IoT Hub gives our development teams power, flexibility, and versatility for our industrial remote monitoring web applications. This particular Cloud Resource in the Azure family of services is a central piece of the foundation of our application architecture. IoT Hub gives us abilities that our team has dreamed about for many years before Microsoft released this particular cloud resource. Data harmonization is key to the success of any data-intensive web application. The needs become even more pronounced when consuming huge volumes of time-series sensor data values from 100s of industrial assets. IoT Hub allows us to handle this type of data from diverse sources, machines, edge devices, and customers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
IoT Hub is an Azure Cloud Resource that needs to be integrated with your existing web application architecture. It's powerful but requires some careful planning to realize some of the benefits described above. There's honestly not anything significant on the "dislike" list. Just overcoming a learning curve. Documentation is a little bit light but...that's in the context of Microsoft. E.g. anything from Microsoft, while MS's documentation may itself be light, the community of enterprise professionals consuming and flexing the muscles of these tools is strong. Anything you can't find in MS documentation is probably described in a blog post or StockOverflow article or Reddit thread! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Connectivity between the devices and to provisiojn it is quite easy , services like iotedge is also working in very optimise level. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
A bit lag between for the device status and its actual status display you need to check the device twin for the status. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
With its simple interface to manage all IoT devices at the cloud, we can upgrade, monitor and listen to devices remotely Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes remote devices will have issues in starting due to multiple issues but were able to solve with Azzure support by generating the required log bundles Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
IOT being very popular right now and Azure with it's IOT Hub service let's us use our application with integration with IOT devices all over the world. The best part about it is the single stop solution for all of our IOT needs and the least amount of administration to manage it along with our application. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Cost is a little steep as compared to its competitors. Also the learning curve is a little steep and documentation doesn't help that much until proper support is provided. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The reason I would blindly go with Azure IOT Hub as a go to tool when create an IOT Infra is because of it's excellent design as well as excellent documentation which quickly helps me setup things to my needs. Another major reason is the support community that is present online that can quickly help you solve any problem that you may face as you build and integrate cool stuff. The only demerit I would say to it is it's slow cycle in which it brings new features compared to other Cloud IOT vendors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Azure Platform is user friendly platform where work can be done in easy way, Azure IOT Hub provides flexibility to add the IoT devices based on our business needs, Data handling is more fast and secure Through Azure IoT Hub Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The main disadvantage of the IoT Hub is device addition is limited in Azure IoT Hub and for adding more devices organization has to invest more money to avail the services Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best thing about IoT hub is it's edge compatibility with the servers. And the way it runs and orchestrates it's iot edge modules using docker, which I found more easy to access than greenhouse's lambda. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The security of device and the documentation regarding onboarding a whole IoT devices fleet is very less available. It can also try to provide support for arm devices in IoT edge. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
After initially using it, the walkthroughs. Although I've just used it for a school assignment for my final design, it was incredibly useful. Additionally, it is a tremendous benefit to view everything in one area. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is a rather expensive service. A lesser price has to be charged. Additionally, the existing training materials are difficult to grasp and exceedingly complicated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We can easily store all the data while communicating with multiple devices at once. Devices can send the data and we can send back the commands in an easier manner without much hassle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
If this software/tool can be integrated with the other tools then it would make much more sense as alone this tool is a little technical to use because the data being sent or received is not so simple to analyse. Machine learning tools are required at later stages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The walkthroughs when first using it. Also the ability to see all things in one centealized location is a huge bonus. Ive only used it for a senior design project for school but it was very functional Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I domt have any dislikes of it. As i said in the previous paragraph i only used it for a senior design project when i was in college. I havent used it every day for work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Security which is best on sas token before any device connected to iot hub needs dps registration which makes communication more secure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We don't have that much provisions on iot hub to convert any kind of data into specific format for example such binary to decimal conversion. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
