ARKit offers an impressive suite of tools for building immersive and high-performance AR experiences, especially with its seamless integration into the Apple ecosystem and support for LiDAR-based scene understanding. What I like best is its precision in world tracking and how easily it enables developers to create realistic AR interactions.

**What do you dislike about ARKit?**

eliance on newer Apple hardware for advanced features limits accessibility and cross-platform reach.

**What problems is ARKit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ARKit solves the challenge of building stable and immersive AR experiences by handling complex sensor data and environment mapping behind the scenes. It benefits me by allowing rapid development of AR features without needing deep expertise in computer vision or 3D graphics. Its integration with tools like RealityKit and Swift makes it easy to create realistic interactions and animations.

  ### 2. Amazing results with an easy interface

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** F. Javier P. | Mobile Team Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2023

**What do you like best about ARKit?**

Due to the quality of the hardware that runs on, and the tight integration between hardware and software in Apple, you can get amaz¡ng results with a few lines of code. There are plenty of example code around there

**What do you dislike about ARKit?**

Honestly, there aren't many things I don't like about this product. I've created a couple of production-ready apps, and so far so good

**What problems is ARKit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I haven't run on any problems while using this SDK

  ### 3. Apple Arkit, the constant evolutive innovation for the upcoming Metaverse.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thierno Ousmane D. | Administrateur, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2022

**What do you like best about ARKit?**

It is an apple software for both developers and simple iPhone users. For the first ones to create and monitor VR (Virtual reality) apps in different domains such as the gaming field, and for the second group to experience VR in different domains such as geolocalization outside while navigating areas, or displaying pieces of information about products that they would like to buy. The things that I like the most about this software are:
- The ability to share recordings with collaborators in remote locations. This is a good thing when working on a project where the members are distant from each other. More than ever, working remote keeps gaining pace, and this software perfectly fits the trend;
- App clip codes are easy to integrate (App clip code encodes information about an item that can be displayed over screening it by a camera device);
- The possibility for the ARKit to decode an App clip code URL, get access to it, and recode it into any other desired information to be displayed.

**What do you dislike about ARKit?**

- The device must have an A12 Bionic processor or higher for the geo-localization system to function correctly. This is a huge disadvantage for the coders that can't  necessarily upgrade to the latest iPhone devices;
- Some features are not available worldwide yet, but efforts are being made to expand the full features of the software worldwide;
- It would be good to find means to reduce the errors in decoding the App clip, plus some bugs to be fixed.

**What problems is ARKit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

So far, this app has helped me a lot in localizing myself through real-time information displays. It is just phenomenal! You need to experience it personally to see it: The maps with all the physical components (roads, buildings, or traffic signs) from where you are pop up right on your screen, with lines to give you the shortest path to reach your destination.

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2019

**What do you like best about ARKit?**

Apple has created a very big impact and has been doing so much in the field of Augmented Reality ARkit is the best exam[le to depict what future holds for us. ARKIt is one of the best AR SDK available with so many features to offer World Tracking is one of the features that I personally like apart from this, face tracking, object tracking, image tracking, orientation, and position tracking are the features offered in ARKit SDK. Apple devices have hardware configuration behold in such a way that devices hold capabilities to offer and engage user into Immersive experience which is one step better than ARCore.

**What do you dislike about ARKit?**

Even being the best, and providing various tracking ARKIts physics anatomy is not that precise. The obstruction could be detected easily, though low light environment sensing is good but leaves an impact when the scene slowly fades. The placement of anchors is precise but could quite default on planes with vibrant colors.

**Recommendations to others considering ARKit:**

ARKit is developing fast and apple is putting so much into the evolution of ARKit the last big release ARKit 3 changes the whole idea of immersive experiences. Apple sees AR as a promising area and features provided by ARKIt can be easily integrated into an existing application or building a new application. AR itself is user engaging where we overlay a virtual world on the top of the existing world which could be used in existing business sectors.

**What problems is ARKit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating an Anatomy and Autopsy application that will help doctors to understand the process of surgery and human anatomy without facing cadavers or humans and animals. this will significantly reduce the number of cadavers to be kept in hospitals and would provide many details and deep hierarchy to understand the anatomy which could not be possible with cadaver itself.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Suriya P. | Technical Developer (Augmented and Virtual Reality), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 29, 2019

**What do you like best about ARKit?**

World tracking, the future of Augmented Reality as I envision is to be inclusive and shareable among peers, Apple has an advantage over other SDK's in Augmented Reality as they stand by their motto of making the hardware and software in such a way that it is an even exchange. Notably, visual-inertial odometry, is something that stands out.

**What do you dislike about ARKit?**

Object recognition is the not the best, the compile time is a lot and it is at times unreliable, the algorithm used for this compares images captured by the device's camera with the PNG and the 3D object data which is stored using the .arobject file extension. And the result that is returned by it is not validated using any artificial intelligence or learning, which might raises a few eyebrows.

**Recommendations to others considering ARKit:**

It is a great kickstart to the AR world, as it has a great future and being an Apple product the amount tof potential it has is tremendous. As Apple has been investing in AR for quite sometime, I also believe Apple will reach a point where they would push spatial computing even more.

**What problems is ARKit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ARKit does a great job in expressing ideas, and showing data in a fun way. The possibilities are endless with it going in the right path, for me the iOS devices have the power to render the best models, with heavy textures, as Apple's chips are fast enough to handle the rendering at that scale.

  ### 25. Consider well the design for the iPhone and iPad by using ARKit.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashish B. R. | Human Resources Information System Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2019

**What do you like best about ARKit?**

Provides support to IOS devises, As ARCore focuses on Android devices on the other hand ARKIT is focuses on AR application which help in developing exquisite AR Experience for IOS Devices. So for developers and Designer ARKIT made target detection, Mapping and object detection easy for IOS applications. It Supports IOS 11 and above and even IPad and IPhones can be used as Window Screening to detect objects and Images in the Real Environment.

**What do you dislike about ARKit?**

The dislikes which I have for AR KIT is Virtual models cannot be calculated before launching the application and Anchoring of Images don't Provide stability while triggering image recognition and Lock #D models. Limitation for just being available for IOS Devices is also a drawback in ARKIT so If a Developer is Developing AR application just IOS devices, ARKIT is the best option other wise VUFORIA could be used from my personal experience.

**Recommendations to others considering ARKit:**

Blokes working Upon AR applications mainly for IOS devices I highly recommend AR KIT because this is the best option to develop in the Technology market. Proper Demo and Documentation are provided, so their will not be any issue from there side as per Environment and Services. Everyone should look at for at least demo to get the look and feel of ARKIT, I'm sure you would love it.

**What problems is ARKit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm Using ARKIT basically to develop 3D models by triggering Image recognition and Object detection for IOS devices only, to detect object in the real environment by the camera. This application will only be running on IPads and IPhones for Android I used Vuforia .

  ### 27. Developing AR applications for IOS devices

AR kit enabling developers to achieve interaction with the outside surrounding with help of IOS camera and Sensors. Apple Developer Site based on the AR kit helps in providing such valuable resources and information about building AR apps, Which makes it more interesting and sample codes could be downloaded for reference so Individual who is not aware how to use ARKIT could easily use it and learn it from scratch.
It is introduces for IOS 11 or later and supports both front and rear camera. Use of Visual Inertial Odometry in ARKIT makes it sense the room environment for IPad and IPhones so even apple users can use it as a window onscreen viewer .

**What do you dislike about ARKit?**

In comparison to AR core the only dislike for me the mapping and managing of larger maps, though ARcore and ARKIT use scattered maps and takes the outside world as a whole but ARKIT apps are less extensive compared to AR core. AR kit stores the latest captured location, so basically the area which is mapped by the camera In AR core Expands fast as Compared to AR KIT .

**Recommendations to others considering ARKit:**

For AR apps for IOS and IPad best option if you want achieve something in the field of AR. All the documentation are available with DEMO provided by the ARKIT community and ARKIT has come recently which is attracting companies and Vendors to hire individuals working on AR so Colleges students have the best Opportunity to Explore it and Start working upon it, motion capture, Tracking Face and other Immersive applications can be build. Great Opportunity for the undergraduate to work upon

**What problems is ARKit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am Using AR KIT for developing applications for Ipads and Iphones, which is basically checking the cleanliness of the room. Whenever we run the app and scan it through the room it will check and show whether the room is clean or not just by moving through the camera.

**Reviewed by:** Xavier E. | 3D Design & Vizualisation Artist, Animation, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2019

**What do you like best about ARKit?**

apple makes tools that goes to the point regarding what most people will do with it, and how that will emerge more markets, and they do it really well.

**What do you dislike about ARKit?**

USDZ file format is not good enough, too basic. It should fully support .gltf which is vastly better and is from Khronos group, so there's no excuse not to.

**Recommendations to others considering ARKit:**

Whenever using these kind of tools, make sure the artistic value, such as the 3D and all media, is of good quality. No one empathises with bad GUIs or low visual appeal. You might have a great product code wise, but with a lazy expression of it.
Work with the people that are good at this, and put a decent effort at getting that right. I've seen great tools behind horrible interfaces and appeal.
If it is hard to get this in 2D, is harder in 3D.
It will reflect on your product success immediately.

**What problems is ARKit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I bring services similar to BIM, but with affordable and practical every day technology like ARKit.
Previz/Archviz/project management in 3D, VR and AR.

  ### 30. The Amazing ARKit

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yashwanth (Ash) M. | Research Engineer, Computer Software, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2019

**What do you like best about ARKit?**

The tracking, ease of use and the option to use via Scene Kit or Unity, Unreal, the latest Quick look option from the Safari browser the list goes on. C'mon this is a product of Apple xD

**What do you dislike about ARKit?**

Well from what I heard, the image recognition can be improved a lil more but it is already doing a remarkable job. I wish they'd support Quick look feature in other browsers or release something like Google's new AR Scene viewer that leverages ARCore installed on the phone right from the browser.

**Recommendations to others considering ARKit:**

Don't think anything. If a lot of your target customers use iOS devices or you want to provide an option of quality SLAM based experiences powered by Apple itself then go with it. They are adding new features every now and then.

**What problems is ARKit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The list is huge. Apple is one of the biggest game changers in the industry. Anything they do, leaves a huge footprint which others in the industry are following. We have used ARKit to make Portal experiences (if you don't know this or haven't tried you definitely should), AR instruction manuals, Indoor Navigation, Usual AR eXpeRiences like furniture. I'll let you guess the rest.

  ### 33. Good Object positioning and surface recognition

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2019

**What do you like best about ARKit?**

The best feature of ARkit that differentiates it from the market is the light estimation, 3D models can be updated in real time based on their illumination. As no placeholder is required it can be deployed on any surface and are no longer bound to a confined space as such.

**What do you dislike about ARKit?**

What I dislike is the compatibility with only iOS devices. However ARCore is an alternative for android but we have to develop the same application again on another platform then. One big flaw is that the models cannot be calibrated before launch.

**What problems is ARKit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are developing a virtual model for real estate visualization.

  ### 34. Augment localised data - add AR to location based data

**What do you like best about ARKit?**

I like the simplicity of using it as it allows to set up an AR experience in a short time.
I remember one of my first experiments implementing a solar system with planets moving around the sun: not too complex even if it were a newbie in AR.

**What do you dislike about ARKit?**

I need to find a way to streamline the 3d model creation, probably because I need more 3d modeling experience. Still, haven't. explored the iOS 13 ARkit but I hope to find a better way to interact with 3d object

**Recommendations to others considering ARKit:**

Working on mobile it's better to use the tool provided by the mobile os vendor (for Apple is ARKit)

**What problems is ARKit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In my opinion, using AR opens new opportunities in communicating information. In my project, I'm going to use AR to provide insights about data geo-localized.

  ### 37. ARKit

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gurkaran S. | Business Intelligence Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2019

**What do you like best about ARKit?**

The most helpful about ARKit is the ability to detect horizontal and vertical planes by using the device's camera. There is an algorithm which gets this point and returns the information as an object known as ARPLaneAnchor object.

**What do you dislike about ARKit?**

The ugly part of using ARKit is the hardware requirement which requires IOS with an A9 processor(iPhone 6 or later version) and there is an effect on the battery percentage as well.

**What problems is ARKit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was looking for a solution of image recognition in order to add the virtual object, ARKit has built-in image recognition and to which we can input out images for them to be detected.

  ### 38. My Experience with the ARKit

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2019

**What do you like best about ARKit?**

I think the over user design and experience make the most sense out of the current AR kits on the market, there is not an overwhelming amount of information up front and the workflow is pretty seamless with seeing what your changes are doing.

**What do you dislike about ARKit?**

I think that the prebuilt tracks for certain projects you are building on are half cooked. That means that they really don't care about the free material made available and that in the end the creators are still only out for profit versus helping the user.

**What problems is ARKit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used ARKit for many different projects, I just used it to create an interactive art mural that allows users to point there phones at the wall then a display will come to life on their phone. The geo location based AR has been great to use within the ARKit.
