What do you like best about AWS Glue?

AWS Glue integrates very well with AWS services which are now widely being used by almost every company, since it's AWS original tool,it easily integrates with all others like S3 and redshift. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AWS Glue?

AWS Glue is not user friendly, the transformation components that we have are not useful in different scenarios and we need to use custom transformation for everything, including even very basic operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about AWS Glue?

I love how simple data management and organization are with it. AWS Glue saves a ton of time by automating most of the data integration and preparation process. Even for novices the visual interface is easy to use, and because it's serverless, I don't have to worry about infrastructure. The user interface is simple to use and navigate, making tasks straightforward. I utilize AWS Glue frequently, and it continuously satisfies my needs for data management. The implementation was easy and it's easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AWS Glue?

At first, especially if you are unfamiliar with cloud services, it might be a little difficult to understand the pricing. Monitoring usage is essential to preventing unforeseen expenses. Furthermore, even though the graphical user interface is excellent, more customization choices might be available for sophisticated users who want to optimize their data workflows. What do you like best about AWS Glue?

Glue is serverless and I need to pay for what I use. Most importantly glue automatically generates script for my ETL job.

Extraction of data from data source , transformation and loading to data target has become ease with glue.

I have used crawlers in glue to determine schema automatically from the s3 bucket which is my data source and writes meta data to database in data catalog .

Using visual ETL I have transformed the schema from data catalog and pushed to target with ease in seconds.

While creating ETL job we can select source and target and transform the data using many options provided to make the data clean and noise free.

It can dynamically scale resources up and down based on work load. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AWS Glue?

Glue was only limited to Python and Scala. One must have little knowledge on any of these languages to understand the ETL job script.

I only found this a down side of Glue as I am beginner to Glue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about AWS Glue?

AWS Glue is a pretty cool tool for handling data integration and ETL tasks. It’s like having a handy assistant that takes care of all the technical stuff, so you don’t have to worry about managing the behind-the-scenes infrastructure. It even keeps your data organized with its Data Catalog, which is like a digital filing cabinet for your data.

One of the neat things about Glue is that it can automatically write some of the code for you. That means you don’t have to be a coding wizard to make it work. Plus, it’s really flexible and can handle different workloads without breaking the bank because it scales up or down as needed.

So, if you want to make your data tasks easier and more efficient, AWS Glue is definitely worth checking out! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AWS Glue?

Now, while AWS Glue is pretty handy, it’s not without its quirks. One thing to keep in mind is the cost. If you are not careful, it can sneak up on you, especially if you are dealing with a ton of data. So,budgeting and monitoring your usage are crucial.

Also, working with really complex data transformations, Glue usually underperforms ending up investing efforts in some optimization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
