Its communication tools make it easy to share targeted updates, and the mentorship program features have been invaluable—helping us seamlessly match and support 70 mentor–mentee pairs this year. **What do you dislike about Athlete Network?** Would love to see increased features in the mentorship program like integrating an in-platform video conferencing tool instead of having to send mentorship pairing off site to zoom or facetime. Over all, great staff and excited for the future working with the Athlete Network Team! **What problems is Athlete Network solving and how is that benefiting you?** Athlete Network provides a unique space where letterwinners and current student-athletes can come together in one centralized platform. It serves as our online mentorship home, allowing us to share content, structure the mentor–mentee journey, and guide the overall experience in a more intentional and organized way. ### 2. Being able to send them exclusive content, and email them directly through the networks is amazing. **What do you dislike about Athlete Network?** The biggest flaw I have seen so far is that if I want an article to be available to everyone. But only want to notify a specific part of the audience. I either can not, or have to make another article of the same content labeled for that specific group then send. It would be nice to have the option to notify only a certain sport even if the article is a network wide one. **What problems is Athlete Network solving and how is that benefiting you?** Giving our former athletes a platform to stay more easily connected to the university. ### 3. I really like the reports of it too and being able to pull specific rosters. I also like having a rep who is very responsive if I have ideas of what to implement for resource cards. **What do you dislike about Athlete Network?** Downsides is bouncing back and forth from the drafts to live. Whenever I try to delete drafts, it is a pain to do multiple because it keeps sending me back to the live resource cards. We did do a survey to former athletes and there were some that said they don't use it much and I think if there was a phone app it would be better. **What problems is Athlete Network solving and how is that benefiting you?** Athlete Network solves the communication barrier between athletics and former athletes. Having the articles generate through Athlete Network that I can easily push out by simply adding some body text to the post to push makes it so easy to communicate. ### 4. Candace is always extremely helpful for customer support. **What do you dislike about Athlete Network?** I wish there were simpler options for chatting with groups of people, as well as a feature to save past conversations within those groups. The tools are easy to use and understand. Plus, the AN team is great to work with. **What do you dislike about Athlete Network?** My concerns regarding AN are not platform specific. I wish our grouping of Alumni were quicker to catch on. I'm hopeful that it will continue to grow. AN support has been very helpful in brainstorming ways to improve. **What problems is Athlete Network solving and how is that benefiting you?** Not only is AN giving members of our alumni base a place to connect with SDSU, but it's giving our development office prospects to visit with. We had our first success in 2025 turning an AN user into a donor, and when we travel we use the map feature to see who is in the area. That is one of the tools I am most excited about using in the coming years as our platform grows and expands. ### 7. AN is open to feedback and making improvements to their platform based on user experience. **What do you dislike about Athlete Network?** I don't know if it's a dislike, but if you want to highlight a resource card in a newsletter, you need to know the the title to find it. I either have to go out of network to our department website or toggle between the resource card and the live network within the platform. **What problems is Athlete Network solving and how is that benefiting you?** Athlete Network is helping us clean up our letterwinners data, and engaging our alumni who cannot always make it back to campus. ### 9. As a user of the program I like that you can have a hotspot of where your athletes are former and current. **What do you dislike about Athlete Network?** The least helpful thing with Athlete Network is that the emails are not always going to the main inbox for my members. **What problems is Athlete Network solving and how is that benefiting you?** It solves the problem of bringing a central place for student-athletes to come and learn about their sports. Also, the ability for letterwinners to interact with one other through various resource cards that are published is a big benefit. It really encourages engagement among letterwinners. **What do you dislike about Athlete Network?** We have discovered the years of participation/years lettered may not always line up correctly with our records. **What problems is Athlete Network solving and how is that benefiting you?** Athlete Network is helping with communications to large groups of letterwinners. We are able to get messages out to large groups without having to send multiple emails due to limitations on how many people you can send an email too. ### 11. It would be much easier if there were a feature allowing the admin to enter information for a new account, which would then trigger an automated email to the individual so they could complete the sign-up process themselves. It takes a lot of attention before it becomes consistently effective.
