What do you like best about AwardSpring?

I received a response quickly enough to present this at my upcoming meeting. It is helpful for people to see exactly what they will see. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AwardSpring?

I don't like that I have to search my scholarships every time I want to amend them. If I am logged in, I want only the scholarships I use to pull up, not all of the university's scholarships. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Daniel Orofino of AwardSpring

Thanks so much for your feedback!

We might recommend talking with your team/main administrator the 'Department' feature in AwardSpring. This functionality allows you to be placed into a department and associate specific scholarships with that department. When you log in, you'll then only see those specific scholarships in your scholarships list.

If you have more questions about the feature you can email support@awardspring.com so we can take a look at how your specific site is configured and provide some additional details on the feature.

Thanks again for taking the time to review AwardSpring, we really appreciate it!

"Awardspring is a great program that allows us to organize all of our data in one location."
5/5
What do you like best about AwardSpring?

I like how simple it is and easy to put together is, it is very simple to add different qualifications and requirements. The program allows our organization to compile all of the data that we need to work with and to incorporate scholarship opportunities to our students that we serve by showing all of the opportunities that they have in one location. Our goal was to reduce a lot of redundancy that the students have to answer when applying for scholarships, including really basic questions that we were hoping to eliminate and streamline the process. With the help of Awardspring, we were able to pull many different varieties of reports and work with their organization to eliminate all of the redundancies, leaving us with a product that we are more than happy to put our name with and to continue to work with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AwardSpring?

We have noticed that when we have to run large reports filled with many users and amounts of data, that the system seems to run a little slower. This is to be expected as well, as we often times run close to 10,000 users at a time, which can boggle the system a little. These slow-downs are not detrimental, just more of a slight inconvenience if there are big deadlines that we have to meet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"My experience with AwardSpring at Utah Stat University"

What do you like best about AwardSpring?

The most important thing about AwardSring is that it allows all scholarships university-wide to be accessed on one platform. This allows all students more equal access to all scholarships. The platform is powerful and the ability to do push awards within the same platform is a big advantage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AwardSpring?

I wish we could do more refined reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kurt Reilly of AwardSpring

Thanks for the kind words Kelly! We've been partners with Utah State for years and have gotten tremendous product feedback and ideas from your collection of administrators, reviewers and students over the years.

We agree that our reporting engine should give a little more power to our end users. With reports as-is, you have the ability to request new reports to be added to your platform (at no cost) based on your needs, and you can always do whatever data filtering/sorting you desire in the downloaded report (CSV/XLSX). Our plan is to give even more control to users so you can build reports you desire on the fly, so stay tuned for more on that feature. Feel free to join the conversation about the future of that feature (and others) on our user forum below.

"Awesome platform for scholarship application management!"

What do you like best about AwardSpring?

I really like the ability to tailor each scholarship application for each open scholarship cycle. This platform allows the user to manipulate the scholarship application, questions and answers to better target eligible and qualified applicants. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AwardSpring?

I would like to have the ability to have two open scholarship cycles at the time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kurt Reilly of AwardSpring

Thank for the feedback, Carmen. And great news! We recently deployed a feature that allows you to have overlapping scholarship cycles, and we have another feature in development (targeting a Q2 release) that will allow for separate, stand-alone applications to run concurrently. Please reach out to our support team (by clicking the "support" button in the bottom-right of your AwardSpring portal or by emailing support@awardspring.com) to learn more. You can also sign up for one of our upcoming webinars that instructs our users how to take advantage of these new features (you should get an email every few weeks with the schedule of webinars to choose from).

"Streamlined and supportive scholarship program"
4.5/5
What do you like best about AwardSpring?

The two best features of AwardSpring are the ease of use and the incredible customer support. AwardSpring makes the process easier for everyone involved: administrators, reviewers, and students. The ability for administrators to impersonate students is especially helpful to see a student's progress on an application, see things from their perspective to address questions, or to make minor corrections.

The ability to track the reviewers' progress in scoring applications and to view their scores during and after the review process is also a great feature. The reviewers really appreciate the ease with which they can review applications and the fact that they can do so across devices. Assigning reviewers and "blinding" sensitive information is also easy to do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AwardSpring?

There are very few things that I would say I dislike about AwardSpring, there are just a few minor technical kinks, which I hope will be resolved in the future.

The largest one has to do with the fact that our scholarship program is a renewable scholarship and there is confusion between the messaging on AwardSpring, since currently new applicants and renewing students see the majority of the same content. Renewing students either think they need to complete the full application again (not the case), if they are submitting their renewal documents at the same time the application is open for new applicants. Or, if the application period has closed, they get confused and think that they submitted their renewal information too late due to seeing the message that the application period has closed. Unfortunately, given the semester schedule, there is not a way for us to avoid the two periods overlapping.

I also wish there were a way to still e-mail all of the applicants even after their awards have been assigned, however once an award is assigned, the item is "closed" and there is no way to e-mail "closed" recipients.

For our purposes, we would prefer that the recently developed budget tool would have all of the students' answers available to reviewers instead of just showing them an overall need number. For that reason, we have not elected to use the budget tool (although we want to and it would be easier for students to complete) because our reviewers need to see the complete information from the students -- which they using the way our application budget section is currently formatted. I hope that in the future, there would be a way to choose to "blind" reviewers from seeing the full budget instead of the standard being that they cannot see it at all. "Excellent all-around service!"
5/5
What do you like best about AwardSpring?

Very easy to use! Really reduced my workload. Extremely helpful and friendly employees. If we hadn't been using Award Spring this semester, we would not have been able to award any scholarships due to the pandemic; it would have been impossible to collect applications in this environment. Any time I needed help, Award Spring's support team got back to me quickly and with an easy to understand answer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AwardSpring?

Users cannot have dual roles with the same login - we have a small department and people wear multiple hats. I used the global scorecard feature and it was not clear that I had to use global review as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
