We used it for one of our sites where we had intermittently heavy traffic and the server would keep going down intermittently despite DB upgrades etc - we moved from AWS lightsail to EC2 to do this - and the results were great! Auto scaling automatically takes care of increasing and then decreasing (important to keep costs reasonable) resources as necessary based upon site hits - or whatever formula you set (depending upon what AWS resource you are referring to).
