BCF can be used to deliver the information of all coordination related queries. The major advantage of using BCF rather than NWC is that it won't require 3D space. It was majorly be used for issue traking in the building information model. It is primarily used in my organization for defining views of a building model and the information related to the collisions or errors in the specific object in a view. The major thing i dislike about BCF is that it is completely a file based format which can easily be either an older version also. Although now there are some major up gradations over a last few years but it is not as easy handling as the other type of formats available in the market right now.
