BenchPrep Ascend may not have all the features a user may need for a product. However, the team is willing to take requests and work with their engineers to bring new feature ideas to life. One of the most impressive things about BenchPrep is the support you receive. It doesn't matter if it is the designated support staff, account manager, project managers, or anyone else; they all are willing to jump onto whatever problem they can help solve for you. BenchPrep, in its current state, feels like it's in its adolescence. The company appears to have a general direction they would like to go, but there are a handful of awkward gaps in available services/features. Based on talks I have had with employees, I feel confident many of those issues will be solved in the near future, but I question why it took until now to identify and solve them. The benchprep platform is a turnkey solution for PMI's needs. The platform is so easy to use for both customers and admins. The study plan feature, the strength, and weaknesses is a very useful feature for an exam prep candidate. The flashcards and practice exams are a great feature. I'm most impressed by BenchPrep's customer service and responsiveness. They've been very attentive and responsive and make us feel like our needs are theirs. Jessica Small, our customer relations manager, has been very engaging and upfront with us. She makes sure we understand what is needed on both ends and puts forth a significant amount of effort to work with us. She has also gone above and beyond to ensure we're getting quality service, even so much as to attend our national conference to work our trade show booth and represent the product to our members. There can be a lot of moving pieces and players. With a growing company, it's easy to get lost in the varying portfolios. Sometimes things do not move as fast as we like due to internal constraints that we were not aware of. Jessica is very responsive and transparent when problems arise. For those just looking to take their content online, BenchPrep is a great partner in doing so. Users who are unfamiliar with online learning will find the experience intuitive, with a learner interface that is clean, relatively modern, and has a bunch of interesting features. Their instructional design team are a pleasure to work with and experts with the system, helping you get the most out of your content, in a collaborative fashion. Likewise, their Account Management team has a wealth of knowledge, are very supportive, and are available whenever you need them. Going a step further, we've been able to interact directly with their product and development teams, making custom requests and helping (at least a little) to shape their roadmap for the future. It's not a Learning Management System. They say so themselves. Which in practical terms means that the overall feature set is pretty limited, especially when considering the price. It is very expensive compared to other full-featured systems. The admin experience can at best be described as limiting and clunky. Most features are available only upon request, requiring custom development work likely 6-12 weeks out from the initial discussion. Likewise, the system doesn't follow any standards, such as .imscc, QTI, LTI, and even SCORM support is a complex and custom endeavor. The authoring tool within the platform is decent, but isn't really at a place where it is fit for end-user use.
