**What do you like best about AutoCAD Plant 3D?**

When it comes  to producing accurate process diagrams, with an implementation of standards and codes in my design. It allows the validation of my design and the introduction of custom models or  primitives

**What do you dislike about AutoCAD Plant 3D?**

Well, i think the downside of plant3D is embedded in what the tool was designed for. e.g Althoug the Process diagrams are a representation of flow, off which the connections can be validated, It doesnt necessarily output a design that can be executed on site. More software  might be required to validate many other aspects of the design e.g

Intrestingly, The Creation of isometrics and general arrangement drawing for my plant design, Ability to create 3D pipeline layouts required for inspection by other stakeholders

**What do you like best about AutoCAD Plant 3D?**

Familiar user interface for AutoCAD users, which implies a low learning curve; on the other hand, the software management is not as difficult as other software. There is a very large community for software support.

**What do you dislike about AutoCAD Plant 3D?**

Limitations in the database, especially in large-scale projects, since being based on AutoCAD requires a subdivision of files that hinders a better workflow.

**What problems is AutoCAD Plant 3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Autocad Plant 3D has been used in small and medium-scale industrial plant design projects in my company. It has allowed for the detection and correction of design errors before construction, saving time and money. It has also improved communication and collaboration between teams and suppliers thanks to its ability to exchange information with other programs. However, due to its database limitations, the software has not been used in large-scale projects.

That you can develop a project in the same interface without the need to export the file to another software.

That it doesn't have a render engine and this means I have to export the volume to render and I lose more time

Being able to execute the work without surprises, already having all the exact documentation allows me to have greater control over the work.

**What do you like best about AutoCAD Plant 3D?**

When the user have to make and modify P&ID diagram and creating piping isometric drawings  , Plant 3D helps to create it with ease and accurately. This also helps in managing the engineering data.

For a process plant piping diagram file gets heavy due to which it takes a while to open or reopen the model file . Also when creating a database , it gets a bit tricky.

AutoCAD Plant 3D helps in developing annotated and layered isometric drawings from 3D models, creating reports through creator modlie, editing various specs and documents through spec editor etc.

This software allows to create and edit P&ID and 3D models, it can also extract piping orthographics and isometrics with the comprehensive design toolset. Multiple file can be opened in a single session.

Yes, for industrial projects. This is the best software platform to work on.

P&IDs documents can be orepared along with the orhtographic views. Every element has a separate P&ID of its own. Ortho drawings can be prepared of struture.

Plant 3D is can be used to create a big piping system in plant and that software give us 3D model before the actual installation. Iso that it generates are so good have almost every detail that need for the plant piping installation.

It take large processing time. During the modeling charging its view it difficult and database management is not simply.The administration part of creating line is difficult process.

we are working on Intel project in they are creating a assembly line for manufacturing it will reduce overall project cost by 15-20%  because of less pipe waste and kess time for installation.

piping design is very easy to route and equipment modelling. Modelling is very easy with accurate dimensions.

In specifications pop-up window only specs long or short description will show. Identifying components bit difficult. if we add item code column in spec pop-up window easy to identify.

P &I'd some cases as per line no service or spec is not exactly executing in 3d while assigning line tags

Engineering services and smart design work  with cost cut down. Accuracy and  time saving, can view multiple viewports in single window.

**What do you like best about AutoCAD Plant 3D?**

P&ID module: Autoplant ensures that there is no double tagging for valves or lines. Automatic line breaks at crossing lines. Possibility to make client specific tool pallettes.
3D: slope adjustment for piping is really intuitive and works great.
Integration of 3D scans in the model. The possibilty to 'cut' the pointcloud in the drawing itself is really nice. Before I had to use a second program to control the 3D pointcloud.
A lot of different designers can work on one project. We can split the project in small pieces and use xref to connect to the adjacent piece.
Integration of the drawings in navisworks for 3D reviewing.
It's really easy to integrate 3D blocks from suppliers in our 3D model.

**What do you dislike about AutoCAD Plant 3D?**

If one of my designers is active in the project, I can't change anything the project manager module. Would like that to be changed.
Isogen can fail sometimes. We use a lot of special equipments in our line of work, isogen can't handle it sometimes.

Use plant 3D in combination with navisworks.

**What problems is AutoCAD Plant 3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before, we were using regular autocad to design P&ID's. We spend a lot of time checking valve/ equipment tagging and line numbers. Now Autoplant ensures every tag is unique. Saving us a  lot of time.
Slope is really important in our line of work. Plant 3D handles slope far better than other designing apps. We can draw much faster and have better results.
Imperial and metric changeovers are difficult sometimes.

- Could link with Autocad 2D when model 3D piping, easy to 3D plant model when having 2D layout
- Easy and friendly to create and customize Piping Spec

Worked with various softwares like but for P&id ,i always use autocad because in autocad P&ID it is very easy to use all the valves are already given with the without making any block we can use those valves, storage tanks, pumps etc with different line type.  Easy handling with accuracy,user friendly

Data base of all the codes of asme b31 should be given so that it may be used during designing of p&id on the system itself

Perfect operation of your interface gives you the option to highlight very well what you are doing allowing you to put tags for what you want very easy to use does not need to be an expert to use it

The only thing that I do not agree with P & ID is that they should put more symbols and improve the ones they have since sometimes it costs for the system to see it but it's nothing special

It has all the standard standard libraries in it and follow the ISO and DIN standards. simply by picking and droping the symbols the P&ID is formed.The versatile Data Manager enables easier data manipulation and reporting while also supporting information exchange with external sources in multiple formats.Perform error checking with the ability to
better identify, navigate to, and highlight
inconsistencies in the drawings.

Generaly I am satisfied with the product. but somethimes working with the ploter inside the program is not easy.

It's a great program and very easy to use. Great support if any issues also. We have tried several other versions however Autocad has proven the best solution.

There isn't anything I particularly dislike. Price is higher than some however it really is the superior product, we would not consider using another program at this point in time. If they keep going in the upwards direction they are we won't have a need to either.

Give it a go, with any program like this it does take time to get used to however this program will not disappoint. The feature sets available are better than any competing products we have seen or had experience with.

The program is better than competing products on the market we find and for the price we are very happy to continue using Autcad.

**What do you like best about AutoCAD Plant 3D?**

This is a Great tool to develop P&IDs. It is user friendly, Intelligent and uses AutoCAD features which are very easy to use and understand. Due to its intelligent capabilities, user can generate various reports in less time.
Reports like Instrument list, Equipment list, PLC IO, valves are best.
being an Autodesk product, it is easy to interface with many other application which shares same platform.

One Big problem with AutoCAD P&ID is it can not be used in multi office environment. So all users of the software must be in same location in order to use it. this is very important for big global projects where users from many countries are working on same project simultaneously.

AutoCAD is one tool I use extensively in my job profile as a process engineer.. The feature I like the most is its ability to give me flexibility to show what ever kind of process flow and instrumentation as possible and then if it doesn't work for me then giving me the ability to readily change it and also look up good help

**What do you dislike about AutoCAD Plant 3D?**

I dislike the print and the conversion facilities where we can convert P&IDs to other formats for example pdfs etc.

**Recommendations to others considering AutoCAD Plant 3D:**

I would recommend them working on their color screens and the menu options. Sometimes you get lost in the menus and also sometimes some of the functionality is hidden from use and thus even available cannot be used.

I am a process engineer and work on intricate waste treatment systems in the semiconductor industry. Without AutoCAD P&IDs, I am essentially rendered useless in my job. The main benefit is that it can quickly help me present an idea in the scientific form of a P&IDs to present in front of a technical audience.

The accuracy, userinterface and features are very good.  The ability to easily change line weights and scales is very important

Hatching is terrible.  It takes ages to do and often the programme won't recognise an enclosed space.  It needs a feature that quickly gives you a preview of the hatch while working to then render later.  This is very important

Use it for 2D work, the 3D feature is terrible. Tbh I don't think anyone uses it so perhaps they could remove this feature

I'm a student so I do project proposals using AutoCAD.  Without it I would have to draw by hand

The autocad add-on makes it easier to create details for plan sets submitted to the city. Simplifies adding specifications and information needed to know during installation.

The program is definitely different than what we had before which was straight autocad LT. SomEwhat of a learning curve involved but not a huge obstruction.
