Axure does most of what the current breed popular wireframe tools do (Sketch, etc.), and more. Axure comes with a very powerful action / prototyping engine that allows you to string together animations and other hard-to-describe interactions that are difficult to show or describe in other ways.
Axure also has a very strong templating / "objects" aspect where you can easily drop objects within objects, and editing the template of the object affects every instance of that object. This makes Axure useful for creating modular designs and wireframe languages for a suite of features across your app.
Lastly, Axure is great in sharing products to customers, as you can upload your work to a private, passworded link (for free, no less) to be shared with clients. This is invaluable for delivering work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Axure does have a few downsides, mostly in regards to visual design. It doesn't look like a piece of software designed for "designers" as your work doesn't appear as beautiful as the work that comes out of something like Sketch.
Axure also hasn't built up such a feverish user base compared to Sketch, and doesn't seem to support plugins that Sketch has. With that said, Sketch is what you make out of it, you can definitely put in the time to improve your presentation, and with the prototyping functionality you can even built a "meta prototype" by adding interactive functionality to guide your users through your design.
Axure is also buggy, especially for Macs. Sometimes it can become a resource hog as a few memory bugs seems to increase memory use over time. Some designer features like snapping-to-grid can also work unexpectedly, sometimes making for a difficult time designing things.
All in all the pros outweigh the cons in this extremely powerful prototype and wireframe package. I would probably recommend Axure over Sketch for most companies and applications I've previously encountered. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love how I can create visual content for anything with a user interface quickly with Axure. I love how easily I can share those visualizations with team members, whether internal or external. There's not much to dislike. I suppose there are other tools like iRise that offer more of a development-like tool to create more complex mockups, but I've found that the simpler you can make your visualizations, the easier they are to be adopted.
