## About Bitwarden
Bitwarden is an open source password manager for individuals, teams, and enterprise organizations. Ranked first in Enterprise User Satisfaction on the G2 Enterprise Grid for eleven consecutive quarters, Bitwarden stores, generates, autofills, and shares credentials and passkeys using end-to-end AES-256 bit encryption. Bitwarden is a zero-knowledge encryption solution, meaning only the user can access vault data. The Bitwarden source code is publicly available on GitHub and undergoes regular third-party security audits, covering penetration testing, cryptographic analysis, and source code review. Bitwarden is SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and Data Privacy Framework (DPF) compliant. Manage passwords and passkeys - Generate and store strong, unique passwords and passkeys, saved securely across unlimited devices. - Access credentials from anywhere, on any device - Bitwarden offers multiple client options including desktop, mobile, browser, web, and command-line interface (CLI). - Autofill makes it fast and secure to seamlessly log in to websites and apps across devices. Monitor and reduce credential risk - Real-time vault health alerts surface weak, reused, or exposed passwords - Bitwarden Access Intelligence identifies shadow IT and at-risk credentials across an organization, with guided remediation workflows at scale. - Turn on multifactor authentication (MFA) for vault login using a time-based one-time password (TOTP) app or security key. The standalone Bitwarden Authenticator app also generates TOTP codes for any account or service that supports authenticator-based two-factor authentication (2FA). - Exportable event logs provide transparency into user activity around sensitive data within an organization vault. Enterprise integrations and deployment - Bitwarden deploys in both cloud-based and on-premises environments, including self-hosted options for full data sovereignty. - Directory Connector and System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM) integration streamline user and group onboarding with automatic account provisioning and deprovisioning across Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, Google Workspace, and LDAP-based directories. - Bitwarden connects to existing tech stacks with single sign-on (SSO), APIs, and CLI automations, and feeds event logs directly into security operations platforms including Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, Rapid7, and Elastic. Share encrypted information at scale - Use organization collections to share credentials securely. - Vault items are owned by the organization, not individual employees, enabling full credential lifecycle management. - Transmit encrypted information, text, and attachments to anyone via a secure, randomly generated link through Bitwarden Send.

  ### 17. A Simple Password Manager That Gets the Job Done

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Bitwarden?**

Bitwarden was very easy to set up and I had my old logins imported within minutes. I use it every day and it has become second nature. The interface is simple and intuitive, which makes it easy to rely on without much thought. It has all the features I need like a strong password generator, secure notes, and reliable syncing between devices. The browser extensions and mobile apps integrate smoothly, so I always have access. I also like that support is responsive when questions come up, which makes me trust the service even more.

**What do you dislike about Bitwarden?**

Autofill can be inconsistent on certain websites or mobile apps, which sometimes forces me to copy and paste instead. The design is very plain, which is fine for functionality, but it lacks the polished look of some competitors. I also think the free plan is generous, but sharing passwords with family or teams works better if you upgrade, so that part feels limited.

**What problems is Bitwarden solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bitwarden takes away the stress of remembering dozens of unique passwords. Before using it, I reused simple logins because it was too hard to keep track of everything. Now I can generate strong, unique passwords for every account and know they are stored securely. It also saves me a lot of time since I do not have to reset forgotten passwords or dig through notes. Having everything synced between my laptop and phone means I always have access when I need it, which makes daily work and personal logins much easier.

**What do you like best about Bitwarden?**

**What do you dislike about Bitwarden?**

One limitation of Bitwarden is that advanced administrative configurations can require some initial setup effort

**What problems is Bitwarden solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bitwarden solves the problem of insecure password storage and credential sharing across teams

  ### 22. Safest, multiplatform, open source Password Manager

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert S. | Technical Test Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Bitwarden?**

I can run the Bitwarden App on my Android mobile, Linux and windows laptop, in my browsers and it is really easy. I use it every day for pin codes, passwords, logins - anything that involves private data. Customer support is available for any questions I might have, and have been very helpful in assisting us i migrating from US servers to EU servers.

**What do you dislike about Bitwarden?**

There could be more guides in how to use Bitwarden in coding and pipelines to leave passwords out of code.

**What problems is Bitwarden solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bitwarden is helping my team to store passwords for shared systems and when passwords roll - everyone is automatically updated.

  ### 23. Great support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** andrew g. | security, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Bitwarden?**

I don't believe there is anything new to Bitwarden. The Web ui seems slightly different but I don't see any improvements.

**What do you dislike about Bitwarden?**

Similar to the last feedback. The folder and collection still isn't very intuitive. But generally the Bitwarden interface and how you access secrets isn't the best user experience. Other password managers have a sleeker browser integration and web interface.

**What problems is Bitwarden solving and how is that benefiting you?**

password manager

  ### 24. Stable, Easy to Use, and Open-Source—Perfect for Local Deployment

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Bitwarden?**

I enjoy the stability, the ease of use, implementation. Also the fact that it is open-source and community driven plays a big role. I can also deploy this locally which is a huge plus to not having to be dependent on a cloud sevice.

**What do you dislike about Bitwarden?**

Nothing much really. Like I said, big fan of the product

**What problems is Bitwarden solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My entire family uses it and feels reassured of that fact that all passwords are unique now as opposed to trying to memorize each individual one. Also the realization of not having to link them to a specific browser is a major one.

  ### 25. Effortless to Use and Easy to Get Started

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Bitwarden?**

The ease of use for non technical users.

**What do you dislike about Bitwarden?**

Bitwarden needs more admin policies to centrally control access. Also need a way to share passwords securely with non bitwarden users.

**What problems is Bitwarden solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Provides a way to securely store and use shared passwords.

  ### 26. Make my online life easy

  ### 27. Simply the Best Password Manager, even on free tier!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Bitwarden?**

Bitwarden is easy to use and offers all the essential features you might want from a password manager, even on its free tier. The mobile app is excellent and easy to use. I like how the app pulls the website icon you're saving the credentials for because it makes it easy to identify the records.

UPDATE: The Browser extension has greatly improved.

**What do you dislike about Bitwarden?**

- Although the mobile and desktop apps are excellent, the UI could be better. The UX flow to add a record to your favorite records is obscure compared to other alternatives.
- There is no built-in dark web monitoring or automatic password rotation.
- Having the option to use the free tier app to store MFA authenticators would be an excellent addition to the free tier.

UPDATE: Do a better job at promoting new features and changes as they are added to the app.

**What problems is Bitwarden solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the need for a free password manager that syncs your passwords between all your devices. It makes it super easy to quickly log in to all your accounts on multiple devices

  ### 28. Straightforward... does what it says it does.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Bitwarden?**

Very easy to use, allows teams to use a shared vault. Fairly straightforward setup for our end users.

**What do you dislike about Bitwarden?**

If you haven't signed into the web extension, the request to open Bitwarden can cover the login box.

**What problems is Bitwarden solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As the head of the Information Security team, I know that the vaults are secure for our end users.

  ### 29. Reliable Password Manager That Simplifies My Life

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Bitwarden?**

What I like most is just how reliable it is. I don’t have to remember dozens of passwords or write them down anywhere risky. It’s always there when I need it, and it works across my phone and laptop without any fuss. Having everything synced up just makes life easier. Finally, I can create passwords very quickly when I'm finishing a subscription to a website.

**What do you dislike about Bitwarden?**

If I’m being honest, the app isn’t the prettiest. Sometimes it takes a few clicks to find what I’m looking for, and once or twice I’ve had to manually sync between devices. But those are pretty small issues in the grand scheme of things. Overall, it just does its job and I don’t have to think about it much.

**What problems is Bitwarden solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I no longer have to remember multiple passwords or worry about using weak, repeated ones. It saves me time, reduces frustration with logins and resets.

  ### 30. Affordable, Better then the Others

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alan P. | Owner, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2024

**What do you like best about Bitwarden?**

I've been using it for years now.. and it just keeps getting better. I've used several others that cost more, but Bitwarden is awesome and keep getting better. Not only does it keep password easy to access, but safe and I can access it on all my devices (PC, tablet, phone). You can keep secure notes, I use it to store recovery codes or notes where the login doesnt have enough space. It has an authenticator now.. which make things so much easier just having 1 app to do everything. You can share login with others and now they have a business section for multiple users. It just keep getting better over the years, and still for the same price.

**What do you dislike about Bitwarden?**

Sometimes on different websites, the login don't work properly so you can have copy/paste the info.

**What problems is Bitwarden solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used to store all my password in a notebook or in excel. I used other password managers then I found Bitwarden. It has more features the others and is so much cheapaer then every one I used to use. I love how easy it is to get started and add new logins. Plus I can use it on multiple comptuers without it logged in out on one computer. Probably the best software I have found!

  ### 31. Very satisfied

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2023

**What do you like best about Bitwarden?**

They provide enhanced security updates and greatly improve the overall UI design.

**What do you dislike about Bitwarden?**

Migration from US to EU - you have to recreate the whole account I'm aware thats due to security reasons

**What problems is Bitwarden solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Saving our passwords in a safe place and accessing them with 2 factor authentication.

  ### 32. the best password management app

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mervin Lance C. | Freelance Search Engine Optimization Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2025

**What do you like best about Bitwarden?**

It's simple and very intuitive. It's also very cheap compared to alternatives when comparing their paid plans.

**What do you dislike about Bitwarden?**

The collections system could use some improvement for new-ish users. But once you get the hang of it, it's fine.

**What problems is Bitwarden solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have so many passwords and I don't want to use the same passwords over and over again. Their password generator is very helpful and I also like that I could use a passphrase so my passwords are more memorable.

  ### 33. Best free password manager available today

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aaron D. | Computer Support Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Bitwarden?**

Still the best free password manager. They have incorporated support for passkeys earning their position as the best option for a password manager at no cost. I have nothing but respect and appreciation for them and their service.

**What do you dislike about Bitwarden?**

The only areas for improvement may be slight GUI enhancements, but largely it's just personal preference and I think the issue that peers struggle with when using this is lack of familiarity with larger concepts more than troubles with the GUI.

**What problems is Bitwarden solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows better password habits. After use I have more unique and long/complex passwords than ever before and can still access on every platform I use (windows, Mac, iPhone, and browser)

  ### 34. “Simple and reliable password manager across devices

**What do you like best about Bitwarden?**

Simple to use, works well across devices, and helps keep all my passwords organized in one place.

  ### 35. My opinion about Bitwarden

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Igor G. | Cyber Security - Junior Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Bitwarden?**

My experience:
I have been using Bitwarden for a few years, I discovered it when I was using another manager and it became paid overnight, everything changed, and Bitwarden has been very useful in my daily life. At first, it took me some time to adapt and understand all the functions, but once I got the hang of it, it was smooth sailing. It's good to know that my passwords are secure and easily accessible anywhere.

What I liked:
Bitwarden is a password manager that has helped me a lot to organize and centralize all my accounts and keep everything secure. It has several advantages, such as:
- Works on all my devices: I use it on my phone, computer, and even in the browser.
- Free and accessible: The free version is already quite complete, and the paid plans are cheap compared to other managers.
- Useful features: It has a strong password generator (I don't use it much, but I should) and support for two-factor authentication, which makes the accounts even more secure.

**What do you dislike about Bitwarden?**

What can be improved:
As a point of improvement, the only thing I can point out would be the design. The interface is not the most beautiful; I find it somewhat simple. Even after a recent change, I think it could be more modern and intuitive.

**What problems is Bitwarden solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bitwarden solved my problem of forgetting my passwords by helping me generate strong and unique passwords for each account, without worrying about remembering all of them. Additionally, it makes accessing my accounts much easier, as it synchronizes everything across all my devices.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Bitwarden?**

What I appreciate most about Bitwarden is that it allows me to store all my application logins securely in one place, protected by a single master password. This means I only need to remember one login, which makes things much simpler. I also find it very convenient that I can easily copy and paste usernames, passwords, and 2FA codes from the Bitwarden app directly into any application or website with just a click, and everything remains masked from view for added security.

Although I wasn't involved in the initial implementation or integration of Bitwarden, our IT lead was able to set it up smoothly and continues to support and encourage its use within our team. I rely on Bitwarden multiple times each day to access the various applications I need for my work, as well as to log in to customer applications when providing support.

So far, I haven't needed to contact Bitwarden's customer support because the application has been reliable and trouble-free—it simply works as expected. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend Bitwarden to any business that values security and needs to manage access to numerous applications on a daily basis.

**What do you dislike about Bitwarden?**

I've not experienced any downsides as of yet

**What problems is Bitwarden solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bitwarden addresses the challenge of remembering numerous passwords and 2FA credentials. It streamlines the process, making everything more efficient and convenient.
