To be honest, we had a rough start with our integration setup. It took months to get everything set up properly. My business consists of myself and two employees. Betterment at Work provides 401(k) and other services even for truly small businesses. And we received the same high level of service as larger companies including a dedicated onboarding contact, in-person meetings as needed, and a speedy process to roll out our 401(k). Onboarding was not fully self-service, as I had expected from experience with the personal side of Betterment. It required a contract to be signed and 2 or 3 weeks of processing period, notifying my employees, etc.

I like Betterment at Work because it's easy to navigate through different areas like employee information, contribution amounts, and payroll reports. I find it really helpful that all the data for employees is maintained in one place, showing details like employee names, payroll process, contribution amounts, and the total contributions till date. I feel like sometimes stuff in Betterment at Work can be really confusing for me, and it isn't quite dumbed down enough. I also feel like some experiences working with Betterment employees have not been great. They've been a little bit on the cranky side, so I usually leave the conversation feeling guilty about asking for help or feeling bad that I was bothering them.
