Most common security topics are explained. Even if you are stuck, tips would most likely help you. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some tips are not helpful. Some topics are repeated too often, without any additional explaination. Some exercises lacks depth, solution is too easy. Links and materials are too basic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Up and running, off-the-shelf teaching material for our students that doesn't require nor IT infrastructure, neither material development from the university. The business model for universities is also awsome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The UI should be improved, according to my experience its competitors are better in that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Avatao is a hands-on learning platform that teaches developers with real-life scenarios how to avoid common security pitfalls in software development. I'm a big fan of learning by doing and I really like the exercises where I can touch real code, modify and compile them into working applications. The exercises are diverse enough that they cover multiple job roles so the service can be an integral part of a solid security program in engineering. (I'm a PHP developer for 20 years) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Avatao needs to be improved to give more background information, explanation and help to the users. Currently, there are a lot of exercises that are more like puzzles and require substantial mental investment to solve. I would prefer a bit more guidance to lead a rookie developer in security to grasp the basic concepts much faster. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
A fresh, intuitive platform packed with relevant, up-to-date content that helps your team build and maintain skills in IT Security. Available learning paths include a collection of interactive challenges hand picked for a given target audience, in terms of difficulty and coverage of topics. Content is frequently updated to reflect current techniques. I recommend to focus on maintaining technical vitality via gamified challenges that can be completed whenever one has spare time - staying up-to-date is crucial but often underestimated. The majority of the content is around AppSec - which is not a drawback, just something to be aware of when putting together a learning plan for your team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Avatao is a vast library of content that ranges from the security properties of various programming languages (Python, Java, C# or even C/C++) including stuff like how to set up AWS properly/securely, cryptography, web security etc.
To add on top, this content is not merely a pre-recorded video or a static slidedeck, rather it is the actual thing running on a virtual machine and giving me access to tinker with it, along with helpful tips on how to progress in the tutorial. This way I can play with the tools just like I would in real-life. In programming languages, you get a simple IDE and can run right there on the spot. You really have everything set up, you don't need to install anything on your computer and spend hours just to try out a new language/technology.
Instructions come via "avataobot", giving you one simple task at a time and the system validates that I did what I needed to do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes hotkeys collide in the terminal collide with those of the browser. Most notably, Ctrl-W is removing the last word in the command line (basically it is the "Cut" operation in readline), at the same time Ctrl-W is also closing the current browser tab. I tend to use Ctrl-W a lot, but not in Avatao :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Learning by doing is the best way to master anything. Avatao apply this strategy perfectly. The study material is well-structured, comprehensive and up-to-date. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is not much to dislike in the product. Sometimes the chat bot is a bit too eager to talk and you will need to scroll back. But that's about it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
