The one issue I faced a long time ago was the initial setup of Appium. The documentation doesn’t seem to be very user-friendly, so I’ve spent a lot of time for the initial setup. Also, the documentation seems to be more focused on Java users, so I had some problems with resolving code issues since I’m using mostly WebdriverIO+JavaScript. sometimes its very flaky and if we are struck into something there is no one to help, sometimes after trying all the solutions mentioned in StackOverflow also wont work, then we need to reach out to community in appium.io, and u can expect replies within a day or two, but if the paid tool there will be a support team who can help, as appium is open source we can't rely all the time. other than that appium is slow compared to native frameworks like XCUITest or Espresso.
