AWS S3 Objects to Alation Pros and Cons

AWS Simple Storage Service is a highly scalable and secure object storage service offered by Amazon Web Services. Alation is the platform that helps organisation to manage their metadata. Intial Integration part can be challenging, we will be required specific configuration and setup for that which can be challenging. Also we will have to depend on 3rd party tools and softwares. Integrating AWS S3 Objects with Alation proved to be a valuable addition to our data ecosystem. One of the challenges I faced was the lack of real-time data synchronization between AWS S3 Objects and Alation. Although Alation performed an initial scan and cataloged the metadata of the objects in the S3 bucket, it did not automatically update the catalog when new files were added or existing files were modified within the bucket. The thing I dislike about AWS S3 is that it does not have any option for searching or quering data stored in S3.

it is slightly expensive 20k USD for a complete year is a bit on the higher end, also it requires some decent amount of AWS knowledge before using it. if it is a very large amount of data then speed is also effected slightly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
