UC4 is widely used by many customers from past many years due to its ease of understanding and not much complexity. Many scripting languages is a plus point.

There is not much to dislike about the Tool, but many a times felt and received feedback also about having troubles in customer support. AUTOMIC team needs to address their customer problems a bit faster and on priority.

Many customers have lots of jobs running in their PROD as well as non-prod environments. For BASIS team it was getting hard to monitor business and finance related jobs all time. An easy interface for building an automation script using blocks to create a workflow with the basic programming methods: if/else, foreach, et cetera, in which it is possible to insert more complex scripts, both by using other pre-established blocks and by scripting from scratch.
The ability to interface on both Windows and UNIX systems.
A powerful and complete scripting language with thousands of ready-made blocks of code.
A marketplace, managed by the manufacturer, with hundreds of plug-ins and ready-made workflows.
The software is perfectly integrated to manage and automate dozens of applications on the market: Apache, Tomcat, Remedy, VMWare, SAP, MySql, Jenkins, Office365, NetScaler, Siebel, SSH, Oracle.
The program scales smoothly from one server to an entire farm.
The manufacturer maintains a forum on which you can ask for help, there is always someone available to help you out.
The manufacturer offers many free courses and good platforms to obtain certifications on its website.

**What do you dislike about Automic Automation?**

The debugger could be more analytical and descriptive.
Dashboard building features should allow for more flexibility and options.
Some processes could be more intuitive and above all troubleshooting could be more guided.
The web interface suffers from any network downtime, in times of great crowding it is a bit slow.

**Recommendations to others considering Automic Automation:**

You need to be familiar with the operation of Windows servers (including cmd and Powershell) and Unix servers (settings and shell commands).

**What problems is Automic Automation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Automic we manage the entire flow of updating, restarting and cloning a server farm, without differences between windows and unix server.

1. Without API and objects created specifically for particular application you cannot establish the connection to third party tool or application
2. Without relevant details about the T-code like Table or BAPI or Function module we will be unable to perform SAP application
3. Limitations in files that can be interpreted by automic that is unable to read or extract data from pdf etc.
4. Logs are to be constantly removed from AE server to keep the automation engine healthy.
5. Automic tool is costlier to use.
6. When any agent becomes inactive then the object belonging to the that specific agent will also be inactive state. In simple words while executing the workflows containing the object will be on hold state.

**Recommendations to others considering Automic Automation:**

Automic is the best for back-end operation.

**What problems is Automic Automation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Number of changes made to database is negligible compared to changes made in front end as Automic is ITPA tool it is much reliable.

  ### 9. Best Tool for ITPA

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sowmya G. | Senior Software Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 03, 2019

**What do you like best about Automic Automation?**

With the different jobs present, interaction between operating systems is easy. The way in which daily iterative tasks are configured is extremely simple. The online document provided by CA technologies is just great. There is a description of every object present in the Automic tool so that you can have hands on with the tool. Mostly useful to read the backend tables of SAP

**What do you dislike about Automic Automation?**

The server interface is little hard to use in the beginning. It is slow sometimes that the technician has no idea what is happening. Sometimes its hard to find the error because it will not stop execution even if one job fails in the whole workflow. We need to capture everything from the last report as we could not able to see the user interface

**Recommendations to others considering Automic Automation:**

Best Tool for ITPA. It requires UC$ coding language, people who are interested in coding can use this Automation Tools. Mostly used to process the Backend automation. Useful for scheduling purposes.

**What problems is Automic Automation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CA Automic workload is very flexible for doing repetitive tasks. I worked mostly with the SAP BASIS works. The scheduling is very promising. Also working with SAP and the webservices which has API's is more flexible as we have tables. We can create utilities like creating variant if we need to create lot of times. Inbuilt variables and mail activities can be used as per our ease. if we want to run the job after some period of time, inbuilt jobs and options are useful.

**What do you dislike about Automic Automation?**

1. AE servers need to be cleaned up on regular basis otherwise automic will be hanged.
2. We can't automate the GUI of any Web Applications.
3. When we want to connect to any specific applications we only need to use the predefined objects which are available in automic, in case the object is not present we cannot automate the application.

**Recommendations to others considering Automic Automation:**

Automic is the best tool for back-end operations.

**What problems is Automic Automation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 11. Awesome journey with CA automic workload automation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sravani K. | Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2019

**What do you like best about Automic Automation?**

The UI of automic is more attractive and effective to use for valuable productivity. The way of creating the flows are easy and will prove our talent.

**What do you dislike about Automic Automation?**

The up-gradation of automic is effecting the slowness of the platform which makes us irritate regarding performance. There are no proper ways of calling API which is not properly established within the automic which is one negative point found from the CA automic workload automation.

**Recommendations to others considering Automic Automation:**

I am happy to recommend my friends which give the best future ahead with a great experience.

**What problems is Automic Automation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The platform is more capable of handling less load as compare with more which will provide the best experience throughout the journey with automic workload automation.

  ### 12. Automic - ITPA

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shreyash R. | Senior Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2019

**What do you like best about Automic Automation?**

Automic is an Information Technology Process Automation tool. Which is completely different than the RPA. It is advantageous as it does not depend on the UI for automation purpose. Instead it uses RFC calls for data extraction and processing.

**What do you dislike about Automic Automation?**

It can not be integrated just like that with any application and requires the web service calls to be available for the same. The Thick Client looked like a legacy application, but now we have Web interface for the same. Should be interesting to work with.

**Recommendations to others considering Automic Automation:**

Best tool when SAP is considered. Coding standards and naming conventions to be kept in mind while developing. This will ensure readability. The guide must be read and understood clearly before development in order to understand the capabilities and actual potential of Automic.

**What problems is Automic Automation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SAP Automation is very very powerful and results are satisfying. The workflows were very much readable in V11, but in V12 the Web Client seems to be little confusing.

  ### 13. IT Automation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pankaj D. | Associate, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Automic Automation?**

Automic has always been known for their industry-leading and innovative capabilities in scheduling applications across enterprises. Automic continues this tradition.
It enables connectivity to any application, databases, operating system and capable to support the growing business. It is capable to integrate all business applications effectively. Compared to other scheduling tools available its immense feature such as forecasting, reporting, error detection and correction, audit and Load balancing make it more powerful and reliable.

**What do you dislike about Automic Automation?**

The latest version brought some key feature however still those are still not user friendly like adding and creating new dashboard, jobs views and report view are still not user friendly and easy readable.

**Recommendations to others considering Automic Automation:**

I would recommend the software quality and the best way to get automated your process and many connected system under one software in single flow.

**What problems is Automic Automation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Applications that utilize the UC4 scheduling service benefit from a single point of control for administration and automation of operator activities to ensure a more consistent and reliable operations. This service offers better control for job processing across multiple ITS managed applications and platform in a distributed environment

  ### 14. Great job scheduling product

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Transportation/Trucking/Railroad | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2018

**What do you like best about Automic Automation?**

First, our configuration allows for the application to be in an active/passive state so that immediately when the active instance fails the passive instance takes over. We have over a thousand unique jobs configured to run. As with the CA7 product, the jobs can be configured to be scheduled based upon time/date parameters similar to cron or triggered based upon statuses of other jobs (or a mixture of the two). WCC is the UI to configure jobs; there is a lot of functionality to assist the creation and modification of jobs.

**What do you dislike about Automic Automation?**

On occasion, a job does not kill completely through the entire system(s). Assume access is available, it just takes killing the job on the remote system- this is rare and happens usually when the job is in a very bad state.

**Recommendations to others considering Automic Automation:**

For commands on the server, create aliases to simplify the actions. There are a lot of features; make sure you take the time to know them all so they can be implemented.

**What problems is Automic Automation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Centrally managed job scheduler and manager providing the ability to control changes throughout the enterprise.

  ### 15. Automation of your workflows

- Easy view of all jobs at once in a workflow - with a option to zoom in and zoom out.
-Schduling jobs and workflows.
-- Setting up external dependencies
--Transport case to move jobs across environments

**What do you dislike about Automic Automation?**

-- External dependencies handling to export jobs sometime tricky.
--CA support time for P1 is 4 hours- however it varies with support level.
-

**What problems is Automic Automation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All our data processing jobs are processed via automic.
