A more streamlined, transparent menu of their professional service offerings would make the initial engagement much smoother for smaller teams or academic departments.

Don't treat them as just a software vendor; treat them as a strategic partner. Before you dive into the technical implementation, engage with their success managers to define your "North Star" metrics. Also, take full advantage of their university/training modules early on—it saves a massive amount of troubleshooting time later.

The ecosystem supports cross-team visibility and brings more structure to execution. Tools like Jira work together smoothly, which makes it easier to break down complex work into manageable sprints.

It also simplifies assigning tasks and tracking progress, helping drive team accountability and support reliable delivery.

I’d also add that shared documentation tied to active issues improves knowledge management. In my case, I can stay aware of what’s happening overall, even when I’m focused on my own work.

**What do you dislike about Atlassian?**

The initial learning curve wasn’t easy for me. I found the platform quite complex, and overall it felt heavy to use. A few colleagues felt overwhelmed as well, mainly because of the sheer number of configuration options and features.

On top of that, certain tools can feel slower and less responsive than competitors. It can also be hard at times to pinpoint who made specific changes within a project.

If you’re considering Atlassian, it’s best to start with a clean setup and rely on the native templates. Limit administrative permissions early to avoid overcomplicating your initial workflows. The platform itself is excellent, but the sheer number of configuration options can create a steep learning curve.

That’s why investing in structured onboarding and setting clear boundaries from the beginning is essential, so the experience doesn’t become overwhelming for new users.

Atlassian serves as a “single source of truth” for the organization I currently work with. The biggest benefit is how well the tools support collaboration across technical teams. While we use Bitbucket as part of the ecosystem, the primary value for us comes from Jira and how effectively it supports day-to-day execution and coordination.

I don't have many dislikes about Atlassian. If I have to choose something, I don't like how the printing process works when printing one of my pages. I'd like there to be a dedicated print function specifically for printing pages in correct format

Atlassian gives me a central hub for several different services, mainly Confluence and Trello, which I use regularly. Its free tier is more than sufficient for my day-to-day needs.

Atlassian does offer some history tracking but sometimes it's hard to tell who made a change to an overall project.

Atlassian has everything you need to manage and develop software projects. You can easily build and create sprints for multiple projects and teams. You can also manage multiple sprints and boards from within a single view.

All the tools in Atlassian are super easy to get a hang of, and each tools solves a particular problem that teams face.

There is a small learning curve to tools like Jira and Confluence, but there are tons of how to videos available!

Absolutely go for it! One of the best platforms out there to help you manage your stuff in a more efficient manner

**What problems is Atlassian solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've been using Atlassian's tools like Trello and Loom, and they're tremendous in keeping me on track! Trello is a lifesaver for managing my tasks and quotas. Loom is equally impressive, making video sharing seamless without the hassle of meetings. Their products are highly intuitive for non-techies like me, and the agile-driven approach is a perfect fit for my workflow.

**What do you like best about Atlassian?**

How everything can link to everything. Seriously, being able to view the provenance of any feature/bug, from initial planning notes through to implementation through to support and change requests, is amazing.

**What do you dislike about Atlassian?**

Administration can be hairy sometimes. It has gotten better over the years, but it feels like you need a degree sometimes to configure the ins and outs of things.

**Recommendations to others considering Atlassian:**

Be wary of team size increases, be sure to factor this into any projections for monthly spend.

**What problems is Atlassian solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For us, if it's not in an Atlassian product, it doesn't exist. Source code in Bitbucket, work items in Jira, doco in Confluence. Everything linked to everything. Breadcrumbs for everyone! We'd be lost without it. And we're certainly not power users, there's so much more that the Atlassian suite could be doing for us. I'd recommend the suite 1000% to anyone!

Frequent price increases have been affecting users too often.
