"Great tool but a lot of lift to get it started and lack of integration features"
4/5
What do you like best about Appcues?

I do love the UX/UI of the tool and I like how it is easy to segment between various CRM properties. The CS team (especially one of the leaders in CS/Onboarding) is amazing and turned our experience around. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appcues?

The miscommunicated integration features. It is a bidirectional sync to your CRM but only in so many ways. The tool is harder to set up if your software is embedded to your site... you need to do some roundabout ways to get it done Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Good experience to talk with your customers"
4/5
What do you like best about Appcues?

The Appcues interface is very simple and easy to use. This facilitates the creation of flows through the templates that are provided. It is possible to have several active flows simultaneously, with interdependencies and in order of priority. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appcues?

The Appcues reports are a bit confusing. To create segmentations through lists, it is necessary to upload 1000 by 1000. It is difficult to set goals for the flows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Makes communication in-app super simple!"
5/5
What do you like best about Appcues?

The chrome extension works pretty well to create and build flows. Generating these experiences with the benefit of seeing what the look and feel will be like on-the-fly is immensely helpful.

Further, targeting elements is pretty simple, so you won't have to open up a code editor and dig in to deliver a great experience. It's a great tool for a number of reasons, but I love the fact that you can deliver specific communication to a specific audience in your application when you need to, without having to leverage a development department Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appcues?

I think Appcues covers most of the bases. There are some minor items, like modal placements and call-outs that could be more flexible with where you can place them, but for the most part, it gets the job done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great app to build onboarding and user adoption flows without needing to ask the devs"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Appcues?

I use Appcues to onboard new users, give announcements, upsell features and offer trials. I love how flexible and granular the segmentation options are, which allows me to create campaigns targeted at specific user profiles and use cases. As a designer, I'm also happy with the layout customisation options they offer. The support has been very helpful too. Overall is a great tool! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appcues?

Even though the app features are extensive, the learning curve is also a bit steep for colleagues who are not familiar with apps like this. Also depending on the flow you're creating, some aspects of the segmentation need a lot of manual work (such as alerts, event tracking, and goals) which can be a blocker, but overall I'm very happy with the level of support they offer. "Great for Building Walkthrough In-app Guides"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Appcues?

I love how user-friendly it is to create walkthroughs and tutorials for our new and paying users. There is a lot of flexibility in design to make it branded and their team is very agile with their development of new features. I have had a number of calls with their support team and customer success managers, and both have been quick to reply and very helpful with the setup of our account. It was also nice that they had a lot of integrations to help fit into our software stack. For example, Hubspot had a nice integration where we could tell which customers had gone through certain guides we had set up in AppCues. We also had it connected to Zapier which worked into our other workflows nicely. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appcues?

As much as I like how the onboarding guides turn out that we created, they are lacking some deeper analytics in-app. For example, it was hard to track feature adoption by visitors or accounts after releasing a new guide, which would be helpful if we released a new feature. You have to rely on another analytics tool to really dive into what is working and what is not working in your application. We didn't have the resources at the time to do this, so we had to do with what was offered, but looking back, it would have been nice to connect to an analytics tool, like Amplitude.
