Single Source of truth. we can share documents from anywhere at any time with anyone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Trying to keep up with the new products. Its a great problem to have, however sometimes unhelpful with clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We utilize ACC for design (with Civil 3D, Plant 3D, and Revit) and with Desktop Connector 16.8 everything works better in ACC than it did on our network server. With the release of Sheet Set for Web the CAD programs are becoming even more useful. This is a product that Autodesk is continuing to invest in and it shows.
On the Build (construction) side of things having the design files in the same system allows for viewing of the Revit models as well as the PDFs during construction which has proven helpful to field staff. Being able to collaborate with the design team with issues, comments, and markups within ACC saves time when changes need to be made. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
ACC is a complex system to Administer and there are some things that can be done to improve this aspect.
Publishing (Revit)
We need scheduled publishing to publish all models regardless of updates, or have a Force publish option.
If a Structural Model that is linked into a Mechanical Model is updated the Structural model will be published but the Mechanical will not. This is because the Mech. model was not directly updated.
This causes a problem when viewing the Mechanical model online because it doesn’t show the updated (linked) Structural model.
Desktop Connector Improvements
With the release of DC 16.9 we now have the choice to install this at the root C:\ location, which is great, but it would be better if this was the default location and not just an option. Internally each company can force the installs to be consistent, but when working with other companies this can become a problem. I would like to see the default location be the root C:\ drive with the option to install to the (current default) C:\ Users folder
Really need a search bar for the Select Projects dialog when adding projects to DC. Admins have (or will have) hundreds or thousands of projects listed.
Being able to create a Favorite Projects List would be helpful as well.
Admin Improvements – Suggested improvements to GREATLY improve the Administration of ACC. These are listed according to importance/priority. I’m happy to discuss these in detail if it would be helpful.
Member settings should be managed at the Account Admin level and pushed down to projects.
Currently if a member’s role or company is changed, it then needs to be changed on every project they’re a member of. This means everything needs to be setup perfect the first time as any changes require extensive overhead to correct throughout the ACC system.
This level of change should be pushed down to the project level automatically, across all projects
Until this is implemented, Account Administrators should be the only people capable of changing members settings within a project, and right now Project Admins can do this.
Needs to be a more definitive line between Site Admins and Project Admins.
Project Admins should not be allowed to change a member account setting within a project (Role, Company, Access Level), or this should be a setting that can be enabled/disabled.
Project Admins should be able to:
Add members to projects
Configure/Change Project Feature Settings
Manage Folders and Permissions
Manage Project Properties
Account Permissions for Project Admins (Add companies and Creating Projects and Templates) should be off by default.
Delete (Archived) Projects!!
I understand an aspect of the problem, if projects are accidentally deleted, then Autodesk must recover them. I don’t want that either, but we can at least implement a multi-step deletion process to ensure a project can’t be deleted accidentally. Some ideas on a multi-step deletion process:
Active Project needs to be set to Archive
Checkbox to Enable Project Deletion or Require all project members be removed from project before it can be deleted.
Delete Project.
The problem with not being able to delete projects is that there are projects that are legitimately archived after completion and garbage projects in archive. I’ve taken to renaming the garbage project to Delete-### in sequence to it’s clear which of the archived projects are legit versus garbage.
Some Custom Fields in the Project Properties would be nice
I have a Power BI dashboard setup and was using the Business Unit section of BIM 360 projects to which Region of the company the project was in. Bringing Business unit back would be great but having a couple of custom fields would be better.
Add the ability to see which projects a member is assigned to within the ACC Admin Portal. Currently this is only available in the BIM 360 Admin Portal and only shows BIM 360 projects.
Export the Revit Version of the Project with the Data Extraction tools.
This is clearly tracked somewhere in the system, and it would be very helpful to be able to track for both Active and Archived projects.
As we try to cycle through our annual software rollouts knowing which version each project is will make migration planning much easier.
Also having this data for Archived projects will allow better planning if they come back to life and need to be upgraded.
Build Items/Issues
Forms
Forms Library
We can keep Form Templates in the library but cannot define any form settings within the library. This is a problem, we should have the option to fully configure form specific permissions within the Library (Edit, Review, View, Modify, Contributor, etc.).
This will simplify post creation, project configuratioin. Currently every form must be configured within every project once it's been created.
We can keep Form Templates in Project Templates which allows us to configure some of the settings, but not all of them. This also poses another problem where Form Templates need to be maintained in multiple Project Templates which means editing/maintaining Form Templates in multiple locations, AND still have to do additional configuration at the project level once the project has been created. The fact that its a platform that support all of our phases in a project. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Overall the only thing I can think about is the fact that some of the functions in ACC have some development still do be done before we can use them fully. Would say that it might not be such a bad idea to hold of on the releases to get them more to a 100% before releasing them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The thing I like the most is the 3D vieweer and sheets. We have a lot of staff that is not familiar with revit or doesnt have it downlaoded so being able to view sheets and the drawing in ACC is a huge advantage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I cant think of anything I dislike about ACC. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's constant improvements and APIs that allow you to easily get the data you need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Maybe its slow response to some feature requests like adding custom partner cards in the home page. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Que al trabajar en una compañía de operación y mantenimiento las licencias de los diferentes módulos son independientes, el caso de built y docs Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The best thing about the ACC is the ability to house models and distribute them all in one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The least helpful thing is some of the unworked details with the features: such as transmittals, issues, reviews etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
ACC is great for cloud collaboration, issue managment, and model coordination. The automation of clash detection through model coordination saves hours by auto grouping clashes that can be flagged as issues. The addition of briding also allows for multiple stakeholders to coordinate and share information back and forth between hubs which aids in file security and also offers a more organized project structure. I believe there are certain features that would make ACC adoptions rates increase. The ability to control the organization of the publish sets to be tied to the Revit manual print order would be a welcomed addition versus having the published sheets organized alphabetically. This would also be great to add sheet collections to publish to ACC as well so you can view multiple collections by selecting them independently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love that I can preview from the actual model and fly through as if I have the program open. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I dislike how confusing it can be to upload shop drawings and how the worksets or drawings sets have different meanings in Revit versus in ACC. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
More Seemless collaboration, Better communications between teams. This all makes it easier to share ideas and cut down on time waiting. They are always adding more tools and interoperability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The pricing for all the add-ins. More collection pricing would be better. Make Build better for the Architect. Too contractor based. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
