Top Rated Autodesk Arnold Alternatives
Without a doubt, the best part of Arnold is the images it kicks out. The lighting gets so real that it can make great images with a minimal amount of effort. There is a lot of versatility from the Arnold Standard Shader which is nice so you don't have to worry about whether you have chosen a phong or a Blinn or whatever. Just go with the standard shader and adjust to get the look you want. It took me a little while to realize that reflectivity and specularity were connected, but it makes sense now that I understand. The physical sky light is very complete with lots of adjustments and using HDRI's to get even more realistic is very easy. Having worked with Mental Ray and other renderers, I have found that I can get better results with less set up time using Arnold. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are three things I dislike. First, render times can be lengthy. If you think about how Arnold handles light, calculating loads of bounces in a very realistic way, this makes sense. But that doesn't mean I have to like it. Second, from time to time, if you are not careful with your textures and render settings, you can get a "firefly" effect where it appears as if little sparkles are going off in your specularity areas. This happened to me recently when I was doing some architecture work, and leaves in the bushes were sparkling as the camera moved in front of them. I removed specularity on the leaves to fix the issue, but sometimes you want specularity, and then you have to work at it a bit, clamping values and such. Lastly, if you aren't careful in your lighting setup or render settings, you can create a lot of noise in your shadows. This is often fixed by increasing samples and render passes, but that can lengthen render times significantly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The look and feel you can create in your renders using Arnold is unmatched. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Arnold, although a great renderer, is still very hardware-dependent and GPU rendering is still not there. It is very slow for low-end machines. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Sometimes while taking renders with area-specific or cropped regions, it leaves unfinished renders but to clarify that we need to do a small portion of rendering anywhere on the screen.Secondly, sometimes, the rendering status keeps on rolling despite it has finished rendering. Autodesk Arnold is very user friendly, if you already know the terminology of CGI applications and rendering engines. Figuring out anything is easy. Arnold render layers are the best thing ever. Well organized and simplified. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Well, there were times while accessing IPR, sometimes it doesn't respond. And sometimes, you won't see changes you made in the assets doesn't get rendered in the IPR right away. You'd have to stop the IPR and run it again. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The Monte Carlo ray tracing renderer, I think it's the best thing in Arnold. I have tried this with one of our small projects. It turns out the output is excellent Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think the amount of time it takes to render a single frame is a bit too much, But the end of the results, it's worth it Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like arnold and it's most of the features but what I don't like is when ever new update come they will remove some of the old features and names. So it make hard to figure out the old feature in new. Otherwise I like arnold and I prefer to use that Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is effortless to understand what is the most fantastic thing about Arnold. Artists don't need to go through many tutorials to use it. We can quickly get the desired output because of PBR shaders. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is nothing much to dislike about Arnold. But if we could see the layer stack in the render view directly and the blending layers in it, it would be the most fantastic thing to try. We can see the whole image in it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The lighting and renders are great. Also, it is faster than VRAY.
