I liked very little about it. **What do you dislike about Arctera System Recovery?** It was difficult to use, and barely improved over the years I used it. I kept getting improvements promised, but few were forthcoming. I have not used the latest incarnation of the product, so I am not aware of any improvements. **What problems is Arctera System Recovery solving and how is that benefiting you?** I migrated to solutions like EaseUS Todo Backup technician/enterprise, Cove Data Protection or a combination of the two of those, and have not looked back. ### 2. Depending on the type of configuration you can also select the specific date and time from the recovery point of the object to be restored. **What do you dislike about Arctera System Recovery?** The VSR is very good software, but there is some glitch in software that some time it dose not clear the backup sets automatically, we have to manually delete the backup set, or its goes on filling the space **What problems is Arctera System Recovery solving and how is that benefiting you?** It allows me to ensure the business continuity and make downtime in case of any mishaps minimum, and also allows me to restore a single file in case of accidental deletion. ### 3. I do like the option to back up certain folders on a server instead of the entire server which isn't needed in all cases. **What do you dislike about Arctera System Recovery?** The error messages you receive when the backup isn't successful aren't always clear. You have to research to see what the fix is. Sometimes the Veritas Knowledge base isn't that helpful. **What problems is Arctera System Recovery solving and how is that benefiting you?** Veritas is an option when backing up critical systems. It is a solution that was put in place for making sure information was backed up to a secured location. ### 4. Takes no time at all to get everything back where it belongs! Would highly recommend! **What do you dislike about Arctera System Recovery?** Price point is a little steep compared to some other solutions, but the intuitiveness makes it worthwhile. Kind of like the old saying of getting what you pay for, it's not worth cutting corners when it comes to data restoration. **What problems is Arctera System Recovery solving and how is that benefiting you?** Helps keep data available for users by allowing me easy access to recover files from yesterday, a week ago or a month ago. Definitely helps me sleep better at night knowing I can easily access anything that may have been mistakenly deleted or damaged. ### 5. Since this is cloud based, it works from anywhere in the world. Control what to restore: Veritas allows control over granular objects such as files, folders and/ or application specific files and even logs, and the user the can simply decide on what all shall be restores excluded the objects which are not required. **What do you dislike about Arctera System Recovery?** This is a pretty solid platform, however, it lacks security in some spaces. One of such space is securely storing snapshots in Veritas systems. Backups can easily be taken but storing them and then encrypting them is another challenge. This is currently not possible via Veritas which I think is a miss. **What problems is Arctera System Recovery solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have veritas deployed firm-wide for backup and restore activities. It is configured to take periodic backups for all the assets firm-wide with applications in prod and non-prod enviroments as well. ### 6. It is also nice that it can restore physical and virtual machines to bare metal or totally different hardware altogether. **What do you dislike about Arctera System Recovery?** The biggest issue with Veritas System Recovery is that it does not work well with databases and database snapshots. Restoring the operating system and flat files is one thing, but being able to protect individual database snapshots would improve the software. **What problems is Arctera System Recovery solving and how is that benefiting you?** Veritas System Recovery being able to protect and restore physical and virtual environments is critical to keep the organization running and operational and to recover essential systems from failure. ### 7. The best part is their patented "Restore Anywhere technology," which rapidly restores all the required data. **What do you dislike about Arctera System Recovery?** Veritas system recovery has no significant cons, but It is expensive, so some small businesses may find it slightly intimidating to buy this solution. The recovery speed can be somewhat slow in a few instances, but that is a sporadic occurrence. **What problems is Arctera System Recovery solving and how is that benefiting you?** We used all the features though we relied primarily on the Veritas System Recovery backup and cloud data protection. Compared to its competitors, Veritas gives a lot, offering good recovery quickly with your system requiring the minimum RTO and RPO. **What do you dislike about Arctera System Recovery?** Veritas has shortcomings when it comes to the protection of databases and has security vulnerabilities.
