DBM at our org, I'm often called in to collaborate with other departments or nonprofits in sharing constituent data. I get my fingers in their databases and the export systems are clunky, and you have to contact support to extract the full range of data -- or the lookup tools are inadequate, leading to multiple duplicate constituents. One org had a constituent in their database 25 times, and they had no idea. With RE NXT, you have full control of your data: the export and import process is thorough, and the data hygiene tools (such as duplicate constituent management) promote a clean system. Our org has been using RE for 23 years, since long before it migrated to its current cloud-based version, and it's definitely quality over all the wannabe systems out there. ### 32.
