Product Description

Auvik makes network management easier. By automating and simplifying network management, Auvik’s cloud-based software improves the efficiency and capacity of IT teams and helps protect their business from network risk. Today, Auvik helps IT teams establish true visibility and efficiency across more than four million devices on over 55,000 networks worldwide.

How do you position yourself against your competitors?

Traditional network management systems aren’t designed to deploy quickly and aren’t easy to use or understand. Many systems require an IT pro to purchase expensive on-premises hardware and software for every location they manage and hire a full-time employee to learn, understand, and use the system. The existing systems aren’t designed with today’s networks in mind.

With Auvik, it’s completely different. Our cloud-based network management software can be deployed in minutes, and its simple, intuitive interface can be used by even the most junior technician on an IT team. It doesn’t require deep network knowledge to use and it’s designed to scale with a business.

What do you like best about Auvik?

I love that Auvik gives you a map of the network configuration which is very helpful in seeing where devices are located within the environment. This allows us to pinpoint hardware such as WAPs and switches when they report issues or go offline. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Auvik?

Creating rules for SNMP was a bit difficult as it was not linear in its setup. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I would recommend using AUvik for your network monitoring and alerting and using a different solution for server and workstations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Auvik?

My favorite part about Auvik is the network map - being able to trace an AP through connected switched all the way up to a core switch is very handy and it's much simpler than using CLI on a switch. However, if needed, it's nice to be able to open a compand prompt directly from within Auvik. Additionally, being able to receive offline alerts that link straight to the offline device saves a lot of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Auvik?

There's not much I dislike about Auvik - it does everything I need it to do and I know there's even more it's capable of. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Auvik:

Auvik is definitely worth a try for anyone managing/monitoring large networks, especially remotely. It simplifies and streamlines the management process without losing any of the fine controls or specific information that can be essential to resolving issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Auvik solving and how is that benefiting you?

We primarily use Auvik to monitor for offline alerts, which has been very useful and will even link to a ticket in ConnectWise that it opens for this issue. Being able to go straight to the alert from the ticket saves a lot of time and is very useful. We're also able to track issues on the network map which makes identifying common problems or problem areas much simpler. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Auvik?

If it's a big network, sometimes the picture isn't readable Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Auvik solving and how is that benefiting you?

Primary problem is keeping track of problematic switches. Specifically, we put this in place when a customer caused a loopback, plugging both ends of a network cable into the same switch. Auvik alerts us when this happens, and where it happened. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Auvik?

I like that Auvik makes it easy to get a layout of all networking devices at a client with relative ease. The topology map that gets generated has helped us on numerous occasions when trying to trace where a device is connected to. The fact that it can recognize so many different devices from many different vendors is impressive. I rarely have to worry if my networking devices will integrate with Auvik. I also love the remote access feature. I no longer have to create a VPN to get on a remote network device. I can easily manage it all from the Auvik website. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Auvik?

I think the biggest downside of Auvik is the inability to modify the topology map. Sometime the map is slightly off or there is a network element that is not picked up that I want to add to the map. There is no ability to modify or change the map or modify it in any way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Auvik:

What problems is Auvik solving and how is that benefiting you?

Auvik has helped us get better alerting for network elements in remote locations. We can get alerted right when something goes down, and with the network logs in Auvik we can see what could have caused it. The biggest thing that has helped us is loopback alerts. Auvik can detect a loopback and alert us of such an error. This helps us reduce down time for our clients as well as assisting us not need to go on-site to resolve the issue. What do you like best about Auvik?

Automatic storing of backup config data. They are allowing us also to lock down networking devices under a MFA-enforced platform to comply with insurance and regulation requirements and better control access for engineers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Auvik?

Little noisy on occasion when a device is mis-categorized. Simple fix, but can be a lot of emails until fixed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Auvik solving and how is that benefiting you?

MFA enforcement for access to network devices that don't natively support MFA. Much deeper monitoring of network devices vs our normal RMM solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Auvik?

The remote console and config backups are convenient; most products do not offer this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Auvik?

It does not support SNMP traps; hopefully one day, this will be implemented. Additionally, you can collect syslogs, however, can not yet convert them into generated tickets for helpdesks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Auvik solving and how is that benefiting you?

The simplicity of troubleshooting is a breeze once you have gone through the Auvik certification and understand the correct methods for troubleshooting. Finding root causes to issues are very useful with Auvik. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Auvik?

Auvik is also easy to deploy and easy to use, and it has integration with a lot of tools like that we use in our company like PSA, RMM, etc. It is highly user-friendly, it allows you to learn about its network rapidly. The configuration management system it provides is fantastic, and it can immediately show you how a modification has affected your environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Auvik?

Pages' load times might be relatively slow at times. For simplicity of use, the alerting section might benefit from more detailed walkthroughs. It could also have improved its UI a little more Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Auvik:

Auvik is a Network Management tool that makes our business much easier Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Auvik solving and how is that benefiting you?

Auvik has given us more access to our clients' networks and hardware devices. And It has given us a clear and transparent picture of our client's networks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Automatic, intelligent network scanning that easily displays the links between devices. Especially useful when monitoring other incidental network conencted devices such as printers and UPS Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Auvik?

The network mapping is sometimes challenging to read for more extensive networks. The number of supported devices can be limiting when trying to understand a complicated topology when those devices are critical to the topology. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Auvik solving and how is that benefiting you?

Faster time-to-resolution for network-related problems drives down support costs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
