What do you like best about BambooHR?

A few things have changed since my original review worth noting. We actually downgraded from the Pro Package to the Core Plan; not because of any dissatisfaction, but because we stopped using annual performance reviews and weren't utilizing Employee Community, so it simply didn't make sense to pay for features we weren't using. BambooHR made that transition easy with no drama.

What I want to add is this: the longer I use BambooHR, the more convinced I am that it's the right platform. The ATS continues to be one of my favorite features—I genuinely love it. Onboarding, offboarding, time off reporting, centralized employee data... it all runs smoothly and consistently, which matters enormously when you're a department of one supporting a fully remote team.

I also want to double down on something I said before about customer service. Every single interaction I've had has been with someone kind, genuine, and helpful. Even when the issue turned out to be my own user error which, I'll admit, happens more than I'd like. They've never once made me feel like a bother. That consistency says a lot about their culture.

What do you dislike about BambooHR?

Dislike' still feels like too strong a word. There's nothing about BambooHR that I truly dislike.

A couple of small frustrations remain—the setup process for signature documents and some text fields within the job posting feature could be more intuitive. But these are minor quirks, not deal-breakers, and I've learned to work with them. I'm also confident they'll improve over time given how responsive BambooHR is to feedback.

Since my last review, we did downgrade from the Pro Plan to the Core Plan. We weren't using Employee Community, we moved away from annual performance reviews, and it just didn't make sense to keep paying for features that weren't getting used. Honestly? The downgrade was the right call and BambooHR made it painless.

Core covers everything we actually need, and I'd rather be on a plan where I'm genuinely using what I'm paying for. If anything, I'd still love to see more à la carte flexibility in their pricing structure someday but that's a wish, not a complaint. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Additionally, certain functionalities—such as payroll or advanced integrations—may require additional modules or third-party tools, which can increase overall costs. What do you like best about BambooHR?

The interface is clean and pretty intuitive once you get the hang of it. Employee records, time off tracking, and onboarding workflows are all in one place which makes things way easier to manage. The self-service portal for employees is also a big plus -- saves a lot of back and forth with HR. Overall the UX is solid and the reporting features are decent, we use it mainly for tracking headcount and time-off balances and it does that really well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BambooHR?

The pricing can be a bit steep especially for smaller teams, and some of the more advanced features are locked behind higher tier plans. The payroll module feels a bit disconnected from the rest of the platform and took some time to setup properly. Also the mobile app is functional but its not quite as polished as the desktop version -- some things just dont translate that well on smaller screens. What do you like best about BambooHR?

The user interface is intuitive, and it’s easy to navigate. The Employee Self-Service portal is a game-changer because it empowers employees to manage their own information and submit time-off requests, which significantly reduces the administrative burden on my end. What do you like best about BambooHR?

How easy it is to apply for vacation, sickness, of child sickness. I really like how easy the review system is it's not complicated and straight to the point. Great that Google login is integrated this allows us to not have endless accounts for each platform. I do not use it frequently but I see that as a pro that I don't have to go constantly to fix things up. It's also amazing how easy it is to integrate it with calendar apps. What do you dislike about BambooHR?

I think having a description like a hover description over possible leaves etc would be a game changer. As a new person starting it can be overwhelming seeing a lot of different leaves so it would be great to be able to hover or press and see when to apply for what Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about BambooHR?

I’ve really enjoyed using BambooHR. Not all HR software is user-friendly.

The platform is very user-friendly and makes it easy to stay organized and informed.

One of the features I appreciate most is the ability to see the entire company’s time-off requests and special events in one place.

It provides great visibility and helps with planning, ensuring there are no surprises with scheduling.

The PTO calculator is another standout feature.

It’s incredibly helpful to project future time-off requests while factoring in time that’s already scheduled and what will be accrued.

Being able to clearly see those calculations makes planning much more accurate and stress-free.

What do you dislike about BambooHR?

It can be difficult to find the tax documents section — every year I find myself struggling to remember where it’s located. The security process requiring a code to approve devices every 30 days can also feel repetitive and inconvenient. What do you like best about BambooHR?

I like that it’s an easy place for me to see who has upcoming time off across the company. I can also submit my own time off, approve requests, and view upcoming anniversaries and birthdays without having to use multiple apps. What do you dislike about BambooHR?

I don’t like that you can’t submit time off for vacation in hours and that it has to be entered in days—you can only select hours for sick time. I end up having to Google what the equivalent of 2 hours is in days, and then it just ends up looking weird. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about BambooHR?

Bamboo is really useful for me as an employee because it lets me manage my HR topics easily—holidays, salary, and working hours. I also like that everything is collected in one place, so I don’t have to search across different tools or pages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BambooHR?

Well, I think it’s a powerful tool, but I also feel there are a lot of things to improve :sweat_smile: The most annoying part for me is the interface.

-> The home page, it is a brilliant idea, but it needs to be more customizable. What I would expect for this page would be: allow me to organize all the widgets (right now I have some sections I cannot edit), redefine its size, and choose between different models (ex: a small widget will only display a link/info, a regular one will display more info + a link and the larger one will allow me to do an action)

-> The navigation system is horrible, sometimes you expend too much time trying to find the section you're searching for, I think this could be improve, adding sub-sections in the navigation bar of the left and re-organizing the sections. Moving some sections out could be a good idea too (example: benefics as a global category that includes benefits + salary; Documents category that could include: personal docs + company docs, etc)

-> The working hours page, OMG, I HATE that page, nobody I talked with uses the clock in/out button, because it won't create a good slot, nobody starts at x:00 and ends at x:00, the most of the time you will start at x:58 or maybe x:03 and it looks awful in the final chart, so, there is only one way, adding the hours manually or the torment

commonly called. What I would expect from a good UX? Allowing my to apply easily a pre-configured timerule. Exam: I work from Mon to Thru from 8 to 13:30 and from 14:30 to 17. I want to save this configuration and every week click on some button to apply it. If that's not possible, by day. If that's not possible, at least, I want two rows by default (I think the most of the people that uses this tool have some break in the middle of the day) and when I switch from AM/PM, I expect the second row to apply this change automatically. But, for me, the best option are the templates :pray:

-> Info that is redundant and take too much space. I will re-work how data is displayed, the header tooks to much space (company info, seach bar, my photo, etc) This info is not important for me, I need to make a more efficient screen at glance, I don't want to do so much scroll to find the section I am looking for.

I think that's all, I am sorry if something is difficult to understands, English is not my first-language, I hope that ideas would be fine to improve the app. I like the core of the tool. What do you like best about BambooHR?

I really like how intuitive and user-friendly BambooHR is. It makes managing employee information, leave requests, and performance reviews so much easier. I appreciate that everything is centralized—employee data, documents, and reports are all in one place, which saves a lot of time. The self-service features are great, letting employees handle many tasks themselves, and the onboarding and hiring tools really simplify bringing new people on board. What do you like best about BambooHR?

The thing I like most about BambooHR is how user-friendly it is. It’s really easy to log in and submit requests, upload forms, and complete surveys without any hassle. I also appreciate that it offers a variety of uses all in one platform, so I don’t have to jump between different tools. Nothing feels hidden, and what I need is usually straightforward to find. I’d say I log in almost every day to check out the features and review my benefits. The PTO request feature is especially nice, and the PTO calculator makes it even better. What do you dislike about BambooHR?

Honestly, the main thing I’d like to see improved is the AI assistant. I understand it’s currently in beta, so it’s still being refined and worked on.
