it is very easy to use and a great way to manage and update a large number of devices, convenient for keeping your endpoints up to date, You can set up policies to push Windows updates and 3rd parties applications. Also, it allows you to view critical areas in his dashboard and recommend what action can be taken. Fast installation and set up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes the website crashes and sends you to a different page. The report filtering may take some time to load, especially for a large number of devices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1. Ease of use. I didn't have any experience with Patch Management software before Automox. It was easy to jump right in and start using Automox and patch our computers. The UI is also easy to read and follow. Automox is added to a device with an easy installation file. This can be installed manually or through a script. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When pushing Software or security patches through Automox, there doesn't seem to be any type of progress bar to tell how far the installation is or if its stuck. Usually during patching, the device will report an "Installing..." status in the Automox console. This can make it hard to tell when a patch is stuck due to a bad update or just taking a while. Can automatically patch known vulnerabilities of operating systems and third party applications. Also Automox supports All the OSs such as Windows , Linux and Macos Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Can be bit pricy compared to other patch management solutions. Only Available on cloud platforms. therefore all the devices even the critical servers do need an internet connections Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Ease of use in terms of patch management and automation tasks for endpoint management and easy deployment & implementation. Always available as a SaaS solution and convenient and easy to understand interface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The fact that there is no on-prem solution or deployment option available for the solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Automox can be as simple or as complex as you need it to be, and with its robust automation capabilities, it is an excellent option for any company striving to streamline patching and compliance across their workstations.
Overall, Automox is a fantastic endpoint patching and compliance system.m. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The most significant disadvantage of Automox is the cost, especially when scaling up to medium to large enterprise sizes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Most of the time Automox just works. I really like how easy it is to create worklets to install, remove applications or to resolve vulnerabilities. Using Automox for our patching solution has worked well too, I would say our environment is the cleanest it's ever been with very few patches that fail. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are times when a device will not connect with Automox and we can not find a reason for the failures and also times when a server shows it updated but Automox still shows it needs the update that was just applied. The problems are rare and occur less than 1% of the time but I end up spending a lot of times on the few issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Being able to segment different types of systems via groups, policies, and being able to upload installers to customize software install is very convenient. Removal of software via different set of customizable commands helps as well. All of our systems are on Automox, updated reguarly on a set schedule. Agent install are easy and straightforward, and Automox has responsive customer support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
For certain update item, Automox seems to be pushing software which fails, then reboots the system on its set schedule if policy is set that way which could irritate some users. Being able to selectively "mark off" some updates from within Automox console could be a nice feature request for future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We've used Automox for around 2 years now and we like the simplicity in how to create policies, and some of the more granular control around when devices patch. We have complex maintenance schedules that shift month-to-month, so being able to set a 3rd Wednesday rather than a fixed date works well for us.
Getting up and running and was fairly simple and straightforward, with us only needing to deploy agents and connect them up to the Automox cloud. Automox caters for proxying only the Automox traffic rather than having system wide proxies which works well for us in a predominantly server environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Over the past 6 to 8 months we've seen a significant degradation in performance and reliability with the product. Frequent outages of the console, delays in policies processing, or patching policies not processing at all. Sometimes this happens multiple times per week and is really disappointing and has dented our confidence in the product.
There have been automatic updates to the agents on at least two occasions which changed some behaviour about how it works, which has severely impacted us and our infrastructure operationally.
We only have standard support but we've struggled to get down to root cause on a number of issues, or we see issues being UK based and the support team being (Mountain time?) online much later in the working day for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Automox immediately helped our lackluster patching and updating policies and procedures. Previously we "hoped" we were patched or updated. Only to find out when looking at the server or laptop the updates were not applied. With Automox we are are 100% certain the patches are applied. this helps us know our environment is consistent across the board. Software deployment is great as well. It is very easy to setup applications for deployment. This has sped up deployment and makes us more secure as end users do not need local admin rights anymore. Implementation was fast we were up and running in a few short hours. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We are a little disapointed in the remote control tools. We are working with Automox on the issues to see if there are ways to improve our experience. It is a little clunky and does not aleays connect. We are troubleshooting to see if it is something with our systems or with Automox. We are using our previous tool until we are able to get Automox to work better for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My favorite thing would be the simplicity to navigate and understand the data. Although I am the primary admin foe the Automox platform at our company, I can rest esier knowing that any other admin on my team can go in and easily see what we have going on and easily troubleshoot any issues. I wish the remote sessions were more robust in the features it offered. It would be nice to be able to disable client controls or even a curtain maintenance mode. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
