**What do you like best about BigTime?**

The intuitive nature of the software is a breath of fresh air!

**What do you dislike about BigTime?**

One of the areas that I would hope the Bigtime team would consider involves adding a feature to the payroll system. Currently, the program does not differentiate between regular and PTO hours.  

We feel it is essential to calculate those hours for our employees so that they/we always know how much they have used and how much remains in their banks.

Another helpful upgrade wish involves including a contact list. We use the program to track our projects/clients/hours, and it would be super beneficial to have a global contact list available to all users—a searchable database of clients, vendors, and employees.

The use of the program is incredibly intuitive, and it has been pretty easy for the entire team to jump in and begin to use the system.

**What do you like best about BigTime?**

I loved the whole onboarding session of the tool, their support team was very helpful, and it was very smooth. At first, we had a learning curve only to realise that the platform is intuitive and easy to use.

It takes time to process bulk orders, and dummy/void invoices are not activated.

**What problems is BigTime solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is the biggest problem solver of billing and tracking expenses. Makes our life easy; additionally, I also love time management and team management for the correct billing to clients.

**What do you like best about BigTime?**

It's simple to set up and use. Usually works great. Easy for my team to use too.  Sync into QB is a breez.
When I do need help, support is quick and friendly. And we get right onto a screen share to fix it instead of chatting forever. Takes mere moments when issues do arise.

**What do you dislike about BigTime?**

I wish it showed clock time - like what time of day a timer starts and ends, and not just duration.  The two clicks to start or pause a timer sometimes trips me up.  I click start, but not start again, so then I'm guessing how long it has been.  Which is where seeing the clock time for the prior work would be helpful.  I'd know what time it was when I switched projects but didn't start my timer all the way.

**What problems is BigTime solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows me to import time to projects for both billing and payroll purposes.  Once imported into my accounting system, I can run job cost reports that pull in all payroll costs and get my true cost per project. I then check that against my subscription billing, project billing, or hourly billing (depending on the client) and can see where my profitability is highert and lowest

Rounding errors on invoicing. some lag time with expenses and timesheets.

Bugs like rounding and time lags. Some feature requests such as user rights (PMs can only view what they are leads on)

Simplicity of use, without much guidance.

I'm still figuring stuff out, there's some functionality not yet developed but it seems to be regularly updated, so I'm sure it will be there soon enough.

We have a nasty, really clunky legacy solution, so moving BigTime's simplicity is really refreshing and will make life much easier for everyone.

**What do you like best about BigTime?**

There are some nice integrations on the financial side.  You can enter hours, bill clients, and track financials.  It is better for individual consultants or consulting firms with minimal projects rather than mid size or larger consulting organizations.

**What do you dislike about BigTime?**

Resource planning is atrocious for a consulting firm.  Its like they have no idea how resource planning works and think that projects are only planned once a the agreement starts.  If you do consulting and want to allocate resources for future statements of work, forget about it.  You cannot differentiate future work and existing work on a single screen and there is no color coding to help.  You have to toggle between multiple screens.  There seems to be no thought into the actual functionality.  For example, if a project completes early and you have future allocations of resources, you can close the project, make all the tasks complete, and clear allocations, but those still allocations still remain in the resource allocation tool.  It makes it totally useless.   Additionally, if you use external team members (1099 consultants) to lead projects, its impossible to limit financial data and still allow them to use the PM tools.  Its all or none.  You either see everything or nothing which makes this software totally useless as a project too unless every team member is a W-2 employee.  Frustratingly, the sales team said we could use the system the way we needed it, which turned out to be totally false.  Nearly a year of working in this system is wasted and good luck trying to get support.  No phone support, only via a web browser and you are always 12 back in a queue and an hour to get any help.  We have had bugs in every aspect and most are explained as "this is unique to you only." BS.  Bugs were found way too often for that to be true.  My guess is really poor software development practices.  This is more of a billing tool that a integrated end to end project software for the services industry.

We have only implemented project and budget tracking as everything else doesn't work like it was sold to do.  We wanted a from sales close to project close solution.  What we got was a software that tracks hours against budgets and has a bunch of billing tool that are pointless if you use Quickbooks or other solutions.  It doesn't do anything beyond that work using.  We are now using other tools for project management and resourcing tracking because the implementations in BigTime are so bad.

My favorite thing about Big Time is their ability to work through any situation or problem you might be having with your integrated systems. They are absolutely top-notch! Top Y. helped me today and was extremely helpful! 10 out of 10!

There isn't anything I don't like about Big Time. It has been the best time tracking tool I've ever worked with!

It is the way to go if you run a business that requires project management and  multiple individuals! It keeps us on track and focused on what everyone needs at the end of the day, making money.

Great interactive reporting options and flexible invoicing formats. We received helpful training when we started using their product, and their help desk is responsive. Andres recently saved me a lot of time by resolving an invoicing glitch I was running into.

**What do you dislike about BigTime?**

They are highly focused on developing new features, which is great in some ways, but there are times when the beta testing is inadequate. They need to focus on supporting their primary product functionality so that the basics don't get lost in pursuing new elements. I'm told they are aware of this as a concern and are addressing it.

Greatly simplified our invoicing process and provided robust reporting options that were missing in our previous project management software. This allows us to use our time more efficiently and creates easy access to important metrics.

We have used Bigtime for the past decade, it is easy to customize and the support is always excellent.

**What do you dislike about BigTime?**

I dont dislike anything about Bigtime, but the issues we have are issues we would have with any other similar service.  There is a little bit of a learning curve from an admin standpoint but nothing that is over the top.

Bigtime makes it easy for us to keep on top of time spent on our engagements and includes the details of each entry.

**What do you like best about BigTime?**

Big Time is a great improvement on our old Excel timesheet, for sure. Our staff are so much happier logging their time in Big Time. Ongoing customer service through their live chat system works very well, and help is quick and useful. I dealt with Top Y this week for several questions and he was friendly and knowledgable, and prompt to respond.

**What do you dislike about BigTime?**

We need more reporting that matches how we plan our time at our design firm. We need everything as a reflection of hours (worked and billed), but Big Time still prioritizes dollars billed and can't yet report the equivalent hours billed. So, for now we still have to use a spreadsheet to supplement our Big Time use when it comes to our project planning and when making billing decisions. We are also waiting for the client portal to expand to their Canadian clients, hopefully this year.

**What problems is BigTime solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have heard from the Big Time team that's working on expanding their client portal to Canadian customers, so it's good to know it's really in the works and to be in the loop on release timing. However, for our need to see fees invoiced in equivalent hours invoiced, I had to submit a development proposal and so far have not heard anything back about that. This latter feature is crucial to our continued use of Big Time, long term I mean.

We are able to track and compare our Staff hours and Client hours all in one place.  BigTime compiles the data and provides dashboards and reports to meet our needs.

The "customizable" reporting does not provide the user with as many fields or features as we would like.

**What do you like best about BigTime?**

The Live Chat was actually helpful! I typically like dealing with support for my software over the phone. But Brittany was patient and answered all of my many questions! Walked me through certain things and was able to get me to understand her answers clearly. I do like that Lacerte can talk to Big Time. I love that for our reference when we get an issue resolved or we get something clarified; we can request that the chat transcript be sent to us.  And we can use that to study, create, or adjust our own processes from there. I also like that we can assign clients who are spouses different roles for ease of knowing whom to contact for billing or who to contact for all tax matters. This helps us to avoid a lot of confusion and frustration once we know right out of the gate, which spouse to reach for what. We have plenty of places to input multiple phone numbers and emails.  Setting user rights is helpful so that we limit who has access to which BT areas could end up billable by mistake. I also like how simple it is to set up new clients; we can be as detailed as we want with the information we put in.

**What do you dislike about BigTime?**

I don't like that Big Time can't "talk to" Lacerte and that the invoices and billing we create in Lacerte don't pull to Big time. We were hoping for a more streamlined  software connection. Also, it's not always clear what needs to match from Lacerte to Big Time in order to make sure integrations go smoothly from Lacerte to BT. It would be nice to have a list made available of the things that need to match and what things cannot be pulled over from Lacerte. We do have to go back to Live Chat quite a bit to figure these things out. The big plus is how helpful Live chat is. We still prefer to have a phone number for support, especially during tax time. It will not always be feasible for us to wait in a queue in an office that processes over 1,000 tax returns each season. Also when integrating from Lacerte to BT there was mention that duplicates of clients may not be avoidable and that BT will not always show you or even provide a hint as to which client profile is the duplicate. This will require painstaking work to individually research every duplicate and determine which to delete or make inactive. Time we don't always have. It would be nice if duplicates were highlighted and the mismatch information was also, highlighted that way we can at a glance see which to keep.  I would also like for BT Live chat to have a list of topics that we can choose from and certain issues that would be made priority and be able to jump the line as it were in the queue. Not everyone requesting live chat assistance has the same level of emergency.  It would also be helpful if BT could provide groups of companies whether determined by state or industry, with account managers or dedicated support teams that we know we could reach out to for priority level issues that would be resolved within a specific time frame of no later than 24 hours or sooner depending on the level of importance of the issues.

**What problems is BigTime solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can use 1 system for both our timesheets and for keeping track of how many billable hours we put into each client. And that we can have multiple timers for different tasks to see how we are splitting our time gives us insight into our process and our day to day. We are able to look at how we spend our time and adjust any procedures or fine tune or eliminate as needed.

**What do you like best about BigTime?**

We can track and analyze where we are most profitable and where we need to make adjustments long before we get to the end of any given project. Tracking time, expenses, invoices is all simple.

**What do you dislike about BigTime?**

There are a few improvements we'd like to see made.  Those suggestions have been submitted, but in order for them to be addressed, it takes multiple submittals from different clients.
Integration with Quickbooks for deposits is one of those items.

**What problems is BigTime solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are hoping they are working on a way to track overpayments while still syncing from Bigtime to Quickbooks.  This integration only works while syncing from Bigtime to quickbooks and not the other way around.

I love that we can customize invoices for exactly what is needed. I love the process controls for invoicing - makes it easy for a team to collaborate for a multi-step process. Piner Markovchick was really fun to work with, was so knowledgable about the details of the application - he made the process enjoyable with little to no stress at all.

I don't like that you have to get into code to customize some invoices. Sometimes when you make an error, the system doesn't actually tell you what the error is. IT JUST SAYS ERROR. And I have to guess.

What I love most about BigTime is how information is seamlessly connected. Employees enter time. Projects are created. Reports combine all of this information to report billable time, profitability, bill rates, etc.

We have had some difficulties getting BigTime, Sage, and Hubspot linked. We still have many pieces that are not syncing and not automatically sharing information as they should.

Employee time tracking, invoicing, billing are SO much better in BigTime than Quickbooks. We were having to manually enter bill rates for clients and now this is all automated and setup at the project level vs. on each timesheet entry.

Besides making it very easy to track consulting time and expenses to specific projects, the reporting is very flexible.  Also, every time I have ever contacted support, the response has been quick, friendly and very helpful!  Shout out to Brittany Urrutia during my latest chat session for being able to resolve my reporting question in a few minutes! :)

No major dislikes so far, but if I had to single anything out, there is no way to put a daily cap on hours assigned to an individual consultant per project.  However, I did report this to BigTime and they have added it to their "enhancement list"...

I get extensive data on my projects in real time. The dashboard is intuitive and it's easy to stay on top of the administrative tasks. The support team is great! Tyler Gubser has provided quick and clear solutions.

Some of the reports can be tricky to find at first, but it isn't a problem once you get used to where to look. There are so many reports available that it's just a lot to look through at first.

I chose BigTime for the invoicing capability for architecture firms.  I previously created invoices using Microsoft Excel, and BigTime is a vast improvement.  The interface is intuitive, so I haven't needed much support. My issues have been resolved using the chat feature when I have needed support.  Thank you to Nate H. for helping me to fix my most recent problem.

When I publish an invoice to QuickBooks Online, I wish the BigTime invoice would be attached in QBO.  At the moment, I manually attach BigTime invoices in QBO.

BigTime is a simple, but very customizable and flexible tool that we currently use for all time tracking and billing. It's extremely user-friendly and easy to navigate for all of our users. Their support team is fantastic, extremely responsive, and thorough. I resolve quick responses to my questions. Leah J has been a huge help to me in my various support needs.

Sometimes our Quickbooks sync doesn't work successfully, but hard to say whether this is a BigTime issue or on Quickbooks side.

**What problems is BigTime solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it for all time tracking for our various projects. It's extremely flexible in the way we can set each project up, since our tasks, billing, etc all varies by project pretty significantly. The reporting section is great - there are many standard reports available, or we have the ability to create our own. I've reached out to support for assistance in setting up the report for my needs, and they're able to very quickly help get the report ready for me to use. Billing is also very simple. There are so many options in how to bill, we can use what makes the most sense for us based on various nuances, as well as our clients. Expense tracking is also very simple and intuitive for our employees.

I don't like that if I have an issue or question, I cant get someone on the phone - I have to put in a service ticket and wait for someone to call me back or use the Live chart, which can be frustrating when you are trying to explain the problem. Also, the BIG Time App is not great and not user friendly

Very easy to implement and works well if you want o keep QBO as your accounting system. Overall, it has been great for our office, however the Big TIme App is not great

It's very easy to use even for beginners, and very easy to configure and forecasting and utilization tolls are also a great feature as it helps us to manage staffer availability.

Migration is little bit challenging. Customer support is not satisfactory.

BigTime is much easier to navigate and use than our previous time and billing software; the required training, and especially the one-on-one training with project manager Aly was key in preparing me to administer the software.

We have had some trouble getting reports, especially payment vs charges, to look the way our attorneys were accustomed to.

Our previous time and billing software simultaneously stopped supporting our small business configuration and drastically raised their rates.  So, it is glorious to have a reasonably priced, robust system.  I had to go into the old system recently and found it to be very non-intuitive compared to BigTime.

It is fine, but it does have a few bugs that seem challenging to iron out.

They have helps us solve a few issues along the way, and helped us quite a bit with our initial invoicing templates. Daniel Novak and Kat S. have been helpful. Our training with Matt Fine was good as well. The problem with training is that their should be initial training to get you going, and perhaps 9mos later, the offer of more advanced training. The problem is that it is hard to achieve everything you may need up front. That said, service desk and assistance to figure things out seems adequate.

We are a small firm, so the syncing ability with Quickbooks is a big selling point for our company. It has been so helpful in verifying information.  The sync feature also allows us to create projects in Bigtime that aren't in a billing phase yet and hold them there until we are awarded the project.

**What do you dislike about BigTime?**

It's a little early for this question for our firm, but my only complaint so far is that the invoice template is not as customizable as the templates in QuickBooks.

BigTime saves our admin and accounting department so much time.  We previously tracked time in Quickbooks, which was all input by hand.  With BigTime, employees log their time, and with a few buttons, we can send all of our employees' timesheet data to Quickbooks for payroll.  We are also delighted with its ability to track time spent on phases.  We are excited to use the data from our first year using BigTime to reconfigure our fee structure.
