Specially around impact to spend categories such as commodities, packaging and ingredients. These insights to spend categories help us to build the procurement sourcing strategies as these impactors contribute as a key insight. **What do you dislike about ARIES Petroleum Economics and Reserves Software?** Integration with other tools (cross functional), we manage spend analysis tools as well and they are not integrating with this; which means that offline data crunching is needed. By data crunching I mean that we need to take the information from this sofware, place it into excel for example and put it in a format that then could be uploaded into our project management and dashboard tools - this is not eficient. **Recommendations to others considering ARIES Petroleum Economics and Reserves Software:** Understand how this tool and data provided will integrate with current systems **What problems is ARIES Petroleum Economics and Reserves Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** Visibiliy on economic evaluations and data inputs for strategy definition. we realize benefits by understanding the total cost of ownership impact from key categories. Once you get acquainted with how they work, it becomes so easy to query/update/enhance your specific database. It is both structed, yet flexible enough to allow almost anything you need done in Reserves to be accomplished. Some of the other things I like about Aries are its ability to be deployed on multiple database platforms including: Oracle SQL, MS Access, the shortcut keys that allow you to use the program almost without moussing, and the way that everything has a place where it is stored neatly in a table. **What do you dislike about ARIES Petroleum Economics and Reserves Software?** The main dislike I have with Aries, is that they haven't updated the Multigraph module in what seems like a hundred years. It functions, you can use it to put a forecast, but it is very antiquated and the visuals are not good. Besides the multigraph being outdated, Aries also was built to be a local install, with lots of processes needing to point to the C: or other local files. This is great when you have a company that works a lot on local equipment, but not great at all when you have a company that is pushing toward cloud implementation of everything. Aries and cloud tech, do not mix. **Recommendations to others considering ARIES Petroleum Economics and Reserves Software:** Aries is the industry standard, don't let the ancient looking interface turn you off, the backend database is a thing of beauty once you understand it. My other advice would be that with someone who knows how to set it up/ use it well, you can do almost anything! **What problems is ARIES Petroleum Economics and Reserves Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** The primary problem we solve with Aries is having a place to store all of the pertinent information about reserves in one central, quarriable place. The SQL backend allows for any kind of reporting you need to do, as well as plenty of storage space to run multiple different scenarios around pricing, forecast, expenses, etc. Plus Aries has been such an industry standard for so long, that it is almost essential when sending information about reserves to others. ### 3. The results can be extracted from oneline in Microsoft Access. It is also possible to global edit all the cases all at once. The software is able to match the scenario seamlessly without leaving any case out when global editing. **What do you dislike about ARIES Petroleum Economics and Reserves Software?** The software feels tacky when being used. There are hang ups sometimes when running cases and it can lead to slow running times. The memory space gets filled up quickly and it is not suited for extremely big data sets especially when printing results to the detail table. I typically have to compact and repair the database in Microsoft Access to free up space to run future runs. It would be great if the software automatically compacts and repairs anytime the software is closed or once a day. **Recommendations to others considering ARIES Petroleum Economics and Reserves Software:** It would be great to be able to schedule out a rig scenario and make ARIES a more robust economic tool. Something similar to Enersight would be great. It would be very impactful to the industry if different rig scenarios can be scheduled and ran on the ARIES platform. Also, I would recommend switching data storage to the cloud. **What problems is ARIES Petroleum Economics and Reserves Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have used ARIES to run acquisition and divestiture models as well as single well economics for projects.
