"Efficient Keyboard Commands, but AutoCAD Feels Bloated and Slow to Load"
What do you like best about AutoCAD?

The keyboard commands. The proper way to work in AutoCAD is with one hand on the mouse and the other hovering over the keyboard to enter one and two letter commands. Very efficient if you know what you're doing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AutoCAD?

The bloatware aspect of it. AutoDesk never takes anything out of AutoCAD, just adds new stuff on top of existing. It definitely slows down load time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"AutoCAD is the one tool I don't fight with once the work gets serious"
What do you like best about AutoCAD?

It easy to collaborate since almost everyone in design or engineering understand AutoCAD files. What I appreciate most about AutoCAD is its reliability when project get detailed. I have used it for layouts revisions and last minute changes and it rarely breaks the flow. Precision tools like objective snap layers and dimension controls feels mature and dependable. Once I drawing is structured properly editing and reusing parts later becomes much faster. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AutoCAD?

Sometime it feel heavy at times on older systems, startup and large files handling aren't always smooth. The interface also hasn't changed much, which is good for consistency but can feel out dated compared to newer design tools. So basically these are not a major issues. "A reliable solution for accurate and professional CAD drafting"
What do you like best about AutoCAD?

What I like most about AutoCAD is its precision and powerful drafting tools. The software allows me to create highly accurate two-way drawings and detailed technical designs with ease. Features like layers, dimensioning tools, and customizable commands make organizing complex drawings much simpler. I also appreciate how easy it is to edit and update designs without starting from scratch, which saves a lot of time. Additionally, the wide industry adoption of AutoCAD makes collaboration smoother since many professionals already work with the same file format and standards. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AutoCAD?

The subscription cost can be expensive for small teams or individual users. Some commands and menus could be simplified to make navigation faster and more user friendly. For beginners, the learning curve is quite steep without proper training, and it also requires a powerful computer to run smoothly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Essential Tool Delivering Consistent Value Across Departments"
What do you like best about AutoCAD?

As a tool that we have used for quite some time both for developing projects for third parties and for executing our own developments, it undoubtedly continues to provide us with the necessary value for both our Engineering department and the other technical departments within the organization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AutoCAD?

When it comes to other CAD/BIM tools, there are particularities that apply to our case (development of industrial electrical/electronic equipment and systems). In certain cases, features such as automation for generating certain types of reports (cabling, bill of materials, among others) are more cumbersome in AutoCAD than in other platforms that are direct competitors. "AutoCAD’s Unmatched Precision and Speed with Command Line Shortcuts"
What do you like best about AutoCAD?

The best thing about AutoCAD is its unmatched precision and the Command Line interface. It allows you to translate complex ideas into exact geometric data with incredible speed once you've mastered the keyboard shortcuts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AutoCAD?

The main drawbacks are its steep learning curve and the tendency for files to become cluttered or corrupted without strict layer management. Additionally, because it is primarily vector-based, it lacks the automated, data-driven "smart" features found in modern BIM software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"AutoCAD is Easiest and friendly Application"
What do you like best about AutoCAD?

With AutoCAD, making complex 3D models and detailed 2D drawings. Layer management is yet another fantastic feature. Layering various components helps organise drawings, making managing visibility and organising intricate designs simpler. AutoCAD is a helpful tool for engineers and designers. AutoCAD is very best choice if you want to work in 2D linework, which is very efficient and faster. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AutoCAD?

The price is the problem. AutoCAD licences could be costly, particularly for individuals or small enterprises. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"AutoCAD: Boosts 2D & 3D Design Efficiency"
What do you like best about AutoCAD?

I like AutoCAD for its versatile features that simplify complex designing tasks. The options like trim and circle commands are particularly beneficial, making it straightforward to modify and create precise designs effortlessly. I find the availability of a wide range of tools and options within easy reach on the toolbar very convenient, as it aids in making instant drawings and streamlining my workflow. It's user-friendly interface makes locating and utilizing various tools a breeze, which is a significant contributor to making my designing tasks easier. Additionally, AutoCAD's ability to perform both 2D and 3D drawings efficiently stands out and substantially reduces the time and effort required for drawing complex designs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AutoCAD?

Sometimes, there are issues with one or two commands not working properly in AutoCAD, leading to alignment problems. To resolve this, I need to reset all commands and start from scratch with preferences, which can be quite time-consuming. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy Tool Selection and Drawing, But Some Features Need Improvement"
What do you like best about AutoCAD?

AutoCAD is a powerful, industry-standard CAD software that’s widely used for 2D drafting and basic 3D design. Overall, my experience with it has been very positive, especially for creating precise engineering drawings, layouts, and clear technical documentation. I’ve found it reliable and accurate in day-to-day use, and it feels well suited to both professional and academic work in engineering, architecture, and design. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AutoCAD?

One of the main drawbacks of AutoCAD is its high subscription cost, which can be difficult for students, freelancers, or small businesses. The learning curve can also be steep for beginners because of the large number of commands and tools. Additionally, performance may slow down when working with very large or complex drawings on lower-end systems, and its 3D modeling capabilities are limited compared to more specialized CAD software. "AutoCAD: Precise, Lightweight, and Reliable—But Needs Better 3D Line Identification"
What do you like best about AutoCAD?

AutoCAD is the best, I was introduced to it in my university, and I have been using it for almost 18 years. It is my favorite drafting tool, because it is precise and its files are light and compatible with most architectural softwares. I like how I can control the quality of the documentation and printing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AutoCAD?

I don't think it can be defined as a dislike, but I guess sometimes this software can be easily misused. It's hard to identify 3D lines in 2D spaces. Per example some users use topographic info to draw a site plan, and this can generate errors. It would be amazing if 3D elements had a flag to identify them quickly. "Effortless 2D Design, Needs Improved 3D and Animation"
What do you like best about AutoCAD?

I like that AutoCAD makes it easy to prepare various 2D drawings without needing to create 3D models like in SolidWorks. It's particularly useful for projects where only 2D drawing is required, such as duct design for air conditioners. Additionally, I find it easier to download and install AutoCAD compared to SolidWorks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AutoCAD?

When I try to prepare 3D modeling and animation of various mechanical systems it is difficult and takes a longer time. I want to improve the ability to prepare 3D modeling of a drawing, and add animation and simulation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
