As with all Apple operating system version they cater very nicely to the creative who doesn't want to get their hands dirty. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
A lack of control of what can and can't be done in the operating system but this is prevalent with all Apple OS's Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Its the fastest operating system for me no lag issues Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
its old so you need to update the operating system. it needs to be automatic Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's versatile, fast, and intuitive to use. Its excellent GUI is interactive and insightful of all the processes running on it, making life much easier. Compared to windows, it is easier to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Apple products are very expensive and do not come with much free software. Paid applications are good but come with limited validity which makes them very expensive to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

For a lot of free or outdated MacOS programs, MacOS X Mountain Lion is the highest system that you can upgrade an iMac or MacBook to in order for the software to be compatible. A lot of users who use DJ software prefer to use Mountain Lion. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The interface is old compared to the current MacOS versions. The graphics, icons and preinstalled software are all dated. Trying to locate backwards compatible software like Google or Firefox to download and install is virtually impossible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It made things run faster for me. The system felt that it was smoother and better RAM managment. The Battery life had also improved for me. I got an extra 30 minutes to an hour when using my computer. The size it takes up on the hard drive was improved, too therefore saving space for my laptop. And of course, it being free update makes it great, more features without havbing to pay more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It was a big download for me, and it made no improvements to SSD use or drive platter speeds. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Previously I used to work with Windows where a restart is must every 2-3 days, but with mac I have no more to worry about restarts anymore. Memory management is perfect. Ux, security, features, ease of use is just perfect.
For a developer this OS is very nice to have. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing as of now, I am still exploring this wonderful OS.
While moving from windows to mac os, it has some learning curve but yes that is expected when we move to new things. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

One of my favorite things about Apple OS X Mountain Lion is the dictation feature. As someone who works in healthcare and is required to create several notes every day, dictating my notes and having them immediately transcribed is a godsend. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes when I have multiple applications and/or windows open, I do notice that my computer's functionality as a whole performs slower than usual. Is this concern directly attributed to Mountain Lion, or computer systems as a whole, I don't know, but it is something I do notice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I really like this operating system because it works very well on low-developed apple products with a low ram and still the device is still very fluid. Samsung, for example, has an operating system that is a little incomplete, so much so that when you are using a Samsung device, it starts to give some crashes and visible bugs Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't like a single thing about apple where its system is very restricted where some parts are good, like an apple product it's very rare to have or get some kind of virus, but on the downside it's too closed to do activities such as downloading apps from outside the app store, which is quite different from android that already lets you do this.
