The setup process is straightforward, and the product offers flexible usage options. I have experienced rapid response times and consistent performance across different features, including private endpoints, storage, FSLogix, and on-premises integration. Reliability has also been excellent.

**What do you dislike about Azure DNS?**

The cost of accessing all the features is too high for smaller organizations.

**What problems is Azure DNS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

integration with on-prem DNS structure and name resolution is simple

  ### 2. Effortless Domain Management and Seamless Azure Integration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Azure DNS?**

It's so simple and reliable to manage domains directly within the Azure ecosystem. Integration with other Azure services simplifies setup, and I don't have to worry about downtime or complex configurations. It's also quite fast in its deployment and greatly simplifies Azure PaaS resources.

**What do you dislike about Azure DNS?**

The interface can be somewhat limited compared to other DNS management tools, especially when managing advanced configurations.

**What problems is Azure DNS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Azure DNS helps me overcome the challenge of managing domain names securely and scalably without relying on third-party providers. Being fully integrated with Azure reduces complexity and ensures high availability for my applications. Automation through templates and APIs streamlines and optimizes deployments.

  ### 3. Azure DNS: Good, but a Bit Complicated

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ekansh S. | System Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Azure DNS?**

I've been using Azure DNS, which is like a toolbox for managing website addresses. Here's what I like best about Azure DNS:

Doesn't Break: Azure DNS is pretty reliable. It keeps my website working, and I rarely see it go offline. That's a big plus.

Plays Well with Others: If you're already using Microsoft's Azure cloud stuff, it fits right in. You can manage your website address alongside your other online things, which is handy.

Works Everywhere: It doesn't matter where your website visitors are from; Azure DNS helps them access your site quickly. That's important for a good website experience.

Grows with You: No matter if your website is small or huge, Azure DNS can handle it. You can add more stuff to your website without trouble.

**What do you dislike about Azure DNS?**

Costs Can Be Confusing: Azure's pricing can be a bit tricky to figure out, especially if you're new to it. Keep an eye on your costs to avoid surprises.

Takes a Bit to Learn: If you're new to Azure DNS, it might take a while to understand how it works. The interface and terms can be a bit confusing at first.

Help Might Be Slow: If you need help, sometimes it can take a while to get it. That can be frustrating if your website is super important.

Not for Fancy Stuff: If you want to do really fancy things with your website, Azure DNS might not have all the tools you need. It's better for basic stuff.

In short, Azure DNS keeps your website running well, especially if you're already using Microsoft's other online tools. It's reliable, works globally, and can grow with your website. But watch your costs, be patient while learning, and make sure it has all the tools you need for your website project.

**What problems is Azure DNS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Azure DNS helps me with my website in some important ways:

Problem 1: People from Everywhere

Benefit: Azure DNS helps people from all over the world access my website easily. It's like having a welcoming door that's open to everyone, no matter where they are.

Problem 2: Not Too Complicated

Benefit: Managing my website used to be confusing, but Azure DNS makes it simpler. It's like having all my website tools in one place, so I don't have to run around.

Problem 3: Growing My Website

Benefit: If my website gets bigger, Azure DNS can handle it. I can add more stuff to my website without it getting slow or messy.

Problem 4: Working with Other Tools

Benefit: If I use other Microsoft tools, Azure DNS fits right in. It's like all my online stuff is on the same shelf, making it easier to use.

  ### 4. ease to use and configure

**Reviewed by:** Nitin V. | Associate Staff Engineer - DevOps, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Azure DNS?**

simplicity and transparent cost with private dns zone option also present

**What do you dislike about Azure DNS?**

for routing pupose one has to use azure traffic manager

**What problems is Azure DNS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

being actively used to store dns records like CNAME and A records of all the applications running on AKS kubernetes cluster

  ### 5. Microsoft Azure DNS: An incredible DNS management solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ANSHUMAN BHUSHAN S. | Network Security Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Azure DNS?**

Azure DNS is the best solution, as it helps in DNS management and Domain Purchasing, so we do not need to rely on other vendors to get different vendors for getting various services related to DNS. Since the same vendors provide both services, there is no chance of incompatibility. The interface is very user-friendly, and functionalities and features are visible and easy to navigate. Registering a domain name is easy if we consider the case for Azure. Everything is processed quickly, and we can go live in a few hours if we urgently need to deploy the domain. The solution is available 24*7 is very reliable, as mentioned in the SLA.
Moreover, we did not face any downtime regarding the azure services, nor the user suffers any loss. The significant advantage is that it supports all record types, including Type A and many more. Mazor azure integration is possible, like integration with Azure AD and other products of Azure, so it is beneficial for the organization.

**What do you dislike about Azure DNS?**

Filter and Search parameters need to be improved in Azure DNS. The primary control part never resides with the organization, and Microsoft Azure OEM manages it. This is a significant problem because sometimes we need major changes related to any new solution, and contacting them for help is a big task. The Technical support team takes time to resolve the issue. They must resolve the if the ticket is raised at the earliest because DNS is an essential feature for an organization. The solution is very costly as we can get many vendors with the same features on a low budget. Security facilities need to be improved as the protection method is limited, and the old encryption method is still used.

**What problems is Azure DNS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our organization is using Azure DNS to host the DNS Domain in Azure to manage the DNS record. The best part about Azure DNS is that it is available for both public and Private. We can handle all the records related to DNS. Moreover, Microsoft is a very reliable brand in the market and does not need any introduction as it is used by major enterprises. So the solution delivers what it promises. The scaling capability of the product is excellent, and the performance is incredible. We never faced downtime for the organization and never loosed the website's availability, so the solution complies with the SLA agreement. Apart from this, it has built-in protection and security features and helps remove redundancy and duplicate DNS entries.

  ### 6. Azure DNS - A DNS which helps for public as well as Private DNS Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Piyush K. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Azure DNS?**

You could have control over the DNS records. It is available for public as well as private DNS. You can manage all the records here. It's a PaaS service; you don't need to deploy a VM here.

**What do you dislike about Azure DNS?**

Azure DNS is managed service. Azure has not given all the control to us. On many occasions, you need this. This is the only disadvantage you have with Azure DNS.

**What problems is Azure DNS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Now in Azure, if you want to use the domain and, at the same time, want to use the branded environment. Azure DNS is helping you to map Branded fields. At the same time, you have a private DNS option where you can restrict network access.

  ### 7. Microsoft Azure DNS is reliable service for managing the DNS

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** naresh b. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 15, 2020

**What do you like best about Azure DNS?**

The good thing is, both domain purchasing and DNS management on the registered domain can be done from a single portal,

as this is a great brand name , it promises the reliability and quality part,

This helps the Azure based companies to manage all there cloud services under a one billing space

it supports everything that is needed in the domain management space and it supports all major record types as ipv4 A-record c-name etc ..

the user interface is simple and straight forward, with search etc ..

it also has a advance management portal which comes in a little cost i believe ,

**What do you dislike about Azure DNS?**

the record set search can improve , like we try to enter IP or C-name , the auto suggestion can show-up, others are really good and i think if you need just a DNS management tool then you can try different cheeper service providers, in this case Azure might be little costlier for the small business

**Recommendations to others considering Azure DNS:**

Azure DNS has been a great tool for the DNS domain registration and Management of the routs, its reliable , so definitely can go for it

**What problems is Azure DNS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DNS management surly requires a service provider and a helping management tool, so that we can focuses more on different things that we are intended to do, so this really helps us in moving towards our goals , Azure dose a grate job in giving us what is required

  ### 8. Good if you're looking for single pane of glass for your web applications and cloud services

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Patrick P. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2020

**What do you like best about Azure DNS?**

Fast!
A big step up from registrar's DNS management.
Familiar Azure management portal, love it or hate it.
Managing everything about your web/cloud environment from a single pane of glass is killer.

**What do you dislike about Azure DNS?**

Difficult to justify cost, even if it isn't expensive.
The downside of the single pane of glass pro, is if there is an outage, you've put all your eggs in one basket.

**Recommendations to others considering Azure DNS:**

If you want single pane of glass management and otherwise will be paying for DNS, it's worth it. If you just need simple DNS services, stick with your registrar's included DNS management.

**What problems is Azure DNS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greatly simplified/integrated management of web/cloud workloads.

  ### 9. Makes hosting domains easier but at an additional cost

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Muhammad Fahad B. | Research Intern, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2019

**What do you like best about Azure DNS?**

Azure Portal itself is exquisitely developed and makes managing all resources a child's play. Azure DNS is no exception. You purchase a domain and get to manage all CNAME, A records from within the portal which is great. No additional external management required. It does what it's intended to do straightforwardly. It's great for those who want to bring everything under the Azure hood.

**What do you dislike about Azure DNS?**

The Advanced Management Portal (similar to GoDaddy) that's external to the Azure Portal comes by default with all domains and allows you to achieve pretty much all those tasks. Granted the nameservers aren't managed by Azure at all (the only drawback). However, Azure DNS comes at an extra cost and if you're looking to save money, it's not a feasible option for your business or project.

**What problems is Azure DNS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Domain management can be quite cumbersome and Azure DNS allows you to manage it through the same portal you've admired and become accustomed to. There's frankly no business problem related to it.
The benefits are not tremendous but the added advantage is that it brings domain management under Azure servers so reliability is guaranteed.

  ### 10. Great interface. Easy to use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Princess J. | webmaster, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2019

**What do you like best about Azure DNS?**

1) The user interface is very easy to use.
2) It detects the change of ISP really fast.
3) The registration change is very fast, usually within 15 seconds.
4) Excellent operating time and performance, allowing a constant and fast resolution.

**What do you dislike about Azure DNS?**

It can not be detected with an ISP that is having problems with the packets, so the company thinks it should fail and shouts at us, but in reality the ISP has not failed, so it could not be returned. It would be nice if you had a way to set the percentage of packet loss before changing.

**Recommendations to others considering Azure DNS:**

It is ideal for high performance or for geo-balanced DNS needs for a business product.

**What problems is Azure DNS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Azure as the DNS server for my domains. It provides us with fast DNS and also masks the IP address of our domain, which makes it less likely to have DDoS attacks.

  ### 11. Very good tool to manage all the DNS across the organization..!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thomas K. | I am a security Advisor at my organization, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2019

**What do you like best about Azure DNS?**

The good thing is the Maintenance of the DNS records will be done only in a single shot where we can manage the inventory of all the DNS we use in the organization and once the decommission needs to be done then we will be removing it from the Azure DNS by logging in to it.

**What do you dislike about Azure DNS?**

Currently we are migrating from the IBM provided tool I do not want to name it here so as per the instructions from the vendor this Azure is very perfect for the environment we are working. Also, I will take time for this part to comment

**Recommendations to others considering Azure DNS:**

I would like to recommend this product for others who want to manage all the DNS in cloud.

Helps to manage a large number of domain names while keeping the interface easy and simple.

  ### 13. Simplified domain hosting, worth the extra cost

But the DNSSEC is not yet implemented
Azure DNS not extended to support zone transfers so it can be used as seconday DNS
And etc.

**What problems is Azure DNS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use also role access control to control who has access to specific actions of my company. I like this feature.
