What sets them apart from other software is that they guide you through writing a business plan. They explain what a business plan is, why you need one, and what needs to be included in the plan, and then you use their software to generate it. Once it's complete, they have online tools to reach investors willing to lend money to businesses. If you're new to building a business and trying to build a startup, they have you covered - they actually walk you through the steps. It's a "one-stop- shop". There is a learning curve to it so you need to have some time to spend to get to know the software. You also need to learn the terminology, and be prepared to spend a few hours developing your business plan - sometimes, it can be difficult to find a block of time, but it's worth the effort. The text editors are buggy when it comes to selecting and deleting and editing text. I raised an issue with their support over a year ago, they reproduced the issues and said it would be handed over to the 'dev team', but a year later, the issues were never fixed. What kind of SaaS doesn't fix blatant bugs after a year???

The biggest issue I had with Bizplan, was the absolutely mind-boggling stupid decision of someone who decided that a PUBLIC, exported business plan with a link to which anyone can view, would HIDE THE FINANCIALS AND APPENDIX sections of the business plan to anyone viewing it, if they weren't a logged in user.

I sent out my business plan PUBLIC LINK to over 30 VC's and embarrassingly after a few weeks had someone email me asking me if I 'had any financials' they could see. I was perplexed because the plan did have financials, as well as a detailed explanation of how I calculated them, which is when I discovered the financials and appendix are not shown in the PUBLIC link. There is no notification or message on the 'publish' page about this.

When I contacted their support they told me I had to rather export a PDF instead and share that. I've heard of some stupid design decisions in software, but this one takes the cake.

They also have some other usability issues, such as controls/toggles that don't have any apparent meaning at first, nor are mentioned in the documentation.

Being able to have an all in one software for startups. Being able to raise startup capital is the number one concern for entrepreneurs when starting a business and this software really helps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

So far I haven't found any, the annual subscription rate is affordable at only $20 per year. I would say you have use the software everyday to get the hang of it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
