What do you like best about Aras Innovator?

I find the Impact Matrix in Aras Innovator really helpful because it shows me all the places where parts and documents are used, which is huge for managing changes for ECOs. I also appreciate the evolving and growing mindset of the company behind Aras Innovator. The software feels fresh and not stale, which is exciting. I value the Part Search feature, especially with the use of boolean search terms, because it makes it easy to find large groups of parts using wildcards or pipes. What do you dislike about Aras Innovator?

I would like to see a form of the impact matrix for MCOs. Also, we used to use more reports in Aras Innovator, but that was disabled. Dashboards are not strong enough to pull or show all the data we need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The best thing I like about Aras Innovator is its flexibility and openness. It offers possibilities to cover all the different business challenges and problems we encounter. There's always a way to solve any kind of business problems. It's a very powerful platform that can be the backbone for our enterprise. I believe the configuration possibilities to create a new user interface inside Aras could be improved, especially the tables and forms. How it's been designed currently might not be as purpose-centric as it could be. Enhancing the last mile precision could definitely help for better user adoption. What do you dislike about Aras Innovator?

Customer support, at times, can take a long time to resolve a problem. We typical file support tickets through an Aras partner and they handle most issues but when the issue is serious it is escalated to Aras. This response time can be difficult to tolerate. What problems is Aras Innovator solving and how is that benefiting you?

Aras functions as the primary hub for creating, tracking and storing engineering data. Aras allows us to produce and track parts, BOM's and jobs and control and track revisioning. I like the customizability of Aras Innovator and the vast amount of features it offers. I find managing forms and workflows easy, and I appreciate how it allows me to relate items. There are many new features available that I haven't used yet but are there for future exploration, like project management. I also find it easy to add new data points for evolving processes. The customer support (through Aras not our partner Razorleaf) seems to take a very long time to respond and close tickets, some of the performance (especially with CAD data) seems very slow Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Areas is currently allowing us to have a single repository for part meta data. Areas handles the unique sequential number generation along with BOM structure.

"Open, Flexible Low-Code Platform That’s Easy to Learn and Integrate"

What do you like best about Aras Innovator?

The openness of the platform makes it extremely user friendly to learn and program. The low code no code dev behind the scenes allows non-developers to support development to some degree which is beneficial for smaller companies who lack the IT power that larger groups have. The flexibility allows us to integrate freely to as many platforms as we wish, without fear of added costs or difficulties connecting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Aras Innovator?

The UI for the Change Management is a bit dated and could use some updating. The sign-offs window for example are a common gripe for our users, as is the convoluted impacted matrix. The rest of the UI is quite simple to understand and interact with but these screens feel dated. At this time they are not customizable like the rest of the product. Unifying our data, and supporting change management and revision control. All of our product data and related documents now live in one, connected system with appropriate rev control and approvals in place. What do you like best about Aras Innovator?

I love the amount of no code configuration that Aras allows. I felt very naturally drawn in to learning the skills needed to become a full-on developer. What do you dislike about Aras Innovator?

Some issues we've faced with Innovator is the default intuitiveness of the platform. I can see that it will improve as we update beyond 27, but there are lots of functions that I have to consistently remind users how to reach. There are also functions that I would expect to have out of the box (like downloading multiple files) that are not available. Aras is providing digital organization, automation and accountability to our change management process. We are now able to evaluate, debate, and approve ECOs without an in person meeting. "Smooth Transition to ARAS PLM with Continual Product Improvements"

What do you like best about Aras Innovator?

What do you dislike about Aras Innovator?

We are an on-prem customer who really wants the additional features of the SAAS capabilities however, ARAS is still not FedRAMP certified. With us being government we are not able to use any of the SAAS that are not FedRAMP certified.
