For me, the biggest benefit is the time and communication it saves. **What do you like best about BambooHR?**

We use BambooHR as our central HR platform for pretty much everything people-related. Day-to-day that means managing employee records, handling time-off requests and approvals, and running onboarding and offboarding workflows for new hires and departures. We also use it for performance reviews and tracking 1:1s with managers, and our employees use the self-service features to update their own info, check PTO balances, and access company documents. It’s essentially replaced a mix of spreadsheets and disconnected tools we were using before.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

Reporting can feel limited unless you’re on a higher-tier plan, and the payroll module still feels a bit disconnected from the rest of the platform. Pricing is also frustrating — you have to request a quote just to get a number, which makes budgeting comparisons harder than it should be.

**What problems is BambooHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It eliminated the spreadsheet chaos we had for employee records and time-off tracking. Everything’s in one place now, which saves hours of admin work each week and means fewer errors when it comes to payroll and compliance.

What I like best about BambooHR
 is that it balances simplicity with strong HR functionality. The platform feels very clean and intuitive, which makes it easier for both HR teams and employees to actually use without a huge learning curve. A lot of HR software can feel overwhelming, but BambooHR is known for having one of the better UI/UX experiences in the HRIS space.

From an integrations standpoint, it works well with many third-party tools and supports 150+ integrations plus an open API, which helps companies connect payroll, benefits, and other HR systems without rebuilding their entire workflow.

Performance-wise, most users describe the system as reliable, fast, and easy to navigate for everyday tasks like onboarding, PTO requests, employee records, and reporting. However, some larger organizations mention that it can feel limiting when companies become highly complex or scale rapidly.

For pricing and ROI, BambooHR tends to provide strong value for small to midsize businesses because it centralizes many HR processes into one platform and reduces manual administrative work. The biggest downside is the lack of transparent pricing since most plans require custom quotes and add-ons can increase costs over time.

Support and onboarding are usually reviewed positively. Many users say implementation is straightforward and the onboarding workflows are one of BambooHR’s strongest features. Still, there are mixed experiences with customer support, especially when handling more advanced issues or larger implementations.

 is that while it’s very easy to use, it can start to feel limited as a company grows or needs more advanced HR workflows. A lot of users love the clean UI/UX at first, but later realize the customization and reporting tools are somewhat rigid compared to competitors like Rippling or Workday. 

Another common frustration is pricing transparency. BambooHR doesn’t publicly list full pricing, so businesses have to go through demos and sales calls just to get quotes. Many users also mention that important features such as payroll, benefits administration, advanced analytics, performance tools, and phone support are treated as paid add-ons, which can make the total cost much higher than expected.

Instead of managing hiring, onboarding, payroll, PTO, benefits, employee records, and performance reviews separately, it centralizes everything into one platform.

That benefits me because it saves a lot of time and reduces administrative stress. Tasks like onboarding new hires, approving time-off requests, updating employee information, and running payroll become much more streamlined and automated. Having everything in one place also reduces duplicate data entry and lowers the chance of errors.

Another major problem BambooHR solves is organization and accessibility. Employees can access pay stubs, PTO balances, company documents, and personal information themselves through self-service tools instead of constantly needing HR assistance. That improves communication and creates a smoother employee experience overall.

From a performance and workflow standpoint, BambooHR helps automate repetitive HR tasks and reporting. Features like automated onboarding workflows, reminders, approvals, and pre-built reports make operations more efficient and allow HR teams to focus more on employee support and company culture instead of paperwork.

The platform also helps solve integration and data consistency issues by syncing payroll, employee records, PTO tracking, and benefits data together. While some larger companies still report integration limitations, many small and midsize businesses benefit from having fewer disconnected systems to manage.

I really like that we can keep everything HR-related organized and in one place. The company calendar is helpful for seeing who will be out of the office. The hiring feature also keeps us organized, and the automated emails help us stay in touch with qualified candidates. I’m able to view compensation history as well as continuing education history for our employees, which makes it easier to keep records up to date.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

Sometimes the Time Off section is hard to follow, although that may just be due to how we have it set up.

**What problems is BambooHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We weren’t very strong at hiring and onboarding before, but BambooHR has made it much easier to ensure we have all the right paperwork in place before a new hire starts. Having new employees complete their paperwork digitally has been a real time-saver for us and helps the whole process feel more organized.

**What do you like best about BambooHR?**

I like BambooHR's very open and aesthetically pleasing interface. I like the way that it allows me to focus on items that are important, while also giving important information to me such as who is currently not in the office today and introducing new employees. It allows HR to post important notices and links to important issues. I also really enjoy the leave accrual calculator, which many other similar products are missing. When I first used it, the onboarding process was very streamlined and efficient, as well.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

The main use of BambooHR for the end user is using it for leave, so the other advantages of it (information about other employees, and the directory) are useful, but there is some overlap with information you might receive from other channels (such as Teams or the like). I would probably enjoy more integrations to allow BambooHR to be a more central repository of information rather than a bunch of individual minor services. Otherwise, I have no major issues with the product.

BambooHR is a valuable tool for helping onboard employees and provide them the ability to learn about each other, discover attendence availability, and easily log in one's one leave (while knowing exactly how much you will have at any given time in the future) in a streamlined and easy-to-use interface.

The core database is relatively stable for storing information once it’s actually in the system. The interface is basic but functional if you just need a simple digital filing cabinet for candidate records. The API integrations aren’t bad, and the day-off and vacation approval functions are useful as well.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

The platform feels outdated because it completely lacks modern AI features for screening, matching, or summarizing profiles. The biggest dealbreaker for us is the sourcing process: there’s no native integration, proper extension, or parsing tool to pull candidate data directly from LinkedIn. When our team finds a great candidate on LinkedIn, every single piece of their information has to be copy-pasted and entered into the database manually. That’s a massive waste of time and it seriously hurts our hiring efficiency.

Right now, it only meets the basic need of having a centralized candidate database, but it also creates new problems because there’s so little automation. Without AI capabilities or a seamless LinkedIn sourcing workflow, scaling our recruitment pipeline feels like an endless cycle of manual data entry instead of real talent acquisition.

What I like most is how everything I need is visible the moment I log in. I usually just check the dashboard to see who's out, any pending time-off requests, and general team updates. It saves me from asking around or checking multiple tools. It feels simple, but it actually makes daily HR-related checks much smoother.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

At times, I feel like I have to click around more than expected to find certain details. The dashboard is clean, but not everything is directly accessible from there. Also, I wish there were a bit more flexibility in customizing what shows up on the main screen.

I mainly solves the problem of scattered HR information. Earlier, Things like time - off tracking or team availability were not easy to check quickly. Now everything is in one place, so I can get a quick overview without interrupting anyone. It helps me stay updated and saves time during the day.

Easy to navigate, simple interface. I've never been unable to find something I'm looking for. I most often use the "time off" tab, and view the org chart. I have no complaints with either of those features.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

The only thing that I find difficult is accessing the company calendar. Right now I have to navigate to "Who's Out" and then click on a small button at the bottom that says "Full Calendar." I check the calendar not just for seeing who's out but also to find company holidays. I wish there was a more intuitive way to access it.

**What problems is BambooHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Both companies I've worked for have used BambooHR. I was actually glad to see my current company uses Bamboo when I joined! However, I can't say what I used to struggle with since I have never had to use another HR software. I also have to use Insperity to access my benefits, and I don't like Insperity as much as Bamboo. The UI feels more cluttered. They also make me change my password once a year, which I don't like.

I really like two key aspects of BambooHR: the streamlined interface and the intuitive way it lets me access what I need. Coming from multiple prior organizations that used Workday, I never feel lost in BambooHR or unsure about where to go or what to click. Everything I need is right in front of me when I log in; it isn’t cluttered or overwhelming, and it feels snappy to use. I can get everything done in seconds to minutes.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

BambooHR needs theme support so I can set up a dark mode for my view. I find the default theme too bright for my eyes, and being able to choose between a couple of different colour palettes would be lovely. Secondly I would like my vacation/sick/out-of-office to automatically populate into my Outlook calendar.

**What problems is BambooHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Everything about my own HR needs and my team. I can immediately see what is happening in my organization and team, plus get access to quick links, holidays, and time off. If I need more info it's ready under my profile and pay, benefits, docs, etc are all one click away. Secondly the integration with outlook pre-books any interviews we are doing.

The org chart/tree view is especially helpful for quickly understanding team structure and reporting lines. I also find it very convenient to request leave and easily check annual leave balances in one place. Overall, it saves time and makes HR processes much more organized and accessible.

One thing I dislike about BambooHR is that it can be hard to navigate to the Inbox, especially when trying to find sent requests. It would also be much better if it had a smoother integration with Slack for notifications and updates. In addition, BambooHR feels limited when it comes to tracking salary reviews, annual bonuses, and similar compensation-related processes. Improving these areas would make the platform much more complete and convenient.

BambooHR is very user-friendly. The interface is clean, and both HR admins and employees can navigate it easily with little to no training. Features like employee self-service, time-off tracking, onboarding workflows, and document management are well designed and help reduce a lot of manual effort.

The onboarding experience is especially strong. It helps standardize processes and makes it less likely that anything falls through the cracks. Reporting is also solid for day-to-day needs, and the option to customize certain fields and workflows adds helpful flexibility.

BambooHR starts to show its limitations when you get into more complex use cases. The reporting is solid, but it isn’t especially advanced if you need deeper analytics or highly customized reporting. The performance management and ATS features also feel somewhat basic compared to more specialized tools.

Integrations can be a bit limited depending on your tech stack, and if you’re trying to scale beyond a mid-sized team, you may end up needing additional tools or workarounds to cover everything you need.

**What do you like best about BambooHR?**

As an employee, I love how the dashboard shows my annual leave, so I can easily keep track of how many days off I have available. I also like that it lets me submit a leave request for my manager to approve. I don’t have to chase my leader to check the status or ask for approval, because Bamboo HR notifies the relevant stakeholders.

Our HR department has integrated courses on Udemy, so I can click the link directly and see which courses are available for me to complete. I can also see that many files are stored there, and I can find what I need quickly in one place without having to ask anyone else. When I need it, I feel I can trust Bamboo to handle the workload smoothly.

I was onboarded through Bamboo, and it gave me very clear instructions on what to do first and what to do next. That really impressed me and showed how professional the company is. When I uploaded the required files, everything worked reliably and was genuinely helpful.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

I think AI chat box not really helpful at the moment because I prompted some simple prompts but it didnt respond. Most of the time is "I'm sorry, I couldn't find specific guidance on how to view other employees in BambooHR." or similar to this.

The org chart is helpful, as well as knowing who is out of office. Maybe this is a feature request, but the "calculate balance" button in the time off request section I thought it would help calculate where your PTO is projected to be at by a certain date in the future at the current rate you have given the dates you already have locked in for time off to help you determine if you would have enough PTO by that date to cover a day off. Also, independent contractors are not listed in bamboo--I don't know if this is a company practice by not including them, but it would be helpful to know if they are still employed with us before I try to reach out to them.

Clarification with org chart easily accessible on who to report certain issues about. Easily accessible time off information to refer to and easy to submit requests. A few things have changed since my original review worth noting. We actually downgraded from the Pro Package to the Core Plan; not because of any dissatisfaction, but because we stopped using annual performance reviews and weren't utilizing Employee Community, so it simply didn't make sense to pay for features we weren't using. BambooHR made that transition easy with no drama.

What I want to add is this: the longer I use BambooHR, the more convinced I am that it's the right platform. The ATS continues to be one of my favorite features—I genuinely love it. Onboarding, offboarding, time off reporting, centralized employee data... it all runs smoothly and consistently, which matters enormously when you're a department of one supporting a fully remote team.

I also want to double down on something I said before about customer service. Every single interaction I've had has been with someone kind, genuine, and helpful. Even when the issue turned out to be my own user error which, I'll admit, happens more than I'd like. They've never once made me feel like a bother. That consistency says a lot about their culture.
BambooHR remains a breath of fresh air in a sea of complicated HR.

Dislike' still feels like too strong a word. There's nothing about BambooHR that I truly dislike.

A couple of small frustrations remain—the setup process for signature documents and some text fields within the job posting feature could be more intuitive. But these are minor quirks, not deal-breakers, and I've learned to work with them. I'm also confident they'll improve over time given how responsive BambooHR is to feedback.

Since my last review, we did downgrade from the Pro Plan to the Core Plan. We weren't using Employee Community, we moved away from annual performance reviews, and it just didn't make sense to keep paying for features that weren't getting used. Honestly? The downgrade was the right call and BambooHR made it painless.

Core covers everything we actually need, and I'd rather be on a plan where I'm genuinely using what I'm paying for. If anything, I'd still love to see more à la carte flexibility in their pricing structure someday but that's a wish, not a complaint.

Great that Google login is integrated this allows us to not have endless accounts for each platform. One of the features I appreciate most is the ability to see the entire company’s time-off requests and special events in one place. 
It provides great visibility and helps with planning, ensuring there are no surprises with scheduling.
The PTO calculator is another standout feature. 
It’s incredibly helpful to project future time-off requests while factoring in time that’s already scheduled and what will be accrued. 
Being able to clearly see those calculations makes planning much more accurate and stress-free.

Bamboo is really useful for me as an employee because it lets me manage my HR topics easily—holidays, salary, and working hours. I also like that everything is collected in one place, so I don’t have to search across different tools or pages.

Well, I think it’s a powerful tool, but I also feel there are a lot of things to improve :sweat_smile: The most annoying part for me is the interface.

-> The home page, it is a brilliant idea, but it needs to be more customizable. What I would expect for this page would be: allow me to organize all the widgets (right now I have some sections I cannot edit), redefine its size, and choose between different models (ex: a small widget will only display a link/info, a regular one will display more info + a link and the larger one will allow me to do an action)
-> The navigation system is horrible, sometimes you expend too much time trying to find the section you're searching for, I think this could be improve, adding sub-sections in the navigation bar of the left and re-organizing the sections. Moving some sections out could be a good idea too (example: benefics as a global category that includes benefits + salary;  Documents category that could include: personal docs + company docs, etc)
-> The working hours page, OMG, I HATE that page, nobody I talked with uses the clock in/out button, because it won't create a good slot, nobody starts at x:00 and ends at x:00, the most of the time you will start at x:58 or maybe  x:03 and it looks awful in the final chart, so, there is only one way, adding the hours manually or the torment 
commonly called. What I would expect from a good UX? Allowing my to apply easily a pre-configured timerule. Exam: I work from Mon to Thru from 8 to 13:30 and from 14:30 to 17. I want to save this configuration and every week click on some button to apply it. If that's not possible, by day. If that's not possible, at least, I want two rows by default (I think the most of the people that uses this tool have some break in the middle of the day) and when I switch from AM/PM, I expect the second row to apply this change automatically. But, for me, the best option are the templates :pray:
-> Info that is redundant and take too much space. I will re-work how data is displayed, the header tooks to much space (company info, seach bar, my photo, etc) This info is not important for me, I need to make a more efficient screen at glance, I don't want to do so much scroll to find the section I am looking for.

I think that's all, I am sorry if something is difficult to understands, English is not my first-language, I hope that ideas would be fine to improve the app. I like the core of the tool. I would attach images if possible, so, it would be nice for this form to allow adding some screenshots to illustrate the ideas.

I like BambooHR for its clean, user-friendly setup. The PTO calculator is my personal favorite; it helps me know what kind of PTO I'll have based on accrual and time already scheduled, allowing me to plan my time off well in advance. I also appreciate how it serves as our punch system and provides access to the business calendar to see when others are out of office. It’s very helpful for scheduling PTO and provides links to business sites. These features really help with clocking in and out, as well as connecting with my coworkers.

I personally have a small glitch where if I clock out but then don't hit the 'log out' button, my punch out doesn't record, and I come into crazy amounts of time 'clocked in'. It's not hugely impactful to my day, but I do have to have my manager go in and fix my clock-out time to match when I actually clocked out.

The other feature I love, is the 'Who's out' section. I can easily check before scheduling a call or delegating work to someone whether they are actually available to do so. Simple but hugely important feature.

The only thing I can think of is the birthday section. 
It's optional within the system so this isn't really a knock on Bamboo, but our company forces us to set the birthday and I don't like being wished a happy birthday

First, I’m really impressed with its clean, clutter-free dashboard; it lets me jump straight into my work without wasting time navigating confusing layouts. The customizable employee database is a huge highlight, allowing me to add custom fields that match our German company’s HR needs, and everything is neatly categorized and searchable. The automated time off approval flow is one of my most-used favorite parts, as it totally cuts out email chains and manual follow-ups. The built-in onboarding task manager stands out a lot; it makes bringing new staff onboard structured and consistent. Another thing I really value is the employee self-service functionality, which empowers employees to handle their own basic HR needs and drastically cuts down on trivial HR inquiries, freeing up my time for more important work.

First, the reporting features feel a bit basic and limited. We can pull simple employee and time-off reports, but there aren’t many customizable templates for deeper HR analytics. I like that BambooHR was very streamlined and straightforward. There was a clear line of guidance at the top, which was very helpful in guiding through the process. I appreciate how a lot of documents can be easily loaded into the portal, and I can deeply relook at them in an inline experience. Although there were mandatory fields that took a little longer, the entire information was captured seamlessly. Overall, I feel like the experience was good.

There was a situation where after signing, the system didn't close and whatever I did, it wouldn't close until I refreshed the screen. It was kind of a hassle.
