"Easy-to-use platform and stellar CS team!"
What do you like best about Bento?

Bento gives me the autonomy to publish educational resources in our platform at the moment of need for users, instead of trying to get an engineering resource assigned to each small project that comes up. We have saved a ton of time and internal resources because of Bento. It's been great to work collaboratively with other teams on new tooltips or guides that would benefit our customers; everyone is really excited to have this strategy at their disposal!

I have previous experience using digital adoption tools like WalkMe and I was pleasantly surprised at how much easier it is to build in Bento. My team and I do not have extensive coding backgrounds, and Bento has made it very easy to select elements and stay out of the source code, something I struggled with in previous tools.

All of that said, I think my absolute favorite part about Bento is my CSM, Meera! Having a CS background myself, I think sometimes my standards are a bit high, but Meera surpasses them every time. She is very quick to respond, answers all of my questions, and provides guidance and education so I can become an expert with Bento. I feel like she's an extension of our team, which has been absolutely wonderful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bento?

There are some features I noticed Bento does not have today that other DAP tools do, but they are constantly releaseing new features and incorporating AI into the tool which makes me excited for the future. Whenever I have feedback, my CSM is quick to share internally and fill me in on the latest product roadmap. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Bento is a core tool for our product team and as a designer."
What do you like best about Bento?

I think the ethos of what I love about Bento is that, as a product designer, the tool allows me to directly influence our product experience without compromising design quality or requiring dev resources. Whether it's the adoption of a large feature, a quick announcement, or even a band-aid solution for a confusing area of the product (until our devs can get to it) -- bento makes it very easy to design, launch, and measure in-app guides and contextual solutions that customers can interact with immediately. What do you dislike about Bento?

I don't have any strong dislikes. Bento is constantly innovating and issues seem to be resolved quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Game changer for customer onboarding"
What do you like best about Bento?

Bento is an intuitive, easy-to-use tool for customer onboarding. What started as a small trial quickly became a company-wide excitement to integrate Bento into all our customer comms. We are now beginning to set up Bento for everything from subscription-specific onboarding to training reinforcement for advanced users.

Bento became a quick hit with Engineering when it became clear how little work was needed on their end (outside of the initial integration). Also, engagement is significantly higher than with our general newsletter communications. We're excited to see how Bento helps us continue to drive customer adoption! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bento?

No major dislikes. There has been a normal amount of bugs/initial deployment questions, but the Bento team has quickly addressed any issues that have come up. In terms of future roadmap, I'm excited to see Bento continue to build more robust reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient onboarding tool for accelerated team performance"
What do you like best about Bento?

The best thing about Bento is its seamless integration and how ease it is to costumize the look and feel to match our product.

This level of integration and automation has empowered our team to work more autonomously, saving us precious time and resources wiht very minimal involvement of our development team. It allows us to test, iterate and target a specific set of users making sure the experience is personalized and valuable.

Additionally, the Bento team's outstanding customer support enhanced our experience by providing best practices and implementing new features that met our needs! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bento?

I would like to see more features in the future - reporting is still a bit confusing, specially when targeting a specific set of users. As our product and team of product management grows it would be great to have more insights on how to manage several announcements at the same time (e.g. throttling). "Bento is supporting our move from hand held onboarding to customer self-serve"
What do you like best about Bento?

In our organization, this tool is owned by the scaled customer success team. I like the functionality of how guides (Bento's version of the product tour) are organized in an everliving pop-out that our customers can quickly reference. The guides are easy to set up and the customer targeting is relatively intuitive.

Another thing we are very excited to start using is the rich content we can customize at the customer or user level. An example of this would be something like "Congrats Jane Doe! You successfully hired 10 people last week, but we noticed that 3 applicants got stuck in an application stage because 2 of your managers didn't have their calendars set up. Make sure you update their schedule!" This doesn't necessarily fit into the onboarding use case, but an example we'd like to try out.

We are also planning to use Bento to test some early versions of our product dashboard. Again, this is by no means the core use case, but this shows the flexibility of the product and the possibilities that exist. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bento?

Bento does not have mobile functionality, this is unique to our customer base which is primarily mobile first.

This tool has also taken us a while to implement because we did not get engineering buy-in prior to procuring Bento. The segment integration was seamless, but we needed new events and attributes built in either segment or bento (via JS snippet) to use the entire functionality of this product. Also, you are not able to trigger bento onboarding guides with track events, bento only allows users to kill guides when a track event occurs.

Our team found a hacky workaround for creating new attributes and events that will work in the short term, but I suggest that anyone that goes through the Bento procurement process have it sit in the product org or get sufficient buy-in from engineering to support any new attributes or events that have to be created. This is by no means a knock on the product but makes life a little bit easier when implementing the tool Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to Deploy, Effectively Everboard"
What do you like best about Bento?

Bento has provided us with a seamless and straightforward way to onboard our new customers. Onboarding and account activation can take time and constant handholding, and Bento allows us to everboard our customers, meaning our customers are always learning. The ability to target specific segments and roles within our customer base has also been a game changer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bento?

The only minor issue we have had is that we haven't been able to pull the data out of Bento and into our database. We are working on that, and the Bento team has been accommodating! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Bento has saved our small team tons of time"
What do you like best about Bento?

The Bento product is easy to use, and the Bento team has been great to work with! We've been able to set up relatively complex onboarding guides quite quickly. One possibly underappreciated aspect of using Bento is how easy it is to iterate and change things until you're satisfied with your onboarding flow. Via normal development, the same iterations would have taken weeks instead of hours. The Bento platform enabled our dev team to work on other projects. Bento gives you just the right amount of flexibility without being so complex that it's painful. It's also straightforward to integrate into your site. Finally, I appreciated the guidance and ideas from the Bento team, both via meetings and from website articles. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bento?

There aren't many things to dislike; Bento has met our needs very well! The dashboard has a few UI bugs, but I'm confident they'll get taken care of over time. In the future, I'd love to see the Bento team offer "drip style" onboarding emails (currently, one "nudge" email is supported, which is a great start), a CSV export for all users and the steps they completed (to join with our data), and more text styling options. Finally, it would be great if onboarding and contextual guides had separate limits. Contextual guides are excellent, but since we've chosen a plan with a guide limit, it's hard to justify deploying anything other than onboarding guides since they are more powerful. "A refreshing take on user onboarding and everboarding"
What do you like best about Bento?

Embedding Bento elements into your app with styling that makes it seamless and functionality that shares data between Bento and your own database to integrate deeply. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bento?

Some of their app's features and UX are a tad raw and need further refinement. That said, the speed and responsiveness of their team builds confidence that the months to come will resolve much of this! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple to use and powerful features!"
What do you like best about Bento?

This app does not waste my time with font import/setup. I love the Inline style preview, so I don't have to publish to preview. With this, I can concentrate on content, targeting, and enhancing my growth experiments and strategy.

Love the customer support and responsiveness, especially during evaluation and onboarding. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bento?

They are a new startup, I wish they provide more self-serve documentation so I don't have to bother customer support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
