User friendly for adding products to my shop. The clean and crisp free templates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some apps integration take help not the simplest. But the individual apps company has been able to help get them integrated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
SEO field to add keywords, etc., easy to use Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Unethical business practices, overcharged me and threatened to shut my site down.Customer service is lacking, no sense of urgency, refuse to allow you to speak to any management or billing department. This was not always the case, apparently there are new owners. I would not set up a new business with them, and would move but it's a large project and expense so I'm stuck. It has a very easy to use interface. Allows you to easily teach team members how to assist customers, add products, and more. They have a great support website where you can find forums on almost anything you need help with in BigCommerce. Their livechat support is also very quick and helpful. Intergration of most apps is easy. Recommend shogun and justuno apps if running a e-commerce site with BigCommerce. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not the most advanced for promotions or shipping. Needs several external apps to run most efficiently. Some free, some paid for. Would like to see some of the same features from Shopify, like the easy text checkout feature and Instagram integration. If you do personalized items it is a bit tricky to set up those as well and sometimes limits you. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Love the ease of use, and the ability to be up and running in one day (minus listing all your products) if you have all your products already in a list somewhere you can import them and be completely running in one day! Its is a great platform to create a robust website without compromising on your design. allows for complete theme customization, as well as word press integration Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
some of the options are not there right now but I believe this is because they are still developing the new UI that they just released hoping they iron out the UI in the coming months, some of these options are still available but only through the API or when you import products Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

When comparing Shopify and BigCommerce I use this analogy: Shopify is to Mac and BigCommerce is to Windows. As such if you need more horsepower or have a more custom job BigCommerce is fantastic. You also get more out of the box features than Shopify. Lastly, payment gateway flexibility is great (big deal for international sellers). Shopify works with a list half the size of BigCommerce. BigCommerce excels in for medium size and up companies. Unfortunately for them though, if you don't need their horsepower or customization, you're likely better off going with Shopify. Recalling the Mac/Windows analogy BigCommerce is a little less user friendly or at least has a bit more of the learning curve. For my team that means usually more time intensive builds. One of the things that caught my attention about BigCommerce are the big name companies that use it. BigCommerce has a fairly simple account interface with lots of tools that help us to create and organize our store items and design our store. There are hundreds of templates for us to choose from that can suit the needs of many types of products, services and store types. We can even change the layout on many of these templates to better align with our marketing and branding needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I took a look at many ecommerce solutions and found that there are lots of services that cost less than BigCommerce. I think we do get good value for what we pay, but I would prefer if the pricing could be more competitive with some of these other solutions out there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Big Commerce takes a lot of the work out of managing an e-commerce store. I like the configurability of products (using options and sku's) which is critical to the e-commerce store that I run. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish I could configure just a bit more...mostly how the pages display for certain groups of products. I think I can do this individually but that would be a lot of work. I also think the work flow for managing product options could much better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
