It is showing its age. The templates are a little dated and it doesn't make dynamic ads. Google no longer prefers static or HTML5 ads. It is good for some other ad distribution networks that still use static image formats and html5 ads. **What do you dislike about BannerBoo?** It is very difficult to sort the templates or filter them in any plausible way. The editing interface is very dated in comparison to other systems. The program offers also the possibility of creating a nice range of different output files, ie. movable and/or static formats such as HTML5, gif, mp4, png, jpeg etc. **What do you dislike about BannerBoo?** Not so many stock images to choose from and the viewing panel for the existing ones is much too small, making it difficult to search. Here are my finding from quickly trying out a few samples: What I like most: - great job on the UI/UX overall. - what keeps me interested is the pretty good sample templates. I do hope that it will continue to grow weekly/monthly. - I see the value in being able to create some simple animated ads quickly. Time is a big deal. - I like the UI/UX more than Google Web Designer. I love the preview feature. - being able to host the ad - edit them once and have them update everywhere. **What do you dislike about BannerBoo?** - the animation options seem to be limited primarily to in-out transitions. There is a custom animation option that is not usable for what I've tried to achieve. I can't seem to be able to animate by manipulating the item and adding keyframes for rotation, size, color, (CSS transform, translate, style) changes. - the included object library is limited to a few items and limited functionality. - can't seem to be able to do animations like in Animatron: like creating/editing animating objects. For example, you can't make something like the animated snowman from one of the templates by animating the hand and the hat in the app. You'd have to bring a fully animated graphic in, therefore having to add another software in the workflow, which would no longer be as quick and straightforward. NOTE for the developer: if you decide to add more advanced controls, consider adding a separate toggle-able expert/standard mode. In standard mode UI would remain clean and simple to use. Animatron has something like that. Currently, I'm still on the fence about it. I will play more with it and closely watch the development in the next few weeks, then decide. However, the developer's work so far is of high quality, and it deserves a high rating. I think anyone interested in this should try and see how it meets their particular expectations. **What problems is BannerBoo solving and how is that benefiting you?** I'm looking for a quick ad creation workflow for animated ads. But to produce this in formats compatible with all major and many minor ad networks and social platforms in a matter of seconds with reliably good design over and over again? Well, that's a profession in and of itself. My time is better spent elsewhere. Bannerboo does a great job of reducing time spent on creative... creation by factors. I enjoy using it, and it will almost certainly find very regular use as part of my everyman arsenal. My favourite feature so far is that banners can be updated on the fly. Change in the dashboard, and your banners change everywhere online. Huge timesaver. **What do you dislike about BannerBoo?** There are bugs, and QoL features missing, but overall the product is sound, and well worth the investment. Things I'd like to see: A warning that ad blockers will break the animations. Fewer bugs. A slight UI revamp to make selecting and manipulating objects easier. CUSTOM COLOUR PALLETS! Seriously, this one feels like it should have been there on launch. Currently I can scroll through a lovely list of predefined pallets, that change the entire design in one godlike click. But shockingly, none of the brands I work for use those exact same colours, forcing me to change each element individually.
