What do you like best about Appium?

What I Like the most while using Appium is It is the Most Convenient Test Automation Framework for Mobile Application Testing in Both Hybrid and Native Apps Which is Well good for mobile app testing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appium?

What I Dislike the most is that in Appium there is no updated mobile device software which sometimes makes comparatively create the issue while testing the apps on the virtual device and Real device. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Appium solving and how is that benefiting you?

I have solved the different virtual devices issue which is possible to fix while using this framework. When we use a real device we do have not that much testing environments but when we use this framework we can actually test the apps in different environments also. What do you like best about Appium?

Appium has the best set of features that can be used for mobile automation and since it is also an open-source software it makes it even more convenient and cost effective to use. It provides a wide range of support for a wide array of scripting languages and also is not device dependent i.e can be used by platforms like iOS as well as android. It also has a detailed documentation that makes it very easy to find something specific that you are working on and overall the community is also pretty active that usually helps with most of the tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appium?

Even though appium is easy to use it comes with its cons, the application is comparatively slow than its counterparts, which makes using it a little inconvenient. Once a person gets a hang of it using it is like a walk in the park but it needs a substantial amount of time to be put into it to familiarize and get used to all the components and the features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Appium solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are mainly using Appium to automate the regressions tasks that we were usually testing manually every day, it has made our work a lot easier and the maintenance of the test cases written in appium are also not that difficult. Appium is not just helping us in saving time but helping save the overall cost itself since the application used earlier would cost a lot but appium being an open-source application is free to use. Nature of Appium is to gel with any language (Java, kotlin, python C# etc) or tools ( selenium, android studio etc...)

Love the way it integrates with mobile native as well as hybrid app

Integration with CI platform especially Jenkins has a plug-in where there is no need to mount another Appium server ( in simple term language and tool agnostic) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Appium?

WHat can I say, Appium and Selenium do work, but if I'm being honest it's not the most ideal setup imaginable. There are things to improve, but for now it looks like this is our option for mobile automation! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appium?

Appium, much like Selenium can be fragile and slow. This sort of comes with the territory, but it would be nice if we could make some strides to improve the execution speed as well as the stability of the tests. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Appium solving and how is that benefiting you?

Writing automation within the mobile application my company produces. This does allow us to get more end to end coverage, albeit at the expense of hardware or money resources to host the testing environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Appium?

The first best thing to consider about Appium is it has no dependency on the OS of the mobile. It can be any, Android or IOS. Only the same API needs to be integrated. It is designed to be programmable and used with any language such as Java, Python, Ruby, C++, etc. It can be integrated with many software out of which one which is simple to integrate is Eclipse IDE. Appium is open source allowing the user to save a lot for the automation compared to the manual. It has good web-driver compatibility. Selenium web driver is the best integration as a web driver to connect the appium with. Many different frameworks for the testing platform and supports almost all the mobile platforms. It also supports the automation of Hybrid, Native, and Web applications. Really easy for developers or Automation testers to configure as well to learn the features as well support is also good. It also handles the connection between the server and Xcode's tools during execution really well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appium?

Element browsing is not reliable as it creates many errors and is hard to find and solve. Need some upgrades for the same. Sometimes runs too slow compared to the other software. the support Documentation is a bit difficult to understand rather than that the support team helps better. Sometimes application crashes due to Appium backward compatibility issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Appium:

For mobile testing automation, it's really a good software to go with without any second thoughts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Appium solving and how is that benefiting you?

It's a Good automation tool for the mobile applications so the manual burden is really less and automation in this open-source application helps saving a lot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
