AppDynamics is a great tool to monitor infrastructure, from servers to database and API endpoints or business transactions. AppDynamics is super easy to set up; all we need to do is set up a client on the infrastructure we need to monitor; it can be connected seamlessly with the application, such as spring boot just specifying the tier. And the dashboard appears immediately. It's even great too to visualize how the request is moving into different micro-services. We can set up other alerts and exceptions and set up actions when the triggers are hit, from sending mails to the running script. All the options are organized. Though it runs as a client on the nodes which we want to monitor, it does have little control over the infrastructure. It is only used as a monitoring tool and brings out all the stars, such as memory usage, disk usage, etc. It does not have control over starting or stopping the instances on which runs. Also, for the business transaction monitoring, it can send out an exception, but not the request body for which the exception has occurred.
