What do you like best about Appium?

Appium is an open-source program that supports various languages like java, python, ruby, and other object-oriented languages. This makes the tool valuable and efficient. The appium community has developed several sophisticated classes to manage test breakdown. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appium?

Some AI technologies, such as TOSCA, KATALON, and others, are more effective at automating mobile testing. AI tools are more feature-rich than appium. Gestures are more efficient than appium. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Appium solving and how is that benefiting you?

Appium is an open-source tool for testing mobile applications that frequently employ other object-oriented languages. It is capable of handling framework design for an efficient testing suite. It cannot generate reports and requires one external java client for testing script creation. Appium is sufficient for automated testing on iOS, Android, and Flutter. What do you like best about Appium?

In my opinion, Appium is the one of very few best tools for Mobile apps test automation on the market. It provides functionality for cross-platform testing on both Web and Native mobile applications. And moreover, the tool ensures a supportive community and continuous improvement because of its open-source nature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appium?

The one issue I faced a long time ago was the initial setup of Appium. The documentation doesn’t seem to be very user-friendly, so I’ve spent a lot of time for the initial setup. Also, the documentation seems to be more focused on Java users, so I had some problems with resolving code issues since I’m using mostly WebdriverIO+JavaScript. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Appium solving and how is that benefiting you?

The Appium solves the issue of cross-platform automation testing for mobile and desktop. It allows to automate the testing process on the different devices and OS versions resulting in improved application quality and faster release cycles. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It supports both iOS and Android platforms, making it a great option for developers and testers who need to test their apps on multiple platforms.

One of the key benefits of Appium is its ability to perform tests on real devices, which is a major advantage over other automation tools that rely on emulators.

And for the cherry on the cake, it supports all selenium commands. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appium?

What do you like best about Appium?

Appium have much more features for testing mobile application more over Android or iOS. It's a part of nodejs library that helps to automate the testcases for mobile application. It uses 3rd party libraries for working with gestures and can be modified according to need as it's open source. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appium?

Appium doesn't have any inbuilt functions to generate report for testing, 3rd party reporter is needed to be integrated with Appium to generate report. Working with mobile gestures with Appium is quite difficult to handle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Appium solving and how is that benefiting you?

1) Being open source the appium is totally free to use for test automation.

2) the inbuilt functions can be modified for own use cases.

3) Gestures can be handled seamlessly.

4) ios , Android, windows application can also be test automated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Appium?

Appium solves almost all mobile automation problems when compared to other paid software out there, this stands apart from all of them as it solves most of the automation problems we face on daily basis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appium?

sometimes its very flaky and if we are struck into something there is no one to help, sometimes after trying all the solutions mentioned in StackOverflow also wont work, then we need to reach out to community in appium.io, and u can expect replies within a day or two, but if the paid tool there will be a support team who can help, as appium is open source we can't rely all the time. other than that appium is slow compared to native frameworks like XCUITest or Espresso. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Appium solving and how is that benefiting you?

All Test automation problems like automation both native and hybrid apps, other than that appium desktop we can use to inspect the elements and find the proper ones and pinpoint using different locators and many more, appium is an awesome tool i can say. When it comes to benefits it offers a multitude of tools at testers end and helps to automation smoothly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
